Getting access to Jonathan fixed his glasses, tightened his tie, buttoned his shirt, watered his crops, raised his credit score, and lowered his blood pressure 20 points

      Johnathan, the general purpose person.

    • @alexmarian4642
      @alexmarian4642 ปีที่แล้ว +149

Plot twist: His diet consists primarily of various candy stolen from Paediatric, so the low-sodium low-cholesterol diet means his BP was bordering on low despite the chronic stress. Lowering it by a further 20 points now means he has pathologically low blood pressure. Ophthalmologist swoops in victorious, claiming that Johnathan must be returned immediately to protect Family Medicine’s health, and order is restored

He loved his job, but he worked extremely hard at it. After he passed away, we actually came across a form letter from the hospital essentially telling him to get his damn charts finished or else!
(They really wouldn't have done anything, but he did tend to get behind in his charts 😄 He definitely could have used a full-time Johnathan!🤣)
He taught Family Medicine at the University of Alberta for almost 20 years and always made sure to encourage residents rotating through the clinic to consider Family Medicine as their career path. Just reviewed a claim for an out of network orthopedist this week who did a shoulder arthroscopy. Charges were 125k for a 1.5 hour procedure and those are just the professional charges and not the facility charges. Medicine is beyond broken. Even out payments to the gatekeepers who bust their backs to keep their patients out of the hospital and healthy.

I'm so happy that Family Med finally got Jonathon's help! Well-deserved and long-deserved.
I also love that when Jonathon and the Ophthalmologist exchanged nods, you could tell in that brief moment Ophthalmology is most likely, himself, a former Jonathon.
(I liked that Jonathon seemed actually happy to be able to help Family Medicine out, too.)

This one was particular special, thanks for this. Family doctors are indeed the 'backbone" of medicine. As a patient, I'm glad to see that at least some MDs (at least You!) value them for what they are. Just like Dr Family Medicine here, they are the salt of the earth.

The look of thunder 'pon Jonathan's brow at the accusation that HE lost the keys was amazing. That single held look is a whole-day feel some days.
Everyone knows Jonathan carefully documents the placement and position of every item he has ever interacted with, held, seen, or imagined.
This is why Opth's case notes are several feet high (despite him never actually meeting the patient) and Ortho's are a post-it note stating "no bones, bro ☹️"?

I was waiting for the patients bringing him presents to be samples (because who doesn't want a faecal present?) but I think they were actually just normal genuine presents. Guess that's the distinction between birthday presents and everyday presents

I'm not a Dr. ,nor do I work in the medical field but my mother was a nurse practitioner for all of my childhood she has worked in cancer wards and nursing homes for her entire career. So as a child there was no daycare it was go to work with mom and get put to work
Doing water bottles, feeding and pushing wheel chairs and geriatric chairs ect.ect . With that said I have seen a good cross section of Doctors and the personalities that go with it and I have seen my mom check some of those personalities at the door. Your skits are killing me they are so good . Thanks for all you do

As a son of a rural Family Medicine doc, the fact his patients gave him a birthday gift is very true. Even though I moved away 20 years ago, when I go visit my parents my dad's patients will stop me in the store and ask about me (after inquiring which child I am), then tell me about how great my dad is. He was, and still is, every bit as overworked as this skit shows, but his patients love him. He's "their doctor".

❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️ This is my favorite video yet!! You made Family Medicine's dreams come true!! I can't believe how happy I am for him! Thank you, Dr. G!! 😊😊😊
So, before your videos I had no idea Scribes existed (as they intend, no doubt), and when my dermatologist started talking to thin air, and then told me she was talking to her scribe, I literally did a double take behind me and said, "You have a Jonathan?!?!" She replied, yes, but she is working remotely." I am awed by the power of the Scribe to even read minds. And SO confused. WHY DON'T ALL FAMILY PRACTICE DOCS HAVE A SCRIBE??
