I ran cross country in 1983 and bought a pair of Nike Pegasus shoes. Little did I know that it was actually Pegasus 1.

Me too!.. Philadelphia. Some local sporting goods store came to an early season practice with a trunk full of Pegasus’ (Pegasi?).. and everybody on the team got a pair. I wish I could remember how much we paid. Didn’t realize until your comment that that had to be the “1”!

I started with the 36's. I bought them to run a half marathon because I tried to enlist in the army, and they said my knee couldn't handle it. I was going to prove them wrong. Although I didn't actually run the half in them, I ran it because I wasn't going to be told I was incapable. The most recent one I bought was the 39. It is definitely an improvement from the 37 & 38.

Still rocking the 37, it’s been like 3 years, 500 km later and they still feel great

My First Pegasus was the original back in the early 1980's and have used many iterations since then. I am running in Peg 39's at the moment and a pair of Peg Trail 36 as well.

I’m usually not a fan of white running shoes but that is a dope color way, especially with the sunlight going through them and illuminating the yellow and orange.

    Pegasus 26. First
Nike 1977. Blue and yellow. Favorite Pegasus so far was 35. Still wear them just for walking.

The Pegasus 36 is the shoe that started my running journey, my first ever running shoes! Also, thanks to your channel! I still remember your first impression on the 36 and how excited you were running in them! I skipped the 37, 38 and 39 and moved straight to the Pegasus Turbo Next Nature as a daily trainer. Maybe I’ll give the 40 a shot this time? The 36 is still such a memorable shoe to me! 🙌🏼

While the Vomero 1 was my first true serious running shoe, the Peg 28 was my first Peg and the one I used to step up to distance running. It was so incredibly comfortable, I wore it every day (before I realized the value of having a rotation :)). Unfortunately none of the recent Pegs have compared, aside from the original Turbo-my all-time-favorite Nike runner-so I’ve moved on to other trainers. Seeing this video though makes me want to give it a shot again, so thanks Seth!

I started with the Pegasus 36 because of this channel. Fell in love with the 36. Recently picked up the 39 and still love the shoe.

My first pair of pegasus was the 36 and was one of the best running shoes at the time. I noticed that the more miles on the pair the more comfortable it feels for me. Skipped the 37 and 38 and got the 39 for the memories. Same feel but an improved running shoe. Starting to feel more comfortable already.

I ran in the original Pegasus in college. I remember the ads in Runner's World at the time really liked the mythological branding. The last one I ran in was maybe the 36? I haven't gotten the last few iterations, but perhaps I should give them a try again.

Contrary to what people believe, the pegasus isn’t actually that durable. It’s still usable but I noticed it felt different and the foam felt a little flat after 350 miles. I also do a lot of speed training because I’m a high school track and xc runner

I got a pair of Pegasus 34 a couple years ago at discount when I started running. It was my only shoe in the rotation and I ended up running my first marathon in them lol. Currently I got 2 pairs of Peg 37 I got on discount (Nike outlet) for daily trainers a few months ago. Still my go to shoe for everything except race day and runs over 25k.

    Hay Seth.
My very fist pair of Pegasus where the originals, numero uno. The dark grey ones with the blue swoosh.
Loved them. To the point where I have bought them again off the Nike website when they re released a year or so ago. My latest pair I bought are the Pegasus trail 3, which are also very good. I'm just a huge Nike fan.
    Many thanks Seth.
Keep up the great work. 👍

QOD: Pegasus 36 I won many races including cross country and track and drops
In it dreary shoe and later I got the 37 and it was great a little heavier but softer loves it for daily and the 35 for speed work even races!!!
Good job at videos really enjoying them 👍😃🏃‍♂️

The best thing about Peg 40 is the price drop of Peg 39 :) Peg 40 is definitely a step back with the increasing weight. This is a good time to buy another pair of Peg 39.

I bought my first pegasus 37 last year. I didn't thought much of it at first, and didn't find a good use until recently. The Pegasus 37 feel great, they are lighter, really good cushioning and it allows me to go faster.

