babe wake up, blender lady uploaded again
"stop watching that blender lady or im breaking up with you."
😂😂
😅😅
You're very brave to dive into houdini for modeling an object, that's a super uphill battle for basic 3d. The shapes and design of your nomad sculpt are indeed super cute.
Its not worth it unless some specific adjustments are needed. But You should be rich enough to buy houdini modeler addon. Then it can be more bearable.
as for yt video this experience was fun
Houdini isn’t really bad for standard box modeling but the Modeler add on is definitely worth it. Organic stuff I wouldn’t do in Houdini except for plants.
Once you know how houdini works. You'll feel like a God. I think houdini is for building cities. I still think that 3ds max is still the best for modelling. But blender with its node seems the combination of houdini and max.
@@Alex-wg1mb No point for her if she's not trying to create things parametrically. She seems to be focused on learning to create assets and being artistic at this stage.
It's very hard for most people to be artistic through parametric tools like Houdini.
@@angryralphs2516 I definitely think Houdini is the future and want to learn it myself as a mostly Maya user who gets poorer versions of its interfaces and tools.
But I wouldn't recommend it as an entry point for a beginner unless they had a technical background. Blender is the standard for someone wanting to start making models and renders.
Haha, As a Houdini teacher, I can clearly say trying to learn Houdini in only 5 hours is insane. Hats off for trying though, I wouldn't even have dared.
Came here to say just about the same thing (I'm also a teacher :D )
I wouldn't use Houdini to *create* a character though. There's so many other cool things you could do with Houdini which I think you'd love Daisy!
the nomad sculpt model turned out surprisingly good! It's mind blowing that sculpting characters is even possible on an ipad. Sick video.
Your willingness to learn is very inspiering, in stark contrast to your willingness to join us on the dark side of blender ; )
So interesting watching your journey in the world of 3D. Houdini has a steep learning curve and as mentioned you're very brave for giving it a go. The power of Houdini is the node based workflow that can give you a procedurally generated result. It's hard to learn but when you do you'll basically end up a wizard. Best of luck!
girl you’re such a role model. your lessons that you take away from each video are so 🔥. growth mindset queen
Nothing in life worth having ever comes easy! Love your vid!
For jumping straight into characters like this, you’re a natural
Agreed
I am astonished that modeling in Houdini is even possible, as the use for the software is The most accurate yet simulation software. Be it smoke, water, sand flying out from spinning wheels, destruction of buildings and so on.
Good job, keep doing what you're doing 👌
It's best used for modelling large scale objects, like terrain, buildings, foliage & so on so forth. The procedural workflow of Houdini allows you to do some really cool things, especially with the Houdini Engine (basically livelink for Houdini with other software such as Max, Maya, Unreal Unity etc)
My eyes
my beautiful yet fragile eyes, the light theme
(but really, i have been following you for a while, hope to see more)
New Daisy video, what a nice surprise. This is actually inspiring tbh, and I'm glad I learned a new term in english which is to 'branch out'. I think sometimes we feel stuck and forget we can sit down and get good/better at something.
This is amazing Daisy!! You're doing a great Job!!
The guts you have to try out new 3D software - free or not - rather than sticking with Blender is craaazy. I make music, and I haven't the patience to pivot from FL Studio and try out different DAWs.
Respect.
I'm a big fan of your videos
Hey Daisy! It's been really cool to follow your journey, and excited to see how much more you learn :D
also a side note ive been learning houdini for about 2 years now and i never once attempted to model a character in it, that was really interesting to see LOL
I am so rooting for your journey
Fun vid, excited to see your progress in 3D!
I think you're making great progress. Keep it up. BTW, what Womp is calling "Negative Objects" is called Boolean Difference in practically every other piece of graphical software. In Blender it's a modifier called Boolean and you click on Difference in the mode. Select the object you want to "cut" with in the modifier object option, and then you need to turn off the render visibility in the object outliner. You can also set the visiblity of the cutting object to "Bounds" or "Wireframe" in the "Object" -> "Viewport" -> "Display As" dropdown.
Daisy's back! Also the 3D models are looking great
I would say, that your video editing skills are well-based. Even as a beginner in 3D softwares, your confidence is pretty friendly, which makes your vids attractive to watch! ✌
Pretty good character designs! I would like to see you try to rig and animate them in some basic ways. It is difficult to learn but rewarding when you see results from your hard work. Of course to animate well, you have to learn the basics like the squash and stretch, bouncing ball, follow through, body mechanics, etc. Anyway, hope you will explore more in Blender and keep practicing!
hey if you wanna learn 3d animation, I suggest learning the prerequisites. Like photography is very important. if you wanna create scenes, you'd want to know how optics and composition work. 3d is like consistently looking through a camera and you need to know how the human eye and the real life camera lenses work. also photography teaches you a lot about how light interacts with objects and the eyes and lenses. you want a deep understanding of how light behaves in order to light you 3d scenes.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS , as someone who wanna start a channel im here stock piling videos like this in media wallet so when i reading to begin my TH-cam journey ill be able to be prepared and revisit it in media wallet
Rigging and character animation is the reason why I make environments. :)
I've been meaning to learn how to 3D model and some of these other options look really good! Good video
Fellow newbie 3D modeler here: really enjoying your series! Maybe an idea for branching out in the future could be trying a low-poly style? I've been spending a lot of time doing that recently.
