I'm dumbfounded. A testament to how less is more. Everything about this Suburban is perfect and just looks like it always belonged to the truck. Nothing is out of place. Amazing design elements, the entire truck is gorgeous, the colors and the metals. That front grille alone... Your team and you are awesome and thank you for sharing. Very inspiring.
if i could actually afford this build/car, i'd want the 4th door. it'd just be annoying to not have it. But i can't.... so it makes zero difference what i think
I think I’ve said this a bunch of times on different videos but I mean it this time. This is an absolute work of art! Thank you for sharing it Jonathan. ❤❤❤
Sincere thanks for showing archival, actual and other footage while narrating rather than letting ego take over. Well done. Very professional. Oh i forgot, another big thanks for no lame music.
Congratulations to you Mr. Ward and your team. Countless hours of work coupled with countless amounts of love resulted in this beauty. Thank you for showing us your art. Greetings from Córdoba, Argentina
Another fantastic creation, the only thing I would add is tinted windows because you know people are gonna be absolutely STARING at this masterpiece. Kudos to the lucky owner.
I would also add the window tint to preserve the interior little better from the sun. I doubt the truck lives outside but still extended periods of direct UV sunlight can make quite the difference.
I got to see this car in person the other week and it is absolutely beautiful and perfect, the attention to detail is soooo ridiculous and it has one of the most beautiful engine bays I’ve ever seen. Plus the wheels are extremely beautiful
Such gorgeous work, as always! Just what I needed this morning to motivate me to get out in my workshop. Thank you for showing us the level of work that can be accomplished. Let me share my mantra - "The ability to see something in the mind's eye, something that doesn't exist, and to MAKE it exist, is the closest to magic and metaphysics that we humans will ever get."
Wow - as a mechanical engineer - this is a dream project. Plus the industrial design aspect and how you establish the design language and maintain the integrity and consistency throughout the platform. Thanks for sharing the build out and drive.
This is outrageous ICON... very cooll of you to highlight the collaboration with Stone's metal work because that fourth door - and it's fabrication story - is a feat! I'm looking at my new favorite vehicle ever made...
Awesome execution. You keep going with design where many others leave off . The finished product is so much more than a restoration or Resto Mod. Thanks for sharing with us.
never seen a nelson in a project. His genius is coming back down to a smooth idle.. one is in for a real surprise if to challenge it. amazing combination.
L-O-V-E the wheels!! Like the 80's Trans Am. The attention to the tiniest detail is such a hallmark of ICON. The research/education in design for this project is staggering!! Classic, uncluttered and elegant. Another AMAZING creation!
DDDAAAMMMNNN!!! Thank you for this video. This is nice nice nice you are an artist innovative all the above this is really nice. Thank you for posting this video. Thank you.🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽 over here on the big island of Hawaii
man that road is like ten minutes from my house, wish I would've seen that thing driving in person. seems like you and the team really went all out on this one haha
i had a 70 suburban mine was dark blue and had a big block oldsmobile hurst 350 with an auto trans mine was a little bit lower than yours .. beautiful ride makes me miss mine allot
Always a joy to see your creations I've been following you guys forever. Never fail to disappoint. Keep up the good work. Maybe one day I could own a derelict super sleeper
This guy's other-worldly with the designs he's produced. I'd like to see more traditional "cars" versus the trucks and SUV's that he focuses on. Unbelievable effort goes into what he does!
I saw Nelson Racing Engines and clean build and I had to like. Big Ups and Bless Up. Hope to see you guys continue as we move into the hydrogen and electric era...
I think we past a point some years ago where there is only so much you can do to a vehicle to make people go WOW! Now, every builder has a cnc machine available, sponsors out the wahzoo, designers and engineers, etc. these cars are so far removed from what hot rodding was that only the people with big money to waste can have one designed and made. Even then, most people I meet and discuss these sema builds with tell me they aren’t interested. When something is completely done, the fun is over for most of us. To each their own though. Gotta do what makes you happy. Me, I’ll take 67 fastback gt500 clone, tattered and worn looking with decent engine and good brakes and tires and just cruise.
I had a classmate in High School whose dad had 69 or 70 that he inherited when his dad passed away a couple years ago. He got lucky and was in a temp controlled garage but it still needs alot of work. He's going to build it into a 80's inspired hot rod, Mint green paint, redo the woodgrain on the sides, Enkie 92 Wheels, Grey tweed interior.....
