    For people that want travel abroad, the decision rests on you. But I will advice anyone strongly against selling their property to travel abroad. You won’t be able to buy similar property abroad without going in debt for 30 years and constantly worrying to pay it off. Your property in major cities in Nigeria will continue to appreciate so don’t sell your property to travel abroad.

    • @ObaOrisha
      @ObaOrisha ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Also, people that are doing extremely well in Nigeria shouldn’t relocate abroad but they can travel abroad frequently and eventually buy a property abroad if they can afford it so their children can stay there if they end up schooling abroad. A developing country like Nigeria is the best place to be to get rich through a business and live comfortably. The richest Nigerians live in Naija not abroad. Banky, Dbanj, Davido, Tiwa, Don Jazzy, Mike Adenuga and so much more used to live abroad but they were broke or unpopular until they moved to Naija

    This family came to Canada not to get rich but to prepare a future for their children. Today the children are all earning six figure salaries without any ‘man no man’. Networking in Canada is not the same as ‘who you know’ in Nigeria.

      Woah that’s so cool.
      In my opinion sha, networking is still man know man. Worse that it’s practically done in the open, certain roles are not available without referrals. Of course there are unicorn cases where one can get a foot in the door and climb but for the vast majority, it’s referral based.

    For those who want to relocate. I am currently in Ontario, and in Ontario there are four publicly funded school systems. There is no tuition cost to enroll your child in any public school, it’s free, you do not have to pay for textbooks, notebooks, pens, or even school bus transportation and you will get free healthcare If you are Eligible and not just for people that are here for a six months visiting or programs.
    However, if you choose to send your child to a private school, you will have to cover the expenses. And Additionally, the government provides monthly financial support for children(canada child benefit). And All these benefits are not available in Nigeria not even for naija tax payers & Canada is just so peaceful. Also about house rent, people should just cut their coat according to their sizes.

    I love how real you are. I relocated this year and now I regret seeing “abroad” as the most important thing in life. Yes abroad has its very many benefits and to God’s glory, I relocated for a tech job, but being in Nigeria has its many benefits too. I wish I enjoyed my last months in Nigeria without that strong “abroad” desire that we all have as Nigerians! Only Heaven is perfect, this earth (no matter the country you live) will always be imperfect. Abroad doesn’t always have to be the standard to measure progress in your life, you can be successful from any country you live in thanks to the internet!

    @ the question asked, you can come with your kids if your kids are of school age (grade 1 atleast ) It is doable. The wife can do a short course (like 3 months) and get a regular job if you don't want to do hustling job. I feel like the biggest challenge is are you willing to work? Thats all. People have gotten jobs from Nigeria some people have had to hustle ( I know a few). If you want to relocate ask yourself why first, I think your why is what determines how you go about it.

    • @AsyDarlynVlogs
      @AsyDarlynVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the age and number of kids.
      They’d need a car. A regular job might not be time friendly for pick up and drop off. So they’d need before and after care. The wife will also be restricted in getting part time jobs as the ones she’d see might want late night or early morning shifts.

    • @BowlsbyIbee
      @BowlsbyIbee ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@AsyDarlynVlogs yup! Kids age is a determining factor, Cos there is school bus and pick up and drop off options too. But like you said if a mom can come it makes a lot of difference. There are a no. Of supply chain jobs here in alberta that start at 8am and close at 4pm. If you work retail for about your a year you can change your availability to suit kids pick up and drop off times. Relocating is a very very big deal especially if you have kids so people need to do proper research and have a plan, like you said. Ask questions from a vast no. Of people but make decisions that suit your own circumstances. Just as you have said and like you did too!

