The most punishing defense in NFL history

Imagine if a defensive could still do this to opposing offenses still!!! The scheme was such an attack on the offense.

Yeah, that's why they won SO MANY titles. Wait, what? They only won one? Huh.

The 1940 Chicago Bears (won NFL Championship 73-0!) and the 1963 Chicago Bears (only 1 loss w/an equally dominant defense) deserve consideration as well. GO BEARS 🏈🏈🏈

Yea I never thought of NFL teams prior to the Super Bowl!!! I’ve got to dig deeper!

I think the 85 Bears are the best team since the merger. What other NFL team can say they got both a Super Bowl and a Grammy nomination?

That was my point :) Not only did they destroy souls on the football field, they left a HUGE impact on the POP culture of the NFL too!

The Chicago Bears in the 1985 playoffs destroyed teams in the playoffs beat New York Giants 21-0 and Los Angeles Rams 24-0 and beat New England Patriots 46-10 at super bowl Louisiana Superdome super bowl shuffle.

THATS A VERY SIMPLE QUESTION TO ANSWER! IF ALL THESE TEAMS WENT HEAD TO HEAD WHO WOULD WIN? BEARS Would BEAT EVERYONE.TOO TOUGH ON DEFENSE AND WOULD TIRE EVERYONE WITH WALTER ON THE GROUND.

I don't know if NFL offenses could scheme for the attack. Screen games are quick hitters, but they had great LBs to cover sideline to sideline

I don't agree with your opinion. Certainly the 1985 Chicago Bears had perhaps the best defense in NFL History, but their offense was pretty mediocre. They depended too much on Payton's running attack and forcing turnovers from the opponent and still had very low scores in most games. Dan Marino and the Dolphins gave them a blowout with everything and their great defense and broke their undefeated record of 11-0.

      Who is your overall then?
Yea the Bears defense was just so dominant to me, they literally changed the way the NFL played. Jim McMahon did make it to the pro bowl. I also think of all the legends and personalities on this squad. Thanks for the comment

@@VictoryDayz009that Dan Marino win was just a lucky fluke that overrated turd couldn't even get past the Patriots that year

@@VictoryDayz009the offense was kind of mediocre dude the defense was so damn dominating it carried them off through the year through the playoffs and the super bowl

Better than the 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers? Outside of running back, where? The 1985 Bears were a great defense (to be fair, from 1983 to 1987 they were great), but look at the competition: 1985 playoff quarterbacks were Phil Simms (above average), Dieter Brock (garbage), Tony Eason (mediocre at best) and a washed up Steve Grogan. The 1978 Steelers had to go through the defending AFC Champion Denver Broncos, the Houston Oilers of Earl Campbell and the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Dallas Cowboys of Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, the Doomsday Defense and Tom Landry. Also, the amount of Hall of Famers on the Steelers is staggering compared to the 85 Bears. The secondary of the 78 Steelers are vastly superior to the 85 Bears. No question that the 85 Bears are in the top 5, but no defense dominated as well or as long as The Steel Curtain.