That grill is a work of art, executed beautifully even if the headlight bezels have a strong resemblance to the headlight bezels of a 1979 Ford Courier truck. It's still a nicely done superb quality 1 piece grill. Unlike the Courier's that I assume is put together from several pieces of flimsy tin shaped , stamped ,maybe some spin formed pieces in there just assuming, but it doesn't compare to the work of art that was machined from one huge solid chunk of 6061T6 aluminum. The fit & finish of the one piece grill can't be compared to the Ford Courier's front end. Different social classes. I just happened to see a slight resemblance in the headlight bezels. 🤔😉😉😁
I love it other than the way small clock in the middle of the dash. Plus some tires with a slightly larger side wall looks much better in a super large ride like this. If I ever win The Lotto this place is my first call!!!
im a huge residental brutalist architect fan. all you cars are outstanding but this is something ive always dreamed of. love the platform . an urban assult vehicle than runs like a 911 turbo. i do see some retro futurism ques the space age 50's style with the intereior and trim. outstanding build. cheers
VF on the Left Front Door is quite a subtlety. FUNFACT, and for your amusement, I can inform you that VF is a common abbreviation for "Venstre Foran" meaning "Left Front" in the scandinavian languages (Norwegian and Danish, probably also in Swedish).
Someday I will commission a build from you, I've been following your videos for a couple of years and my favorite builds are the 40's & 50's derelict's ....Someday Amigo Javi G.
Farnsworth House meets Reformer, oh my. The style ICON brings, may be lost on some admirers. Going into the fantastic weeds to get ‘van der Rohe’-esque , takes this to a sublime level. Thx Jonathan. P.S., are structures next?
This build is totally off the charts. You and your team hit it out of the park. Absolute eye candy.
Until you found it cost 1 million dollars 💵
Again, totally off the charts. haha
Very inspiring.
this is a Perfect Build, You can go anywhere with this Suburban, You can Fit Family and Friends at once.
I would have left it a 3 door. Appart from that, superb job ICON.
Yes, agreed
Yes, less is more … 😂
make it a 2-door then.
if i could actually afford this build/car, i'd want the 4th door. it'd just be annoying to not have it. But i can't.... so it makes zero difference what i think
Same here!!!
I think I’ve said this a bunch of times on different videos but I mean it this time. This is an absolute work of art! Thank you for sharing it Jonathan. ❤❤❤
The attention for the details...is amazing.. no bolt and nut forgotten 👏👌💪👍
Been waiting for this one.... For years! ;)
How does one define a next level build? Well this is no doubt it. Truly seamless integration of design and function. Love this!
Watching like 14 years of NRE you tube videos, I spotted that as an NRE engine/turbo setup instantly. Nice!
Sincere thanks for showing archival, actual and other footage while narrating rather than letting ego take over. Well done. Very professional. Oh i forgot, another big thanks for no lame music.
Nice Ride... I had one back in the 80s... it was quite the Concert Cruiser!!! From New Haven County Ct to Midtown Manhattan!!!
I've watched many of Icon's build reviews. This one is wayyy up there with the best. Superb work Mr Ward.
Congratulations to you Mr. Ward and your team.
Countless hours of work coupled with countless amounts of love resulted in this beauty.
Thank you for showing us your art.
Greetings from Córdoba, Argentina
And as the wiseguys in SoCali' say..'countless loads of..scrilla'
As always, another awesome build 👍💪👌👏👏👏...
And please, be "geeky"... Love all the details 😁👍💪👌👏👏👏👏👏...
Ty Jonathan, for the work and creativity
Thanks for the support!
Totally nuts. What a next level build. Awesome work
As a product designer I was blown away by your process. Amazing.
I got to see this car in person the other week and it is absolutely beautiful and perfect, the attention to detail is soooo ridiculous and it has one of the most beautiful engine bays I’ve ever seen. Plus the wheels are extremely beautiful
Some of the coolest parts on your builds are hidden from sight. I love stuff like that. Also, Nelson engine, wow.
Turbo charged party barge nuff said love it😮 I'm in awe
Such gorgeous work, as always! Just what I needed this morning to motivate me to get out in my workshop. Thank you for showing us the level of work that can be accomplished.
Let me share my mantra - "The ability to see something in the mind's eye, something that doesn't exist, and to MAKE it exist, is the closest to magic and metaphysics that we humans will ever get."
That intake is the best I have ever seen on an LS!!!! Darth Viper vide. So cool.
Wow - as a mechanical engineer - this is a dream project. Plus the industrial design aspect and how you establish the design language and maintain the integrity and consistency throughout the platform. Thanks for sharing the build out and drive.
As usual, you are a mad man in the best kind of way. So rare to see so much thought go into every single detail like you do!
Another STUNNING build by ICON!! ICON has quickly become a favorite build shop as of late!
This is outrageous ICON... very cooll of you to highlight the collaboration with Stone's metal work because that fourth door - and it's fabrication story - is a feat! I'm looking at my new favorite vehicle ever made...
