This video, particularly relating to the rotation of the hips while keeping the shoulders back, was a fantastic find. It has completely transformed my downswing and connection with the ball. The effect is really quite dramatic. I have never in 25 years struck irons and the driver with such success as I am now doing. A complete transformation. Thanks to your coach for that simple explanation and demo, with you bent over the club rotating the hips while keeping shoulders still facing ahead. Brilliant.
Congrats Ernie! As important as golf can seem, there are definitely times when life makes us prioritize. It sounds like your plate is pretty full. Don’t let it overwhelm you or feel like you need to apologize for putting life ahead of TH-cam. We’ll always be here. 😊
This is an amazing driver lesson, I think I have seen this teaching by someone teaching the Mike Austin swing and thought it can't be right it is promoting flipping, but this clearly works, obviously as long as you do it correctly. Does this mean we have been caught trying to hold lag for far too long with the driver? Man what a great teacher, wish I didn't live so far away. Also Erndog you are a great student good luck with scratch.
Thank you man! Yeah, majority of professionals are really good at releasing the club, and a lot of them have a left miss. So holding the lag for them and a more rotational swing, allows to no longer have a left miss. Most ams actually miss right and don’t have a good understanding on how to release the club, so holding lag ends up making their natural swing worse
So excited for you on everything, congrats! Driver swing is looking better than ever. You'll be aiming right and drawing 300 with confidence in no time. 👍
Happy days ahead on the personal front… way more important than good and YT. I continue to marvel at how your swing is improving and look forward to seeing it manifest on the course!
I think what makes this so hard is that as we try to create speed we pull harder on the handle and it gets harder and harder to get the club head to catch up. So tricky to get that club head moving early enough to get there ahead of the hands!
Congratulations Ernie in your up coming wedding! Absolutely love your videos! I somehow stumbled across them and have learned and gained so much from them- thank you Zach you are an amazing coach! I’ve been applying your lessons at the range and the results are fantastic! I feel rejuvenated and got rid of the weak right miss and am drawing the ball and at times getting a horrendous hook- lol. Keep up the great work. I appreciate you! Aloha from Hawaii!
Just did my first lesson with Zach and it was great, he helped me make some adjustments that definitely felt like they helped make a major impact on my swing! Glad I found him through your channel!
Should call this lesson “Get Hard” lol great session. I hope Zach can share his thoughts on extending at impact with driver. But doesn’t with irons. Keep ‘em coming Ern. Thanks to you Zach
Great Lesson thank you for sharing. Lots of nuggets of wisdom there. Zach is a good teacher like how he explains & helps move you into position needed. Keep it up wish you all the best.
I try not to watch your videos, Erndog, but only because I'm jealous. However, once I started seeing some of your sessions with Zach and the swing he has helped you create, it's hard to not watch. I live in AZ but now I'm gonna have to figure out how to get to Dallas for lessons! You and I are on the same journey, but you are tackling it much more eloquently than I am . I love your approach to making this happen. Your swing looks amazing - keep grinding.
Been watching your videos for a little bit now. It’s great watching your lessons and seeing how in depth each lesson goes. It’s a little overwhelming at first but seeing your progress is awesome. I need to find myself a Zack around me lol
@@ErndogGolfwould love to hear your tips on how to find a good golf instructor and what red flags or green flags would be when interacting with them, especially for the certain kinds of goals (ex: for a mid handicap, low handicap and scratch). For instance, My goal is to get to a 10 handicap within the next 2 years. What level of expertise should they have vs an instructor that would get me to scratch once I achieve that goal.
I'm from England and came across your videos. Love the content and your improvements. Can I just say what a great coach Zach is. Very clever guy. Quality new hair do👏 Congratulations on getting married. 🎉
Great videos and love your attitude to learning golf. Totally the opposite of "buying" a good golf swing like some other scratch to scratch videos. Congrats on your wedding and keep up the good work!
I'm in the same position in my career woth my swing. I'm hitting irons so much better but blocking my driver bad. I'll be using this for sure on the range tomorrow! thank you bith for your journey and helping with mine😊