  • @obehischronicles

    The truth is with relocation, everybody's reason is unique. The friend who is advising the family not to relocate might not understand their main reason for relocating. That being said researching where you want to relocate to and the possibility of settling easily totally depends on the amount of research and preparation that has been done before relocating. For someone with that kind of job and level of wealth to want to relocate, they must have taught it through very well. I was in this situation where I had made up my mind based on my situation but people thought I was stupid. Now I have no regrets whatsoever. Like you said have a game plan and be ready to follow it through. Nice video with realistic points. Love it❤

    • @AsyDarlynVlogs
      @AsyDarlynVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Exactly what I said.
      Have a game plan. Relocating blindly even with money is going to lead to many unnecessary costs.
      Many people don’t admit financial errors, anything that has to do with money is hardly a vocal topic. The path maybe right, the decision maybe be a clear vision from God but more people should speak up and tell people the way it is. So they don’t follow blindly, KNOW YOUR WHY

    • @BowlsbyIbee
      @BowlsbyIbee ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AsyDarlynVlogs I totally get you. I feel like the reason why people do not talk about money that much is because every step of the way you are told quite clearly that you need money to reloacte. If it is PR they tell you how much you need depending on your family size, what you will pay for rent, transportation feeding etc. How long it may take you to get a job. So you are adviced to have enough money for atleast 3-6 months. For us we even attended an orientation program where they broke things down for us, like cost of living etc. That's why for students initially there was even a limited No of hours they were allowed to work. So the monetary aspect has always been clear. Thats why if you are relocating because you want to make more money you have to re-evaluate your purpose of japa because it is expensive! except for a few professions like IT and healthcare you may not be making a good financial decision leaving Naija.

    Greener pastures are not what many people think it’s.
    I have been in Canada with my family for the past 15 years now.
    Many migrated from Nigeria especially and later regretted it.
    I know someone who was a Chief pharmacist at health care centre in a LGA.
    This man went to Canada in 2008, in June 2023 as I comment on this platform, that individual has not passed exams to fit into the system.
    The cleaning job he is doing, it was act of my persuasion he got the otherwise he doing security work.
    This is a man who was a chief pharmacist in a health care centre in Nigeria. The same scenario here applied to so many Doctors and nurses who are not able to pass their exams.
    If you have anything fetching you up to 200,000 monthly especially in Nigeria, you don’t need to go anywhere.

    • @Virus001

    The way you address the issues is very good, the problem with many Nigerians is proud and ability to restart. Many women in Nigeria are so lazy to the point that is difficult for them to brush their teeth, men as well contributed to the problem of their family. When people move to Canada they want to be manager and not a employer, plane for years to come and the main reasons why people get stressed up is because they dont get all the side bribes they are getting from Nigeria.

    I'm a first timer on here. I literally enjoyed your channel especially the truth of how things are without mincing your words. It's so sad how people just believe moving abroad is better than Nigerian when they are doing really well already where they are. I can understand if the younger ones who have just started it's hard to get a job, build a house sent kids to school etc but for someone who has already achieved that to make a decision to move anywhere abroad hmm will surely have themselves to blame. I live in the UK and was born in the Uk in the 60's. We grew up in Nigeria when I say we 3 of us were born here. Despite the fact that I was born here I still found it challenging when I first moved and eventually went back to Nigeria after having my son, I made sure he had his primary and secondary in Nigeria meaning we stayed out there for 10 good years. The system abroad is getting worse by th day recently I saw on U-tube that 12 year olds are now allowed to change their gender if they wish to without their parents consent. A lot is really going on I left then because of knife culture in the UK, today half of the kids who are into this knife culture are Nigerian kids because their parents are busy out there packing shifts and ask me how much are theyevenmaking from theses odd job, undignified job, low paid jobs. All lot of people do not have a life and to make matters worse being Africans they rarely obtain white collar roles. I am blessed to have a good job but even then my final goal now is to go back to Nija finally after so many years. I have seen it all there's nothing any more. I am proud of myself to make that decision to go back and train my son out there as now he stands out compared to kids raised here in fact those who never knew he grew up in Nija always commend him for he is well behaved, God fearing, an achiever, graduate and focused.
    I pray for direction for all our people in as much as we want the best for our kids, speaking grammar is not what makes a child, being successful in this world requires a lot both morally, physically, spiritually and academically.
    The sad thing is it is very unlikely that they will really know what. the system is like on a visit , you really need to work in the system,see how much you earn, what jobs are like, how easy to get a job and then start paying bills at the end of it all what is your take home. When people visit it's a mirage they see people in cars that they bought on higher purchase, enter there homes, see it all well equipped but on higher purchase, sofa, TV, cooker etc people will have to pay for them before you know it you are left with nothing. Another expensive thing in America I don't know about Canada is health care which is not free. Child care nkó we can go on and on. My own take is anyone who is already established in Nigeria is just going to move abroad disappointed .Half a word is enough for the wise, only if the wise is willing to hear. Best wishes.

