If the fan motor bearings were seizing up, wouldn't the amperage draw of the motor be higher?

Hi, Walter this is Jermey McGuire.
I appreciate what you’re doing for your customer, you have gone far and beyond!!To help your customers a//c system operate the best it possibly can. To cool your customers house You got creative with the pipe insulation to quiet down the rattling noise, god bless you Walter!! You take time out of your day.”
Knowing you have a lot of no cooling calls, that means a lot to your customer your putting in the effort to do what needs to be done to get the a/c system running smoothly as possible.
I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work you do for your customers.”
You make their day once you get their a/c up and running again on a very hot day.”

Thank you for the video. Solved my issue with noise by adjusting the blade of the fan closer to the motor to prevent all the vibration.

Thank you for the wonderful videos. I have an issue I am troubleshooting, if you can chime in. IFB sends 24v to the condenser every three minutes regardless of the indoor temperature reaching to the set temperature on the thermostat. Air handler and blower fan keeps running blowing warm air through vents after outdoor unit is off and until compressor engages again in three minutes. So the condenser fan and compressor are on for three minutes and off for three minutes. Subcooling on the unit checks out fine using liquid line pressure and temperature so not suspecting high or low pressure in the system. Contactor leads receive 24v every three minutes. I have checked the main and fan control board for damage or loose wires. This short cycling is not as bad but I think I have an issue I can figure out. Thank you in advance!

Are you saying try to match the blue side of gauge to the temperature on the thermostat?

You want to next time get oem motor for carrier brands. These generic motors are to strong and will rattle whole house. Also, if fan is pushing from the side, I would get new blade with motor.

    • @KnuckleChin
      @KnuckleChin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

If the blade is balanced you don’t need a new one.

The none oem brand is much stronger. Definitely makes more noise.

Great detective work. 😃 Nice job getting rid of rattling from the cage times. Something else was buzzing when you pulled the cut off switch. I thought it was your camera but I guess it was something else. Anyway great work as usual. Enjoy your weekend. Hope you enjoyed your vacation with your wife too. Well deserved.👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂

Bud @2:35 & @33:45 it's the same loud sound, except the 2nd time it was louder bc of the cage, as you noted.
Does she need a compressor? Why act like it was better? Maybe I'm missing something.

no, you're right, this guy spent WAY too long diagnosing and replacing shit that had nothing to do with the root cause. he actively made it worse.

Could have just put a 7.5 cap and it would have increased the amps.

  • @tima.478

25:33 It's the little things for me...instead of throwing that plastic cap in the grass, why not throw it into the box the motor came out of...I mean it's RIGHT THERE! 🤨

It took you seven minutes of video to decide, "o yea i'll change the motor", we w/ common sense knew that when rounded the corner after saying it's fifteen years old and never maintained. yes change capacitor too!

Don't hate on me because I'm a layman and self taught but a motor going bad would draw more amps not less. I think you just replaced the motor that did not need to be replaced, furthermore a few drops of oil on the shaft of that motor would make it last many more years. If you look on TH-cam for keywords like "yes you can oil an air conditioner" motor, you'll find my own video where my original motor still is going on and on and on just for a few drops of oil. Otherwise, I like your video and detail that you give the viewer.

    • @WWHVAC

I get it, but I won't be in business long oiling fan motors..