My first Pegasus was the 29. What an amazing shoe that was. The bounce and comfortable energy return that the shoe gave was the best of the Pegasus line. (IMHO)

Seth, I have an affiliation with the pegs too. It was my introduction to Seth James DeMoor 😊. I was looking for a new shoe and a friend said to me, "have you looked on TH-cam?" I looked up Pegasus 35 and up you came. I have been following ever since 👌🏃

Have had several pegs and the turbo. Last one was the 38. After 5 runs in it, decided to make it a casual/travel shoe. Life's too short for running on cheap quality midsole 😊. Fortunately, i switched to Saucony (based on one of seth's reviews) and not looked back since. But, shoe choice is always personal to the individual

  • @Tiza1
    @Tiza1 ปีที่แล้ว

First one was nike Pegasus 38, dark navy one. Mainly used it for gym and as a casual shoe but was a great running when traveling and I didn't want to rock my massive Asics Gel Nimbus or my tempo shoes. Probably gona look to pick up the 40 or 39 on sale as a good all rounder and back up runner.

I got the 37s which In enjoyed very much, even I got a PB with them in my last marathon race. I was thinking to get the 38 back then but I tempted to get the 39s now that I saw some on discount. Seems the react even more squishy now, nice!

QD: never had a pegasus. Grew up with the Gel Cumulus. All the way back to gel cumulus 16. In fact i think the cumulus 24 was and still is my personal favorite running shoe. And i hate what they did with the 25.
But seeing this, makes me thinking about changing over. Heard so much good about the peg 39 :D

  • @hamishcraig5178

First Pegasus was the 36 GORE-TEX edition. Wore them into the ground, was my stock room and gym shoe before I picked up running, by which time the Zoom unit on them had fully gone. Sadly I only realised this after the fact and continued to clock in the KMs by running on what was just the protective EVA foam at that point. Recently picked up the Peg 37 Pride edition off eBay for a steal and been rinsing 10Ks in them, can really feel the springy Zoom unit in the forefoot this time aha. Might pick up the Peg 40s in the future if the reviews are looking positive!

My first and only Pegasus was the 38. Aside from having a great outsole suitable even for winter/snow running, I did not find the ride all that special. Unless there is a radical overhaul, I can’t see myself purchasing again.

3:48 'They added a flex groove in the outsole' But the midsole and outsole are exactly the same as the Pegasus 39? So that' s nothing new, is it?

:QD: My first Pegasus was somewhere in the late 1990s (unsure which version, but was probably around 15). It was one of the first shoes I owned when starting to run more seriously. I don't buy Nike products anymore due to issues I have with the company, how they treat their athletes (e.g. Kara Goucher), and a few other reasons.

If Nike reps are reading these comments… PLEASE... with the bigger sizes of all Nike running shoes... and I mean all... Pegasus, Invincible, Vaporfly.... Vomero… please make the laces a little bit longer. Trying to tie a runners knot in a UK size 11.5 is practically impossible - and is impossible in my new Invincible 3s.

Nike is still holding back in their daily trainers, reserving their best tech for their premium models. I can't justify buying a running shoe that is using inferior midsole foam that is heavier and has limited energy return. At least Asics and New Balance puts good foam in their Novablast and Rebel daily trainers.

QD: I tried the peg 36 or 37 a few years ago. Just didn’t work for me and was causing me pain in my feet. Sadly I had to return the shoe and went back to the drawing board and that’s when I stumbled upon my first pair of edorphin speeds by Saucony.

My first (and only) Pegasus I bought in 1988, a year after it came out. It was on sale, like 40 bucks. Not sure which iteration, but 35 years ago, it got me through firefighter drill school. It was a bit wider than other Nikes, and I thought Air was magic. That's my review. 8.4/10. Goes in the cabinet.

Just an upper update. I wouldn’t buy the next version of a shoe just because of an upper update. The upper from the previous version would have to be terrible for me to buy the upgrade. Not sure I would waste my time taking this shoe to 50 miles with just an upper update but hey, Nike is sponsoring the video, you got to. 😂
