A lot of information to take in but excellently presented with clear instructions. I recently bought the iPhone 14 Pro. My previous iPhone served me well for about 5 years. I take a lot of pictures as a busy eBay seller and I was used to the old XR but never really satisfied with the picture quality. Pictures tell the story - if you have excellent colortrue pictures it will make a lot of difference in sales (art, antiques, porcelain).
So I was looking around on TH-cam for someone with an organized mind to explain to me this camera and I came across your video. I thoroughly enjoyed your detailed effort to explain the functions of this technolodical wonderwork by Apple. Thank you for a fantastic tutorial 🙏. I found it while I was looking for an answer to why when I take a selfi (Front camera), the photo is so different than the preview. What I see on the screen is not the result I get when I take the photo. Eventually I tried to take a screenshot while in preview but it was hard to not slightly move the iPhone. Still the screenshot gave me the result that the photo didn’t. I don’t understand why. I will try some other definitions tomorrow and see if it’s help.

When I on the timer, it takes in burst mode and i dislike this. How do fix this. Some suggested i then on the HDR in camera, but i don't see it. Any suggestion.

Great video. One issue I had today when ordering food at a restaurant. I was given an option to scan my debit card. Unfortunately as I tried to scan my card the torch came on automatically ( I’ve done this with no problem on my iPhone 11) and the resulting shine made it impossible to read the card details. Is there a way to deactivate the torch during this process?

Not yet! I mainly use the standard camera app and sometimes ProCam
@@MountMediaChannel well if the standard app is good enough for you, it's certainly good enough for me! With all these apps out there, I just assumed the standard app was deficient in some way; or somehow detracted from a professional workflow.

i want it to stop adjusting automatically. I take a picture and I see that the colors are quite vivid for a split second after I am done taking a picture and then it adjusts to whatever Apple thinks is best and it looks terrible. How do I disable that?
Is this for the front cam? If yes, i hate it. It becomes filtered just like samsung’s front cam and the quality is not good 😡

Question - I have a 14 Pro Max and I don't know if my phone has a problem or if it's something to do with my iOS 16.2 Beta that I'm running. But using a finger in front of the three camera lenses to work out which lens is which, I found something interesting - and disturbing. Switching to 0.5x on the app switches to the left lens - the ultra wide lens. No problem. Switching to 1x or 2x switches to the main lens (bottom right lens). Again - no problem so far. HOWEVER - switching to 3x, which I thought was supposed to switch to the telephoto lens (top right), it DOESN'T - it remains on the main lens (bottom right). Tap and hold so the zoom wheel pops up shows that even zooming to the max - it stays on the main camera lens. NOT the telephoto lens. The only way I can get it to switch to the tele lens (top right) is to put the camera into Portrait mode. Can anyone try this and replicate it, or see if it's just my phone? Can anyone work out if this is a bug in iOS 16.2 Beta, or if it is a problem with my 14 Pro Max hardware?
In low light (so if you hold your finger in front of the lens) the iPhone should switch automatically from the tele-lens to the main camera and crops in - because the main camera performs much better in low light
@@MountMediaChannel Good thought, but I don't think it's the answer. I initially set the camera to 3x, which in theory should set it to the tele lens. I then slowly move a finger in front of the MAIN camera lens - NOT the tele (upper) lens - and the finger blanks out the main lens - and the view on screen. At no stage do I need to cover the tele lens at all - so it should never "see" insufficient light. I've just tried it again to confirm - and it is totally repeatable. I'm guessing it must be a bug in the beta version of iOS 16.2 that I'm running.
Just confirmed the bug using a Q-tip rather than my finger, so definitely no low light issues. Always just keeps cropping in on the main camera lens, and never the tele lens. Only way I can get tele lens working is switch to Portrait mode. I've submitted this as a reproducible bug in iOS v16.2 Beta.

I can reproduce this too (14 pro, 16.1.2) however it's only during closeups. It will switch lenses and use the 3x if it's above a certain distance away. But I highly doubt it'll be fixed, because my four year old XS, 16.1.1) does exactly the same thing.

I just bought the iphone 14 pro max and i can say the phone is phenomenal but the picture quality is very strange. AI neural engine is making the pics look worse then in the preview. Considering i just came from the Pixel 6 which obliterates the iphone in photo neural processing. Apple needs to fix their neural processing ASAP!

😭 I want to know why my photos and videos change color when I upload them on IG... I bought the iPhone 14 cus' of its camera and now I can't upload my product videos on IG cus' they look darker or like Orange .. even my skin looks a bit yellow like if I used 2 filters... Not possible with the standard camera app - you need a third party app for that
