Eu tenho 54, e quando era garoto só quem ganhava era o pessoal do Havaí, Austrália e EUA, acho isso fantástico, temos três brasileiros entre os quatro melhores do mundo , nunca pensei que isso aconteceria.

Que final épica com os brazukas dominando o surf mundial. Eu sendo Sebastianense fiquei um pouco triste com a derrota do Medina mas, tenho que admitir que o Ítalo está "voando" e mereceu este título. Parabéns ao potiguar e feliz Natal a todos do cenário do surf.

God bless Italo he deserves ! His heats were more difficult , besides being very cosntant during the whole tour. He deserves even more bcoz he has been working very hard since the begining of his career . He is from the Northeast, Rio Grande do Norte, from Brazil , things to acquire is is very hard , because living in Rio or Sao Paulo which are the "center "of media and enterteainment, it means easy acce$$ to them and also , you have more probabilities to accompish goals. By the way the interference between Medina and Caio Ibeli was, "by the rules"but is doen't mean that is correct! Medina 2 x Champion doesn 't need that to win ( he was supposed to play even more fair coz of that !) That's why I told Italo deserves coz above all he is humble and play fair , the quality that a real champion needs. Congratsssss Italo, I rooted for YOU. By the way I'm from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and proud of being from the Northeast. Merry Christmas Italo and keep going ... ALOHA!

Well done Italo! To be honest I am glad Gab did not win, his burn in his previous heat is NOT the sort of conduct that should be accepted in Surfing. I hope he receives disciplinary action for it.

I second that! Ever since he dropped in on Kelly Slater a few years ago, that was a large wave and could have caused injury, no respect for him since then. A little wave like this stunt he just pulled by dropping in was unsportsmanlike for sure but, that one on Kelly could have easily caused serious injury. If he needs to do that to win then I suggest he move to Austin, Texas and bunk up with Lance Armstrong.
The disciplinary action is having only 1 wave count. every surfer should know the rules and use them to their favor, if you gona win with just 1 wave by all means do interfere, its playing by the rules, its being smart, there´s nothing wrong with it. Also it was a bit of poetic justice considering the whole interference debacle on Portugal that pretty much cost Medina the world title was super bullcrap, Medina had priority there, the refs made the wrong call and later didn´t admit it.

Oh wow, I was not aware of that but I would feel the same way, surfing is already dangerous enough without someone forcing you back into the zone! I have not surfed in a while but, in 74 spent two and a half months living on the beach at La Libertad in El Salvador when it was still a secret spot. 100% rock and boulders on the bottom, I would not want anyone dropping in on me forcing me back into the zone, I only know the one video I saw of Gabriel doing it to Kelly. In the mid 70s I also lived right on the beach in North County San Diego and played music full-time at night so surfed many sessions by myself up and down that area of the coast. Have gone to the hospital for stitches before, would not want it to be because someone cut me off and forced me back to get zoned!

Não foi um pipeline dos sonhos com altas ondas, mas foi um sonho ver dois brasileiros fazendo final e os dois brigando pelo título mundial que dia para o italot realizou seu sonho de criança como o medina realizou o dele tbm, mas que merecido. Eu torço para o medina mas estou mt feliz com a vitoria do ítalo, afinal nordeste brasil no topo do surf! Deixo aqui minha indignação com quem organiza o evento priorizar triagem não né.. Só tira as ondas do evento principal.. Digo mais se pipeline tivesse igual ano passado altas ondas o Gabriel sido tricampeão pq o cara é diferenciado dms!
