Wow, this sounds better than the actual Wishbone Ash leaded by Andy, this is real Wishbone in its beginings, sounds great, Martin Turner you are amazing musician, love
This piece of music ( Handy ) is a classic example of prog jazz. To me this is Wishbone Ash. Martin Turner picked up the best 2 guitarists to do it right. And the drummer is bang on. Come to Canada Martin. Cheers.
I must say Martin Turner is WA to me and having spoken to him a few times over the last ten years comes across as the consumate professional and a bloody nice bloke. It's a shame Andy Powell got the rights to the name though I wish him no ill will. What I would really love to see is the original four get together one last time. I last saw that line-up around 1989/90 and it was special. Martin's current crew are really good and to me, sound more like the original band than the AP version. Danny Wilson has a good feel for the Ted Turner parts. I still go to see them whenever I can!! Nostalgia is great!!
My friends are the authentic 'reincarnation' of Wishbone Ash, the real spirit carried on by Martin. The greek venues and the fans there are awesome. All the musicians performing of a very high level [let's forget Mr. Powell's (cover)-band]. Hope to see them back again very soon 👍🏼
Lmao. Sounds like high school sour grapes to me. Andy's band is fantastic. And at least they play the US. This whole Martin vs Andy shit is immature crap.
@@willymccabe6602 I just watched a recent performance by powell's band. About 5 months ago so quite current. It was bloody awful. tired and lack lustre. powell is just milking an old cow with hired hands that are not in this ball park. It really was awful. the vocals were dire and the drums and bass were dire. NOT Wishbone Ash at all. Made me sad really.
I see myself in the public :D What a great concert, WA's my favorite group They played more than 3 hours, this was fantastic Thank you to have posted this video !
Get it, Ahmet. Wishbone Ash's debut remains my favourite guitar album. This live performance of Handy is excellent, but the original recorded version is better.
A. P's band would have problems to play this gem without the feeling and spirit of the original bass player and his excellent musicians in the tradition of the original sound, not at least with the original sound engineer (!) up to nowadays.
You are having a giraffe on here nothing near as good as Andy Powell and his band….thank god Andy is still going releasing new music….Martins is more of a tribute band but to be fair his bass playing was always superb….cheers
@@raynic1173 how much NEW material has Martin released for gods sake absolutely nothing he totally depends on his tribute to Argus and now Live Dates……it is played well But nothing new…imho cheers
@@mozartsmate6358 Yes I have, and it is much better than Martin's. Why do you think the three original members voted Martin away from the mic? Yeah, it goes back that far.
@@mozartsmate6358 It is common knowledge that Martin was voted away from the microphone by Andy, Laurie, and Steve, a unanimous vote. Now, either you dont know your WA history or else you suffer from denial.
Their first album, their best one. And I was fifteen...
yep me too mate and i still love this heavenly sound
First album is the best album for me also.
This is my all time favourite WA song. Martin Turner is the world's best bass player.
Really ??????? Come on great player but best mmm…..imho don’t think so but your opinion just giving mine in return….cheers
You really need to hear a few more.
Amen! Agree 100%
He's got a good band.
Wow, this sounds better than the actual Wishbone Ash leaded by Andy, this is real Wishbone in its beginings, sounds great, Martin Turner you are amazing musician, love
Best Ash lineup !
I saw Martin and his WA in Weert, the Netherlands. Awesome!! I told Martin:"When I was in the 70th a teenager I listened more to you then to my mum!"
Sheer and awesome bassist ASH MAN 💓 I salute , real GEM

They didnt know it was progressive!!! This is a bullshit, backwards looking term.
An absolute Gem.

100 % confirmed
Totally agree with that, WA for me was Martin Turner. As a bassplayer myself I like his melodic playing
That's because Martins Bass was a huge part of Wishbone and Andy Powell has got some guy who is average at best.
Can only imagine the electricity that he and Andy could make reunited! I loved this first WA album, changed me forever!!

Let's not say too much about the narssisist and his covers band🙄

Oh I so love this song. Excellent version!

Ich liebe dieses Lied, gaaanz alt. Aus meiner Jugend, vielleicht war ich sechzehn.
Martins bass playing and sound! This band is soo good!
Absolutely fabulous !

Great stuff. Always one of my favourite WA songs.

Martin Turner what a great guitarist and Tommy Powell to and a fantastic underated band
I meant to say Andy Powell brain fart
It seems to me Martin Turner exactly is the creative face of the Wishbone Ash.
great set..great musicians
Fabulous 🙏
Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!
i like, i like, i like this
Po raz pierwszy słucham wersji koncertowej utworu "Handy"
Smooth!
Martin turner is wishbone ash
Brilliant. Powell can get stuffed.
KYTTARO THE BEST
Have seen Martin's band 3 times now. Have to say that they are much more enjoyable than Errr Wishbone Ash!. (i 've seen Andy's Band as well).
great great great....
What a treat!
Pretty fuckin awesome.
Tim Brown.. This guys drumming is so good. Such a shame he has now moved on.

still do not have the eponymous debut??

Marty is nulli secundus!!
Seriously...bunch of clowns downing Andy's Wishbone Ash? So you can't just appreciate both versions? Do you feel smart taking sides?
Why no bass?
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
Never listen to MT. Andy all the way! Only live Handy I've found.

That was a yawn fest. Almost fell asleep and then Martin started singing, and in the totally wrong key. What a shame.
Totally in the correct key, just struggling to reach the notes a little, he is74. Have another listen when you've sobered up..
Have you heard Mr Powell's singing.?
