Honestly, not too sure if my response is unacceptable but the potatoes are used for business purposes to create food- they're not wasting the potatoes and they can grow the potatoes...
There's plenty enough food to feed every person on earth, with extra. But distributing it to all of them is impossible. It costs a lot of money to create and transport food. And the people who are starving (you guessed) are poor. Usually only poor people actually starve to death. I'm not saying they are lazy, but they can move to a place with jobs, get one and buy food. Classes of people have to exist so the people who work hard can live a decent life. Economics 101. If you don't want to think of the economic implications of things, then don't comment about them.
To those complaining about air in the bags. That "air" is actually nitrogen. This is like a preservative to stop the chips from getting stale or tasting different.
Best thing about working there is you get to try mostly every product they carry everyday at work! But I do get tired of it sometimes just eating chips, cookies, and other snacks for break and lunch all day at Frito.

What a fine craft, chip making. I should try to make them sometime. I doubt I would be as good as these pros though. I just think its nice when people make the effort to get a simple thing right and do their best to make a good honest product.
Six thousand miles and several years after making a Facebook post about how much I enjoy eating Chili Cheese Fritos and washing it down with Cherry Coke through a Twizzlers straw I aquired a wonderfully "We know how to win" sloganed promotional. Thumbs up!
Fritolay needs to add a resealable strip on each and every bag sealed with chips originally at the plant for once after they are opened by the consumer. Adjust the grams in your bags if you need to as well, and you can raise the price on bags of chips in cents to accommodate the price to make the plastic bags. I would pay pennies more to get a resealable bag that would make my chips last longer.
you guys ready for this? Air is pumped into the bag as a helpful cushion to keep the chips from crumbling more... BOOM.. Leave the chip production process to the professionals please. They might know what they are doing by now?
SHOZ714 lol anyone can fry/bake a thin slice of potato and season it. The way you said that was fucking retarted lol what chip professionals? I would love to know of a chip professional
I believe the air acts as a cushion to help protect the chips from being crushed so easily.. Though I agree it is disappointing and a bit of a waste to have a bag 3/4 empty. Maybe it's Carbon Dioxide and that's how they get rid of access carbon, bag it up and sell it to suckers and get a Carbon Credit to boot...
Cheese and Rice Really? So automated equipment which is designed to produce thousands of bags the same messed up on your bag. Why didn't it just completely rip you off and give you the one? Like i's messing with you?. Seems unlikely but feel for you if that happened.
FrisbeeShots27 Hey do you ever make your own? I know it can be work. But, with the slicers and gadgets today I have simply left chip skins on and slice a pile, quick fry in canola. Not bad with one of those old style fry daddy things and just use it for stuff like that. Do it a few time and it get like a simple routine. 25 minutes from time of plugging in fryer before slicing. Can yield a full pound or two easily. Just, with the left overs, don't forget to bag them with some air so any possible left over moisture has a place to go instead of back into the potato making them mushy. )))
Randy Woodworth do you understand that you pay for the net weight of the potatoes and the government is in charge of that USDA. The air on the bag is to maintain the potatoes for a longer time.
edna, have you ever bought a can of pringles crisps. They go all the way to the top of the can. where is the air inside a can of Pringles that maintain the potatoes for a longer time. They put more air in the bags of chips because there is less chips and we pay more and get less.
if you imagine how much 1 potato cost, then how much 1 potato weighs, we are getting less than half a potato per bag for the price of a small bag of potatoes
Haha, I thought kind of the same thing. I mean...it's great that they're doing *something*, but it in no way "balances" the sheer amount of disposable plastic they're sending out into the world.