Thanks!!
Awesome execution. You keep going with design where many others leave off . The finished product is so much more than a restoration or Resto Mod. Thanks for sharing with us.
Extremely well done. What an amazing build.
love this build. one of my favorite icon derelicts.
waiting for that diesel benz limo that was in the shop tour a while back. thanks for sharing
Absolutely gorgeous! Well done.
never seen a nelson in a project. His genius is coming back down to a smooth idle.. one is in for a real surprise if to challenge it. amazing combination.
Absolutely stunning build. Bravo!
Absolutely love it.... wish it was mine the design is flawless and the attention to detail is next level!
Brilliant build. Every detail is pure eye candy.
You’ve outdone yourself with this one, Mr Ward
I would take this one over any newer one out there! Hardcore. Easy to work on and fast!
I have a 1970 C-10, it's wild how different you made this look, while also keeping it the same.
L-O-V-E the wheels!! Like the 80's Trans Am. The attention to the tiniest detail is such a hallmark of ICON. The research/education in design for this project is staggering!! Classic, uncluttered and elegant. Another AMAZING creation!
This thing is amazing, I’m in love with this build! I would be the coolest dad ever if I picked up the kids from school in this!
God I wish I could afford your vehicles. Love love love your work!
What an amazing blend of opposite worlds. Stock yet custom, subtle yet radical.
Sick build, well executed!
Absolutely awesome in every way! It's amazing how what doesn't show, stands out at beautiful and elegant!
Jonaton you have nailed IT
That Vehicle is "Poetery in Motion" Kudos
Speechless! Absolute Art!
Beautiful work 👌🏽
Amazing. Such a beautiful build
Jonathan, is that your Omega Constellation? Lots of significance with that watch. I also have one!
amazing build. Nice Job Mr Ward. You guys never disappoint
This is astonishing, Great job!
I'd love to see this treatment to a first gen Monte Carlo. I've never liked the dash. Always LOVED the body. GREAT WORK! Magnificent car.
My favorite so far! Amazing! Thank you.
I’d love to be able to buy some of those custom pieces. Especially the dash components. Such a great modern touch without going overboard.
That heat shielding is off the chart!
man that road is like ten minutes from my house, wish I would've seen that thing driving in person. seems like you and the team really went all out on this one haha
Totally killed it! One amazing ride.
Extraordinary Build Jonathan + Team! 🙏🏼💪🏼🖖🏼
i had a 70 suburban mine was dark blue and had a big block oldsmobile hurst 350 with an auto trans mine was a little bit lower than yours .. beautiful ride makes me miss mine allot
You guys are nuts I love it
Always a joy to see your creations I've been following you guys forever. Never fail to disappoint. Keep up the good work. Maybe one day I could own a derelict super sleeper
I admire your work man. One day I’ll be your client!
Fabulous as always but the front park lights look like they came from Walmart
The FJs you build are my favorite, but this almost makes me change my mind.
I think we past a point some years ago where there is only so much you can do to a vehicle to make people go WOW! Since 1973 I have wondered why International had 4 doors starting in 1961 and GM took 12 years to install the fourth door.
Thanks for the explanation.
looks spectacular thanks.

That power plant looks like the alien hiding under the hood getting ready to fight predator.
Beautiful Build
Very classy. I love it. Great work
love the alien intake and mirrored turbos NRE is nuts. Tom used to be big on the making youtube video. crazy man!! cheers
Love it, this is AWESOME!
Rode all the way from the Oregon coast to Alberta Canada and back with my family in one of those in the 1970's.
The rims remind me of the hub caps on a ‘78 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser station wagon. Nice!
Selling cool for an egregious price.
Amazing !! Just Amazing 😁😁
I love it other than the way small clock in the middle of the dash. Plus some tires with a slightly larger side wall looks much better in a super large ride like this. If I ever win The Lotto this place is my first call!!!
здорово сделано, очень приятное повествование от автора, интересно слушать и смотреть)

Another GREAT build!!!! Sorry to hear RTech did you wrong as well..

A work of art!
...the cup indents in the glove box door would a great place to implement magnetized tumblers like the '57-58 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham.
Someday I will commission a build from you, I've been following your videos for a couple of years and my favorite builds are the 40's & 50's derelict's ....Someday Amigo Javi G.

I did work with an architect to design my dream home… Just to realize I can’t afford my ideas in architecture!
@@ICON4x4Design keep dreaming and making these outstanding rides, you’ll get there. Your content is too shelf.
That would be top shelf
I wish I had some fuckyou money…I ain’t mad that burb Is sick as always.