Womp looks promising. I'm going to try it❤
In case you mean it seriously with Blender and 3D, here my suggestions:
Decide what 'industry' you want to go:
- visualization of whatever you want - 3DS Max and Vray(if you have money), Blender, Plasticity 3D(paid)
- motion picture, clips, movies - Maya and Arnold(if you have money), Blender
- sculpting - Zbrush or Mudbox(if you have money), Blender
Also you need to learn classic photography things, color theory and many more. Trying a lot of software is not worth your time(learn and understand takes time - years). Usually you need combine more programs but be good at one is good starting point, I think.
Just my thoughts. Good luck!
She really modeled this cool scar on her collarbone, I want one like that too.
Well done, you turned a video which started off with what you perceived as personal weaknesses into a great success!
I'm really exited to see your progress and maybe I can say in a feew years I can say "I was there at the beginnen" when you are a professional 3D Artist :D Keep going!
This is inspirational. I'm learning Blender after leaving Maya (too expensive if not in college anymore)., so I feel your frustration. Thanks for sharing. I subscribed.
yoo this looks like a progress anyway, very cute stylish baby humans😅 well done!
You should try blockbench. It doesn't allow for sculpting nor high resolution texture drawing, but it lets you learn the basics of 3D modeling really well. It is advanced enough to make some sick low poly models. It is generally used for Minecraft models, but it can do much more than that. It introduced me to 3D modeling. I am still overwhelmed by blender and haven't quite gotten started, but it made me less scared of 3D modeling and made me realize it really is something I could potentially do.
for a beginner i can definitely say your good and im certian that if you continue at is you can keep getting better. also very brave to try out software your not confertable with especially the sculpting ones like Zbrush and Nomad sculpt.👍👍
Great video - I didn't know about Womp, so that's a new easy to pick up tool I'm going to look into. I've used Blender for many years, but on a very casual level, although I utilize it for corporate use. Keep going, you're doing great, and I look forward to see your next video!
A new Daizy Day video just dropped 😯
I'm sorry but I have never had such a vocally visceral reaction in my life until I saw the blender models fingers and toes.
Good vid tho
Nomad is fantastic! Nomad and CozyBlanket have mostly replaced any need for modelling on my PC. Now, if there would just be an animation and rigging app on iPad
Great video! As someone who has ZERO experience in any of these programs I feel like they are all more approachable now. Demystifies all of it just a little bit more for me. Thank you!
Came for the Houdini part(loved your Baymax skinny model haha) and watched the whole video!!! Keep it up, new sub:)
I’ve used them all and Nomad is the most intuitive and enjoyable. Then you use blender to clean up and render. 😊
Including all the tutorials you used is very helpful! 🙏
cutest TH-cam Blenderer do exist :)))
Thanks for this video, turned out really good! ^^
On one hand I want to commend you for trying all these software. On the other not all software is good for every task and the beauty is using each software for what it is good at. Like you might want to block out a environment in Houdini then use blender to polymodel a character model then take it to nomad to sculpt and then bring it back to Blender or into procreate to texture.
Just came here to say that doughnut reference was spot on. Happy modeling!
Now try Free Trials of other DCC software :D They definitely make you appreciate Blender a lot more, especially these days. Way back in the day, Blender was extremely difficult to use.
Cute! All of them, even the unfinished one in ZBrush :) For character design and creation in Blender, though, hands down you wanna be using the skin modifier for the whole shebang. Mirror > skin > subsurf modifiers turns half a stick figure into a base mesh all too easy. The skin modifier is a little fiddly to get to grips with, but it's unbeaten once you do. Hands and fingers are a bit of a process, but basically what you want to do is extrude a vert to where the centre of the palm would be and then hit Mark Loose in the skin modifier. This'll make it behave better when you extrude the knuckles and then fingers from there. The knuckles will look weird at first when you extrude them, but once you have the first four, scale their radii (ctrl - A) all down together and then extrude the fingers. Then do the same with the thumb. You can adjust the length of each digit from there.
