Thanks for this. Yes, it does take a bit of work to post a comparo like this on TH-cam - but it makes it worthwhile when folks like you give thanks for it. Cheers mate.
Yep... and proud of it.... I'm probably a better DJ now than I've been in the past, with a much wider knowledge of and appreciation for, just about all types of music, ranging from dubstep down to 50s and 60s and everything in between. I just DJ'd for a local high school here for example, and they loved me! :)
Yes, I think the top end smoke machines using the expensive juice can get around smoke detectors, because the mist they produce is way finer than normal. The problem here is, most customers won't pay extra to get this type of high quality equipment - everyone wants everything at a budget price!
I bought a couple of expensive moving head lights recently but would rate these laser lights as giving much better value for money than the fancy moving heads.
Yeah, laser lights look great under fog. Pity there are so many smoke detectors around in many of the clubs, meaning they often don't allow smoke to be used.
Try telling this to a lot of the clubs and hotels around the place - my experience is that as soon as you mention a smoke machine, they say no, not allowed.
This is true. I've heard of super-fancy types of fog-juice (cost more than $20 for a jug) that are supposed to be 'odorless' and not so smoggy; I wonder if there could be a solution. Cuz I luvz me some fog.
Hey Dude! I was just wondering if you happen to know anything about the ADJ Micro 3D II laser that was featured at NAMM 2016 and should be available for sale at stores soon? I'm new to lasers and LED. I DO KNOW that the casing for the Micro 3D II casing will be plastic instead of metal (like the original Micro 3D), and the IR remote is done through an App. Aside from that, do you know much about the laser itself? Are there improvements to the actual laser, etc.? Do you think I should grab the original, or wait for the Micro 3D II to come out and grab that? Thx!
I'm going to be using one of these in a small room with it 6 feet in front of me for a guitar music cover. can the laser enter my eye and cause damage even if I'm not looking at the machine
Yes, the problem though is with children, who love to run up and peer into these machines! So ideally, all laser lights should be kept well off the floor, away from curious kids.
When something says "Made in PRC" it is made in China(PRC stands for Peoples Republic of China. I think you are confusing PRC with ROC(Republic of China which is more commonly known as Taiwan).
Thanks for this, Kristy. I actually just returned last night from spending 30 days in China. What an interesting place, when you get away from the cities into the more rural, traditonal areas. I have about 200 photos to show my friends - plus some video clips from my vidcam - memories that'll last a lifetime!
Thanks for this.

great review! helped on which I wanted to get thanks!
The cost varies a bit from unit to unit, but around a hundred bucks each will get you in the ballpark.
I always use the lasers set up high on a light stand... this solves the problem of children running up and trying to peer into them.
Yeah, I'm 58.... growing old is something that happens to us all.... sooner or later...

great, except I gotta see these with a fog machine; it turns these 2-d projections into 3-d volumetric shapes and beams
first thing in the user manual seas in huge bold letter do not point at people or point at dance floor

Water based smoke machines don't set off alarms thats because its to heavy than oil based but it doesn't hit the air :(