So Zach I'm enjoying watching the videos. I have a question though. This is fine for a Young person but how about a Senior who maybe isn't is limber as him and that can't or don't want to hurt His back? Any suggestions I wish I could afford to have setup at or in My House. Great job Ernie.
Thank you for recording these lessons! Has been so beneficial for me and I’m sure for so many more. Question: How you go about fixing your drives if you’re pulling it straight left? I’m assuming that my hand at impact is flipping/point to the left. It’s not drawing at all. Just a straight left shot. Love to hear your feedback on this!
Great video! Keeping my shoulders closed while my pelvis is open is exactly what I am trying to correct right now!!! (both being fully open) Is there a good drill for this?
There's another video of this (I think week 61). Coach stand in front of golfer and to the right/ back 45 degree ish, says keep your shirt buttons pointed at me..... super helpful
Great instruction regarding the hands with the driver 👍 Was there an episode where you detailed the hands for the irons ? I think I've seen every video but can't remember the same detail for irons... Thanks in advance !
Awesome lesson and progress Ernie, although it’s so strange hearing you say you’re trying to hit an intentional hook. For us that’s a thing to be avoided!! And congratulations on the future life changes
Thank you very much!! Learning the Hooke has taught me a better understanding of the extremes of my swing! Making it much easier to understand how to hit it straight!
I’ve been following your journey. Congratulations on your journey. When in your swing are you closing the club face with your forearms and are you rotating simultaneously? I think you are keeping your shoulders closed and closing the club face with the forearms and rotating at the same time. Correct?
You certainly have a lot going on! Not that you asked for it, but here’s a little advice: -After you are married the real work begins. Just like a solid golf swing, a solid marriage requires just as much effort. Good luck, Erndog!
This is very interesting and beneficial to me . Just one negative comment and that is why you appear to be saying something like "that's sick", or "sick".
Is this driver swing technique purely to stop a slice or are there other benefits? Many TH-cam videos are all about using the ground to generate more club head speed, what are Zach’s thoughts on this? Does Zach like the drop and pop method that the GRF videos with Marcus Bell promote? Congratulations on getting married.
I’ve been struggling with fatting my irons and wedges any thing that could help with that I’m working on keeping my head still and not lifting my body up too early and still seem to be fatting it any others things that could be causing me fatting it ?
@@zachberhow.instruction he just wouldn’t have to feel like he’s flipping the wrists as much to achieve the same result because the face will be more square instead of starting open and then going to closed. He’s not concerned at all about the ball going left which is why blocks happen for good players.
@zachberhow.instruction Very easy to hit it off line when you are relying on rolling the wrists and forearms to square the face instead of starting more square with a stronger grip that promotes the face staying square when force is applied when you are swinging. Both ways work one is more consistent when you aren’t practicing daily.
Happy wedding day, hope you both have a marriage with lots of years and happiness.Back to driver,do you have sky high left short distance hits with this method and if so what is the cause.
Best I’ve felt about your driver. Get this figured out and it’s 70’s all the time moving forward!
Thanks Zach!!
Great Lesson Zach. Love the corn rows!
Good luck man. God bless you on your journey.
"it's just amazing what happens when you start practice the misses", love that.
Congratulations for you're wending!

Another excellent video..thanks. do you feel like you do that closing movement close to the top of the backswing?
Ernie looking Jacked and Zach looking fly AF!
Hahahahahahahh thanks for noticing brother!
Good Luck on the marriage! Will be interesting to see how drilling this release pattern affects iron swing.
I drilled a release pattern on my first marriage.... worked out really well for me!! 😂

Good Morning, Any chance you guys could do a video on "how to get more higher launch with the driver?? Thanks

Travis Kelcey is credited with inventing the "fade" haircut... Now Zach is rocking cornrows. We have officially entered the Bizarro World!
Those are viking braids my friend. If you educate yourself, the world won't be so bizarre. Idiots credit Kelcey for a fade.
Oh damn Coach Z went to a dominican barber huh
You may want to google vikings and where they lived and how they did their hair. It'll blow your mind
What's the point of opening the hips early instead of just synchronizing them with the chest?
No speed, poor low point, bad hand path, potential heel shots, tough to draw the ball.
@@zachberhow.instruction thanks. I'm 50 and have more speed 108 than this kid and I'm synchronized per my coach.