Some people might be rich and have everything financially but no peace. With good plans for relocating I don't think there is any reason to worry. If the person is wealthy, good reinvestment plans will work. I know of families who relocated and sold everything and have made it 3 times more and landed themselves a very good job in less than a month, and some couldn't achieve anything after many years. Las las people head different and you need to know yourself and capacity.

    Relocating to Abroad or anywhere demand you ask yourself if your condition of living will be better and you still maintain your integrity. It doesn't make sense for a man doing well socially and economically in Nigeria to relocate and be doing the so called 'black job' in the name of living abroad.

    Coming from Nigeria, they must be prepared to go back to school initially (first 2yrs), to get some required skills that will allow them move into field they wish to get into. Getting professional jobs will require networking with key contacts and having some Canadian experiences no matter what it is as it is competences they look at and experiences even previous ones, can be justified. You can start developing in your field. Having a realistic approach is also critical but be intentional and focused on your intentions.

    Oh my God, Canada is absolutely NOT worth selling your properties to relocate here. Please leave all your properties unsold in Nigeria. It doesn't make sense at all to sell your house and other properties to relocate to Canada! if you're coming here as an international student, then it's not not Worth it. If you're coming as a PR, still come without selling your properties in Nigeria! Come and get the money from here. Just come with some money sufficient to sustain you at least for the first six months so upon your arrival you search for a job because getting a job in Canada is damn difficult especially if you want to do a good job. Even menial jobs can be very difficult to get especially if you're in those tiny towns

    I’m in a somewhat similar situation as per relocating. I work as a sales rep with one of the Chinese companies in my city and doing very well by Naija standards presently. 90% of what I earn comes from bonuses and side deals with my customers so there’s a bit of instability and uncertainty to what I earn at the end of the day. The job wasn’t always this good (in terms of what I earn), so I decided to pursue this japa matter and applied for a study visa early 2021. But unfortunately, I didn’t get a response from them and eventually gave up. But between that time and now, things started to get a lot better for me at the job, I completed my house, got married and gather some savings for business in case of anything. Out of the blue, this people responded to my application and granted my study visa. Now I’m in a serious fix as to whether to pursue the japa plan or just remain here and continue hustling. I’m not relocating with my family yet because my son is still less than a year and I’m not selling anything or touching my savings. My biggest consideration is leaving this job even though there’s a bit of uncertainty about the future of the job (new policies from company might close likely channels of income from the sides). What’s your advice people?

      Bro, Kindly apply for PR. Don't bother doing the study route if your heart is not there. Its very expensive, takes a lot of time for you to get to PR stage and there are absolutely no guarantees that you will get a comparable role over here.

    1. The person advising that the grass is not greener on the other side what is his/her experience on the other side?
    2. The person coming is not a fool and must have made a lot of considerations before taking the decision.
    3. A lot of people who were advising me and my family not to come are the ones same people private chatting us now to show them the way.
    4. How much is the person earning in the telecoms company? Even people who were working in the oil industry left it and are ok.
    5. It is not even advisable for one person to move before the other coming to join. It is a decision and if you want to take the risk take it, if you don’t want don’t discourage others.
