I’ve been a respiratory therapist over 30 years. I’ve never heard of older adults getting very ill from RSV (until Phizer started pushing their vaccine.) Too dangerous and possible side effects aren’t worth it. Say NO to Big Pharma! Stay healthy!

I’m 66, a retired school teacher…pretty healthy, but I have asthma. I had RSV recently, and was very sick for three weeks….so much so that I could barely get out of bed. I don’t think I’ve ever been that sick that I can remember. I don’t ever want to get this again.

Hi Dr. Christy. I got the Abrysvo vaccine 4 days ago. I am having pain in the sides of some of my joints. I wish I never got it. I'm scared of it now turning into that Guillian Barre disease. Got any idea how long this pain will last. Also, in about 10 days I'm due to for carpal tunnel surgery. Maybe, I shouldn't get that now? So any idea about how long the pain will last and should I have the surgery. Thank you very much.
Wow. I'm so sorry. I noticed she went ghost even though you commented three weeks ago. This was my concern. Please people do not take any injections that came out in the past five years at least and nothing called a vaccine or monoclonal antibody. The physicians are not refusing which would end the money hungry pharmaceutical industries but at least the general population can refuse. You have to be strong though because they WILL break you down-- or try to.

I have shown a strong sensitivity to Glycol which they use to produce these vacines. Scares me to even think of getting one but now my daughter who is pregnant is insisting that I have to have it or I'm not allowed to see my grandaughter for 6 months. What would you suggest I do?
First, you should be thankful your daughter cares so much to protect her daughter. This will all NOT be an issue in six months. May your granddaughter have many wonderful years ahead of her.
I understand your daughter wanting to protect her child. She should get the vaccine while pregnant, since the antibodies will be passed on to the baby. She should not put that pressure on you to get a vaccine that is dangerous for you.. The thought of developing atrial fibrillation from this vaccine is enough to stop me right there.

I had the RSV vaccine at CVS about 3 months ago. The next day, I felt awful, and my right arm, shoulder, and back hurt. I am still in a very bad way now. I am going to insist on a full doctor examination, and depending on the outcome, take legal action against CVS as I think I am perminately damaged. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Christy it's been awhile and you look lovely. I have asthma since birth, or for as long as I can remember. It was very bad as a child, then it got much better after moving to a tropical island, then left the tropical island and now it's getting bad again, but I'm not sure I want ANY vaccines. I only had two flu shots and both times I got the worst flus ever. Husband got flu shot and his entire arm turned black. So vaccines and me are not friends. I just don't know what to do anymore.

why do we need a vaccine for something that can be treated with albuterol? My son had rsv as an infant the dr sent us home with a nebulizer and albuterol. a couple days later rsv was gone. It is against u.s. law to approve a vaccine when there is already an effective treatment.

I turned 70 this year, and have already gotten my RSV vaccine after Labor Day. Georgia is one of 8 states that requires a doctor's prescription for this vaccine -- and there's been quite a breakout of RSV in our areal of the country. My wife suffered from asthma as a child -- and so I feel I'm doing this as much to protect her too.

i got shingles before that basel cell before that upper resp infection that felt like covid . test said it wasnt but i think test is wrong. i also think plizfer vaccines messed up my immune sysem. I had one dose and had side effects right after hand going numb chest pains. then neck went out for three days. then bladder spasms for 8 hours

Had quadruple bypass 12/2021. Mild bronchiectasis and apical emphysema but am asymptomatic. Blood lipids well within desirable range. Considered getting RSV vaccine. Have never had any negative reactions to vaccines (covid, shingrix, prevnar 20, flu) aside from the expected fatigue, etc. Am still undecided. ???

How long do you have to wait before you take the flu vaccine after taking the RSV vaccine? I’m so thankful my son told me to TH-cam this information. My pharmacy told me I can take both vaccines at the same time.
Regardless of other vaccines, I try to wait as long as I can to watch flu cases rise before getting my flu shot. The effectiveness of a flu vaccine only lasts a few months and my not be effective for the entire flu season if gotten too early. (I got my RSV vaccine just after Labor Day.)

I am so very angry with the medical community right now. Our daughter’s pediatrician suggested my husband and I get the RSV vaccine simply because we’re over 60. I am never sick. I’ve never had. COVID… not even a sniffle. I take no meds, lab work is always perfect and I run 30 miles a week along with many other physical activities. Nobody else in my grandson’s life qualifies for the vaccine because his other grandparents are only 50. Now we look like unloving, horrible people because we don’t want to take an unnecessary vaccine. Why would her pediatrician suggest our being vaccinated protects our grandchild from getting RSV? Shouldn’t doctors be more ethical and informed before doing the repeated narrative we saw during COVID. “Get 6 vaccines or you’ll kill grandma” I’m just enraged by how they destroy relationships with their disinformation.
Allow me to respond to how this reads: You are "angry" -- never a healthy or helpful emotion -- because the pediatrician who cares for your grandson's health SUGGESTED the RSV vaccine.
Sorry, but medical professionals know how serious RSV can be for the VERY young. You did not cite the age of your grandson. A newborn? It is not the medical profession that is treating you as an "unloving, horrible person," but someone closer to home. That is how you are coming across.
The RSV virus doesn't care how many miles you run or how good your lab work is... All that says is that if you contract it, you'll probably get over it with no problem. You many not notice any symptoms while you're infecting others. And since you're not protected by a vaccine, it will take longer before you no longer spread the virus.

@@yabits yup… you read it wrong. My daughter does not want us to do anything. She knows there are much bigger risks in her sons life then us. Children spread RSV. The vaccine DOES not stop anyone from getting RSV just like the COVID vaccine did not stop anyone from getting COVID. The vaccine only claims to make symptoms less severe in the high risk population. Those in communal living or LTC or those with underlying chronic conditions. I don’t qualify. The vaccine also comes with a significantly higher risk of Guillain Barre Syndrome. I am as low risk as anyone can possibly be. My family doctor personally called my daughter and kindly answered all her questions. Fortunately I received care from a physician that sees me as the most important part of this health care team. We are all now confident and comfortable in our decision. Ignorance did not win this one!

Currently, Texas is experiencing a wave of RSV that had driven many hospitals to near-capacity. Let's hope they get past it and the wave remains isolated. (Obviously many who should have been vaccinated -- the risk groups -- were not.)
We're still losing 1,400 Americans every week to Covid-19. 200 a day. And the JN.1 variant has become a concern in Europe. Hospitalizations in Sweden have increased by 1000% in the past month.
I got RSV right now and it has been worse than COVID for me. I am immune compromised and this virus has hurt me really badly. I am in my 50s so I was not able to get the vaccine. One thing that I was told is that folks like me have a greater chance of getting a secondary illness due to the RSV virus and I did in fact get a severe sinus infection. This is some serious stuff and I do not wish this on no one
