Think about it, she lost her father at such a young age to a drug overdose; I'm sure she was frightened that the same would happen to her children with Michael. But Michael had been told "no" basically his whole life by his dad when it came to the things he wanted to do, and I think that really drove how he lived his adult life. He didn't want to take no for an answer anymore. And it didn't help that Debbie was always there saying she'd carry his kids for him 🙄 As much as Michael was a normal human being, we have to acknowledge that he did not live a normal life.
