It's kind of funny that you asked "what's parsing?" towards the end of the video and then the next recommended video was a video ABOUT PARSING from Mr. Chair. If you TRULY want to know about parsing then watching that video is a great place to start.
I'm a Mentor, but I only use it for good purposes. My main goal as a mentor is to teach new Tanks how to become better tanks, and how to improve as a tank player. I do that since Tanking is the only thing I'm actually good at, and I have close to 18 years of accumulated Tanking experience across several MMO's, and in FFXIV since Heavensward. I feel confident to say that I know everything there is to know about Tanking, and I'll gladly teach anyone who asks me how to improve and what to think of as a tank.
Mentors are supposed to be helpers but they often don't even know the most basic mechanic which is why the community dubbed them the burger king crown wearers
I have noticed a trend in my time doing Alliance Raid Daily Roulettes. The more mentors there are in there, the more toxic it becomes when everyone wipes. Everytime I see chat during a wipe with more than 7 mentors in the run, it's always full of toxic ass shit.
To explain what a mentor is, they are players that intended to help teach newer players and are often placed in duties with newer players. Though there is a segment of mentor players that aren’t good at the game or are not helpful or even toxic. To become a mentor one must have 1500 player commendations from then end of a duty (easy to get as a healer or tank). Have leveled a healer, tank and DPS to max and completed one of their respective role quests in the current expansion. Role quests are similar to job quests but are specific to a certain role (e.g. tanks) and replaced job quests in later expansions as more jobs got added to the game.
The reputation is out of date. From the days when you only needed 300 comms. People would stumble into it. As well with solo friendly duties even less players are even eligible to get them than ever before.
I'm at the top of the order, fashion, raiding, helping groups prog, and parsing! What's Parsing? It's a 3rd party app that calculate your DPS and total damage done in a fight. then u upload the recorded data into a website that rank you among all other players in the same job doing the same fight.
I kinda figured glams would be at the top considering most people will say glamour is the true end game. As for me I have no i idea where I fall on the pyramid since I've been almost everyone of those lists minus Yoshi P or an afker. Been a mentor been a solo Free trial player. Done some savage tiers, owned a house ,ran an fc blah blah then I quit the game for good. Was fun when it was fun though
The beef with WoW is that many FF players used to play it and grown to dislike it, myself included. Now this is mostly memeing and personal dislikes, but it is also a way to cope with not playing a game you invested years into, a self justification so to speak :D. WoW is still the most popular mmo for a reason that does a lot of things right, I do still give it a try occasionally, but now I know I just personally prefer almost everything in FF over WoW.
@@m.3.3.w there is just not many people who played everquest, compared to wow or final, so smaller audience. Also i think there is a large portion of mmo players, who's first ever mmo was wow and not vanilla, but wotlk. Tbh i never played everquest either, my first mmo was lineage 2.😅

You're definitely a great mentor to look up to. Keep doing your absolute best at it.

Mentors are just players. There are good ones and bad ones. All the crown really means it's that they've played for a fairly long time.
I have the Mentor crown. I raid in the high end for glam. I'd like to think I'm somewhere on the line between middle and top tier.

All the pretty glams! I'm mostly a normie. I'd also say I'm a glamor person but I don't do savages/ultimates...nor do I have a house to decorate...

I'm surprised no one talks about Everquest. Or Everquest 2. Maybe they're too old?

Fun Fact : Vtubers are even lower than mentors.
