If you don't have co2 addition to your aquarium, the surface scum is mostly harmless. Yes is ugly and also will leave a mark on the glass but at least there is no risk to kill your fish. Also to prolong your suction cups you can boil them or sink in hot water but eventually you need to buy new ones...

Very nice aquarium. I love your balcony garden. I am setting up a 208 liter high-tech tank. Based on your experience, do you believe an Oase Biomaster 600 is adequate?
Thank you! Yes it's ok for 208l i had it for a 90x50x44cm tank (198liters) If your cabinet can acomodate a 850 one then would be even better but 600 can also do the job. Best of luck and inspiration!
