Information on the bends is completely incorrect. You use an example of a diver surfacing where atmospheric pressure is reduced as a comparison to the plan descending where atmospheric pressure is increasing. Recompression isn't going to cause the bends, decompression does
That's true and I also don't think the pressure difference is enough to cause the bends either. I mean 20m down in an ocean is several earth atmospheres where as the pressure difference on a plane would be what half an atmosphere?
Mo's completely correct. Going from high pressure to low pressure, letting gas expand, is what causes the bends. If anything it'd be on ascent, not descent, where it's an issue. But I also don't think the pressure difference between low and high atmosphere is nearly the same as deep sea divers face.

"The bends" (Decompression Sickness) while diving underwater is a different phenomenon than the one that is alleged to occur while hiding in a wheel well, as described in this video, even if symptoms are confused with the bends. The bends under scuba diving conditions occur because the diver is breathing compressed air on his back, as he descends, lingers at these deeper depths, then ascends too quickly. Wheel well's aren't "climate controlled" as mentioned in this same video. If we assume this means wheel well's aren't "pressurized", stowaways hiding in wheel wells, can't be breathing pressurized air, hence they can't get the "bends" as the aircraft comes down from higher altitude. Pretty sure, what this video instead is trying to describe, although done totally inaccurately, is HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema), a risk to which mountain climbers are exposed. In short, scuba divers are exposed to "decompression sickness", while mountaineers to HAPE.

This actually happened today in a Flight from Guatemala to Miami where a guy hid in the landing gear section to escape Guatemala for freedom; that enough deserves this man to have freedom and not be deported back
captainsimflyer99 this doesn’t contradict physics though. The elevator on the plane is pointing the nose upwards, however there’s not enough speed due to the throttle being lowered to allow the aircraft to generate lift. The wings are at the aircrafts center of gravity, so the force on the tail where the elevator is, causes the aircraft to point upwards kinda like a scale.
There’s literally a 0.1 or maybe even lower chance ANYTHING will happen, and people like you just ignore those statistics and say “oH UnGA BunGA PLaNe NOt SaFe”
Imagine just vibin in your backyard, getting a tan, and suddenly a grown man falls on the grass from the sky. Or just going to get groceries and it suddenly starts raining human flesh.
I live in London and people falling from the landing gear of planes happens more often than you would expect. I remember, about 5 years ago when I was at school, some guy fell onto the street of a kid in my year. Funny thing is, most of these occurrences happen in the same suburb, since almost all planes for Londons biggest airport have to fly over it and open their landing gear there.
That DC3 child stowaway who went on to become a naturalised Australian was Basil Wie who was my neighbour in Darwin. Basil had massive scars on his back from the spinning aircraft wheels abrading his back. Congrats to the video maker for some great research as I can attest to the accuracy of their facts.
Just one small thing I'd like to point out is.. The stowaways don't cling to the wheels like that in the video. One single person or two smaller people can sit in a corner, a bit too uncomfortably , but yes not on the wheel itself. When the landing gear opens during the descent, the stowaway is either semi-unconscious then due to hypoxia and hypothermia or is dead, these are when the person falls from the wheel well all the way out of the aeroplane. If they're concious enough, they can hold onto the wheel well's frame and live (that's how the survivers lived). Clinging on to the wheel is sure shot death because, first thing, the person is absoluteky drained out of thier enrgy by then and the drag that the wheels experience is going to be insane, no one can hold onto the wheel that's out of the plane. If not any of these the turbulence as said in the video is too much to be handled in this way.

“Airplane landings are nothing more than controlled crashes”
And that’s why I hate taking planes!!
That's not really true though
@@PabloGonzalez-hv3td Yeah, it's really not.
"Controlled Decent" (stall)
A airplane lands with its nose up which contradict physics, so some people call is controlled crashed for some odd reason
captainsimflyer99 this doesn’t contradict physics though.
Bruh the algorithm is mad for this recommendation 😂

I live in London and people falling from the landing gear of planes happens more often than you would expect. I remember, about 5 years ago when I was at school, some guy fell onto the street of a kid in my year. Funny thing is, most of these occurrences happen in the same suburb, since almost all planes for Londons biggest airport have to fly over it and open their landing gear there.
Yikes, lol
What about that scene of getting into wheels gear in Uncharted 3. 🤔
*It must be something serious if they’re willing to risk it all for a death ride to another country*
Those people are stoopid
@@ilikepigeons6101 They are desperate, given conditions.
Lilkxdude oh
I have a genius idea that might sound crazy:
What if....
*they check the wheel well before takeoff* 🤯🤯🤯
The bends would occur on ascent not descent. The bends occur when you go too fast to a lower pressure.
I picked up on that mistake also.
Next: We tried to stowaways our writer.
Something is really wrong with TH-cam's algorithm.
9:54 I remember the first time I went on a plane ✈️ (I was like 6 or 7) a guy that sat next to me asked me if I wanted peanuts. It is of the things I remember like it was yesterday I dont know why.
