First time fishing platform 9 actually. It was not that bad of a spot. I believe the bridge is just over 2 miles long so there is plenty of space for everyone.
Great attitude to have! People often are so strung up they don't realize you can still catch fish with others around, in fact the 1% fisherman will still outperform the others lol @@305FloridaBoyFishing
Exactly take what you need don’t be greedy I see those videos of those people cooler full of fish. Do you really need all them fishes Number one cleaning them is a pain in the ass so I agree with you don’t be greedy
I heard that yellow jacks are going to be getting regulated to 21 inches and over and five a day. And yes, I do agree that taking too many fish is irresponsible and a pain to clean.
On the south side of Long key bridge you can find people over fishing yellow jacks every day! It’s kind of sad. One of the last times I was there this guy was like I caught 10 already, I never seen nothing like this! And in my head I’m like damn bro do you really need 10 yellow jacks? They’re not even that big. Honestly, four of them were around 20 inches.
Eventually, he left my spot and I thought he was going home but he returned with two other guys and continue to fish the yellow jacks. I think he was a Florida Keys resident, too, which you only see that kind of behavior from out of towners. Pretty much every Florida Keys resident respects and takes care of the keys. But it’s not my ocean. I’m just passionate about it. People overfishing is the reason I have not caught my keeper mutton yet. I’ll get em one day.
Brother, I remember going down to the keys I’m 57 years old and I had my decent days I’ve been to the long key bridge I don’t know how many times and I never caught anything a little thing here in a little thing there and I see these people fill the coolers I don’t get it is ridiculous
@@johnnyrueda8522 honestly after I started watching Chadgonefishing and Sharkinwithseaweed my fishing game changed completely. I pay homage to those guys! I used to only catch grunts and maybe a mangrove snapper. lol
@@305FloridaBoyFishing lol yes sir of course, but the way you looked I pictured you as a navy seal sniper or something lol that's why I had to ask, I was like who's this famous sniper idk lol I'll be taking my first family vacation in 21 yrs of service on Feb. We are coming down to FL. I'm hoping to get out to the bridges to fish! What are the best jigs you found? I'm more of an active fisherman when other baits are in the water so I like to jig as well, last yr Long Island in NY on the piers I was catching the only keeper Flounders, I think a lot was to do with fact I was using bigger size baits and jigs so it was quality of quantity
That would be a bad ass story if I was a sniper, and I killed another sniper, and I took that bullet out of his rifle and made a necklace out of it, because that bullet was intended for me just like in the movie.

You guys need to edit out those overhang numbers to keep your spots intact. In reality, though, the whole bridge is good.