The other reason the skin mod is so good for characters is that it has a handy-dandy little button called Create Armature, once you're done and ready to apply it. This will add the central and half the limb bones for you for rigging later on, which you can then add constraints to and symmetrise once you do get to the rigging stage. The bones follow the underlying vertices and edges that the skin mod generates around, so it's worthwhile inserting verts where all joints should be, i.e. in the knee, elbow, fingers, and thumb, before hitting Create Armature and applying.
Nomad is actually amazing. people are asleep on what it can do lol the retopo features are super helpful. allows you to prep/optimize the topology of your creations when finished. it’s super easy to export too and be able to send to blender for rigging/animation
Love the mentality and the desire to learn! As someone who had to pick up learning Unreal Engine 5 for my first feature film I love seeing people get into Blender and other formats like that. Would love to have you on our podcast one day to nerd out on Blender! and like minded software
Always looking forward to new uploads from you :>
A model doing 3D modeling, 😅 awesome video, really enjoying your journey, 😊
Lesgo Daisy
Houdini reigns Supreme!
Respekt the hustle chief
What a journey
ShE Is So Beatiful
Awesome, you make really cool geo in houdini in 5 hours. But don't giveup To easy, Give one more try :)
Stay strong and stay consistent. Great content
Ayo CHILL! 6:53
I will recognize some of those tunes everywhere! I used the cozy youtube playlist in a game of mine! :D
Next time you should try Daz Studio, free 3D for modeling people/faces/characters specifically.
No 3D modeling program is perfect and the very high end programs are essentially written by programmers FOR programmers, so this video should be helpful for those dipping their toes in the waters of 3D modeling. And considering the growing availability of generative art and generative 3D software today, I suspect the skills which have been necessary up to this point are going to be replaced or supplemented by machine learning/A.I. in the near future anyway.
I would give Valence 3d or Blockbench a try. They are both very beginner friendly
As a fellow Blender beginner, I wish you luck on your journey!
Also, I had never heard of WOMP but it looked interesting, might have to check that out. Thanks! :)
Vertices are coordinates. Points have attributes, among them the coordinates, but also you can name points, you can group them, these attributes can track and control various aspects of a simulation. Points for points!
Your best video!
No matter what 3D Software you use, you have to remember that, Modeling, UV editing and Texture Painting, Material Creation, Lighting, Rigging, Animation, Motion Graphics, Physics Simulation, are all different and separate disciplines. That's why you needed different specialized software back in the early 2000s.
Also, Houdini is for 3D Gods who exist at the 33 Level of Heaven.
Do not expect to get good at Houdini in a short time (so I've heard).
That being said, Blender 3D is one of the greatest opportunities we have at getting into 3D and learning most of the 3D Disciplines.
damn, you are so pretty
1:15 actually the first step is switch it to dark mode
😂😂😂nice. I too hate white theme 😅
Blender is amazing
I'll guess you`re most comfortable working in Blender.. and it`s free.. amazing!!
thats so cool!
wOW THIS IS REALLY COOL , ALL THAT IS FREE?
The Houdini character had me dying 😂 Good shit giving it a go, you can absolutely blame Houdini for that one. Character modeling definitely isn't its strong suit lol. I've been learning it for about 2 months after using Blender for years and I definitely intend to just stick with using it for FX work and leaving the more traditional stuff to Blender
the white blender ui makes my eyes burn 😵💫
I was curious if you were going to make an attempt at doing this in Sketch-Up. That would've been an interesting challenge.
Also, this is the perfect video for adding chapters. Having a timestamp for each program.
When you get to 226K subs, remember this guy who was here under 10K.
Good video!
"I feel that blender is too hard, so let's try something more accessible, like Houdini" 🤣
but TBH I am amazed that you actually did make a character, good job!
Bran Sculpts & Aram Art have pretty good beginner Sculpting tutorials
"These little pieces of food....bowl-stered by shade smooth" .... 🤣
I love when mic bigger than Live :)
very nice
If I were a Cat, I'd give this Video 4 Paws and a Purr Up. But that might just be the Cat Nip Talking.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaa brightest blender blinds me
Daisy I want you to know I make mid six figures simply modeling and texturing right here from home. Been doing it 20 years. Simply selling models in 3d market place. The small sales build and build over time.
Oh no! I'm all out of popcorn and donuts.
Nomad is very cool and easy to use and I am enjoying seeing your progress. Now consider getting a 3D printer to print your models out. :-)
white blender, bruh, im dead 💀
Just for you to know, you can get an Indie License of Maya for around 300 Dollars a year.
Thank you for that. I went looking earlier and couldn't find it. Now with the help of reddit, I found it.
Can you also try anim8or too please? I wanna see it! :D
thank uuuu
Yes! Totally on point. As an artist, getting out of your comfortzone is a good way to grow. Limitations is another one I use.
By the way, if you dont mind me asking, what's the story behind the scar?
This seems to require patience and curiosity more than anything
Oh i REALLY wish this showed all the steps.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
keep going!
