The whole story of cars being removed was from some player emailing the manufacturers which caused the removals of all these cars. But driving empire pushed their limits and made gambling options with real cars. This gave a massive boost in the removal of all of these cars.
This reminds me of the brick bronze situation, due to the use of sprites and names, the game was shut down. But from it the devs made an bunch of new monsters from scratch and it turned out pretty well
This is similar to how Greenville and Southwest Florida will probably be like soon.
Basically to sum it up most Roblox car game developers did what car X drift/street devs did and made car models and then rebadged the cars so they did not have the real badges.
I understand that these brands are doing this makes sense that car manufacturers are doing this because of licenses

This is classic problem with smaller indie racing games, that use original cars, only remove or exchange original brands for something similar, but not copyright.
Problem with Roblox microtransactions is classic, because games are F2P and if you want something quickly or now, you must buy roblox money or gambling in lootboxes, classic popular lootboxes in F2P games.

This was always inevitable even without DE. It would always come down to this. There was a matter of time before car companies noticed roblox car games using their cars. I had this initial fear back in the day, probably around the early days of Pacifico 2 (car game with only fictionalized cars) or when GV started changing their real life car names. But this fear faded away until recently when all of this chaos started occurring
yeah games that ive been playing like greenville or southwest florida have been slowly removing more brands (mostly cos people snitch out to them via email) like toyota/lambo/dodge, it sucks cos i owned quite a few cars from em but at the same time i understand. itll only keep happening more until ppl start making copyright-friendly versions of the cars or gta style look-alikes.
Fun fact mrt id reworking its physics systems, they call it ‘1.5’ and it is something similar to fh4 and nfs if that makes sense? It’s Arcady but also similar to a sim as well. It needs more recognition so they actually drop it ;-;

This is actually affecting me and my channel. I make a bunch of Roblox Movies on my channel and I'm big when it comes to car culture. With the brands being removed, I've had to rewrite the script to one of my films 4 times, since the films revolved around a certain amount of cars. They have fictional names and no badges, but are still the original models from real life. I get thats itcs kinda screwing with rights and whatnot, but it still affects smaller creators like me. I hope the issue is resolved soon, but looking at the currebt state, it might get worse.

Mods were never exempt from copyright law, unfortunately. Basically if something that uses copyrighted material without permission exists, the holder either doesn't know about the infringement or doesn't care (which generally is only possible with small stuff, otherwise they're pretty much forced by law to take it down or risk losing the right to take things down at all)

Most roblox driving game give roblox a bad reputation as they make it so that BADGED cars can ONLY be bought by robux. Now most games don't do this but the most popular games on the platform do, which give a bad reputation. Midnight Racing: Tokyo on the other hand try their hardest to change EVERYTHING from badges to names so that they can keep the car exactly the same as the real one without getting the copyright strike. Even changing the decals on a Honda Beat or even changing the V-TEC name to something else. That is true dedication to make sure no cars can be Copyrighted thus not losing any cars. As a bonus, I find it as one of the best handling models on the platform. Although it isn't like there is much competition.

Driving Empire player here. Honestly, it used to be a humble, nice game, but then the original dev (a single dev I think, his name was Bourgist) was replaced with a devteam called Voldex. No hate to them, but they ruined the game and caused this entire drama to start with the crate system. Bourgist never added the crates by the way, it was Voldex As an F2P, I have a decently good car (F5 Striker, limited, which costed 5 million, which took hours to grind) but after grinding for said car, there's nothing much. Car games on Roblox don't make a lot of sense since Roblox mostly targets kids, so its not rare to see people instead of racing, doing roleplays. Games like these never had much of a goal tbh, its just grind, get a better car, win better, rinse repeat until you're at the top or burnt out. Haven't touched DE for months since I got the Striker, and now that I think of it, it may have been a waste of time. The crates system was also flawed to them, I managed to get the top 2 prizes within 30 minutes with only 2 million cash because I found a loophole. Normally, if you get a duplicate of a car off the wheel, it gives you back a tiny chunk of money. However, if you sell the car you got after rolling, you get WAY more money than the duplicate compensation. Hence why (at the time) I was able to get top prize (which is removed btw, it was an F40 LM)
In all honesty, Racing games on Roblox don't feel that good. I'm not saying that there aren't any good racing games on Roblox (there are, try out Checkpoint Racing Unleashed and Speedlands V2 Demo, not advertising, just better games than DE) but if they are good, they may not be able to compare to Forza, GT, and others. Also, if they are good, they have a good chance of being dead, or not reaching 1.5k players constantly, because most Roblox players like to play the thing called Blox Fruits (a one piece game I touched for less than 15 minutes, then got bored. Has a gajillion microtransactions inside btw) which can be 10k+ players.
If I did mention anything wrong or inaccurate here, do reply to me, and I'll correct it if its valid (if you try to convince me Blox Fruit's good, that doesn't count). Thank you for reading my essay.
Oh yeah and one last thing, Voldex didn't only take over DE, they also own this Battlefield like game called Base Battles. Played it for a month, then quit since their balancing is not the best (making a gun OP then nerfing it within a week or so)
