Happy Friday Everyone. I hope you enjoy these fast and easy gifts. Some times it's the little things that can mean a lot. Make it personalized whether in colour or theme and you'll have a winner.
💕 ..full of creativity! You played the pieces with effortless artistry, design and total dedication. Enjoyed all our video clips! Thank you Karen Brown!
I just bought fabric that has mama & baby animals to make a baby quilt for a gift. Thanks to you, the gift will include a picture frame of each mama & her baby to add to the nursery!!!
Unbelievable! I've had three fabrics laying around because they are large prints. I fell in love with the prints then didn't know how to use them. Bingo! Frame the images that I love. Karen you did it again. 😀 Thanks oodles ~ Arlene
Karen, I am a recent viewer and fan of your TH-cam videos. You have inspired me so much!! I became obsessed with my scraps and how to use them. I have made almost twenty scrap blocks using my 9.5 inch ruler as a size guide. I am spreading the word about your channel to my Quilt buddies! Thank you for your thoughtful contributions to the Quilt World. I look forward to each new offering and watch them again and again!
I used this technique to display some of my great grandmother's costume jewelry. Took a small frame, wrapped the insert with a pretty coordinating fabric, pinned one of her favorite butterfly brooches to the fabric and reassembled the frame. I hung it next to my side of the bed, so it is the first thing I see when I open my eyes in the morning. Love it.
I got someone to digitise my grandchildren’s 12 week foetal ultrasound images so that I could machine embroider them. Then I framed them for my daughter and her partner. They loved them.
After watching your first video tons of times, I made a Foundation Square. I put it into a small frame. My husband asked what I was going to do with it, I told him it was going in my sewing room(aka studio) and each day I go into my room I will look at it with pride. These are great gift ideas.
I did not expect to recognise the map... My home state, Western Australia... brought a smile my face. This is a great idea. I know my daughter buys fabric for her collection. These don't get cut up an used because they are so nice (there are a few Tula Pinks in this stash). I might suggest this framing as a way to see her fabrics rather than stored in a drawer.
This will be great when I’m don’t with my sisters lap quilt - I can frame some of the fabric and she will have a matching picture to go with it! Awesome!
Love it. I have also seen, people using a piece of a cutter quilt in a shadow box. Looks great and if you had a picture of the maker (grandma) that would be even nicer. Especially if you have a big enough piece of quilt you could cut it up for all of the Grandchildren.
Ooooo, you framed my favorite quote, Karen! Right now I just have it written on a scrap of paper stuck to my computer. How much nicer to create a fabric frame, do a fancy computer print-out of the quote on pretty paper [or even on background fabric?!], and hang it in my quilt room!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Love your choices; the racoon is my fave! I do similar gifts using embroidery hoops as the frame, sometimes add some extra embroidery to personalise or add some texture. I also paint or cover the hoop with ribbon, fabric strips or even crochet around it, then use a little ribbon to hang it. if you have time you can also make embroidery hoop clocks as gifts using whatever fabric you like.
Great ideas - I have fabric that I just can’t part with, so rather than it stay in a drawer I’ll make some pictures with it - keeping some ‘framed treasures’ for myself 😀
happy weekend! my idea for a quick gift is a change pouch/purs. and the same pattern for headphones * the smallest ones without or with wire. or a simple tote (super simple) the fabric makes the wow effect on this one.
Great idea to put our stash to work. Something else to put in frames are orphan blocks. I often cover boxes with hero fabrics and also orphan blocks; I make the boxes myself with grey cardboard in any shape or size but of course any old box would do. I'll definitely will give your idea a try. Thanks for another great video, as always. xx
Thank you. Wish I had more wall space for myself, too! Personally, I take linen that is good for napkins or towels, decorative stitch all around w/glossy poly thread about 3/4” from edge, fringe the 3/4” fabric to the edge. Fast, washable, everyone can use, can play a bit with color with the thread.
Hi Karen and Catherine from the Riverland in South Aus, love your ideas, starting to think of gift ideas for Christmas, must go look at some of my empty frames purchased at garage sales.💞
I Inherited a box of my great grandmothers hankies. There are lots of pretty prints, colors and embroidery to choose from for a small frame. Maybe just frame the corner with the scalloped edge.
This is a great idea for house warming gifts. Especially if you get wrangled into helping your friend paid their new place. You’ll know exactly what color fabrics to choose.
Hi, I really enjoy your videos. I was wondering if you could do a video update on your longarm sewing machine. It was interesting to see you unpack it. Thanks for all the information!! Have a great day!
OMG! I’ve been wondering about just such a project! I’d love to try this. For myself first, just to make sure it works. Lol! Thanks so much, Karen. I always learn from you!
I have some blank canvases that I thought of covering with small quilt tops but my staple gun is broken. I might try a glue stick and see how that goes. If the top falls off I can always wash it and put it aside until I have the proper tool. Thank you for reminding me that glue sticks are a thing lol.

Framing a photo of a loved one with a mat of their favorite shirt or a maybe some ties would be such a lovely memorial gift.
Excellent idea

great idea
Love that you used a map of WA in last example
Simply BRILLIANT. Thank you
One Xmas a while back I paper pieced wonky Xmas trees and put them in Ikea frames. The recipients all loved them.
Unbelievable! I've had three fabrics laying around because they are large prints. I fell in love with the prints then didn't know how to use them. Bingo! Frame the images that I love.

Great idea. I recently acquired some of my grandmother's costume jewelry too.
I just posted a picture on her fb page of the butterfly pin

What fun! I'd like to make a couple for myself.
Occasional OCD moments drive me to make miniature quilts, frame them and hang them on the wall. Love them!

Nice idea. Elderly stuck in beds needs things to look at or touch to challenge memories
I framed some beautiful lengths of silk that were purchased in Osaka and hung them on my sewing room wall.
That is awesome!
Cool lady! I also paint my mats and if I have a picture that the colors don't quite work, I add a dash of paint to fix the color.
Great idea that I had forgotten about. One of my favourite pictures in my mother's house (many years ago) was of a fabric she had framed.
Ooooo, you framed my favorite quote, Karen!

This is a brilliant idea! I am going to rummage through my stash now to see what I can find for some cottage pics!

Cute! I think it might be fun to add some embroidery to one of these....getting the creative juices flowing.

Great ideas! We used to stretch fabric across canvasses for cheap artwork during our college dorm days.
Yay! Your map was of Western Australia!!😁😁 I live here. Geraldton. Near the yellow shell😉
Happy memories of Geraldton
Super fun video! Might end up using a few of these to add decor to my house! Decent art can be so expensive!

Great ideas. Love that you had a great holiday in Western Australia. 👍🇦🇺
Thank you! I have fabric with quotes on it. I couldn’t figure out what sort of quilt to make with it. Now I’m going to frame each quote. Simple!

Hi Karen and Catherine from the Riverland in South Aus, love your ideas, starting to think of gift ideas for Christmas, must go look at some of my empty frames purchased at garage sales.💞
I did that with scrapbook paper in my living room and my bathroom. Very pretty!
I Inherited a box of my great grandmothers hankies. There are lots of pretty prints, colors and embroidery to choose from for a small frame. Maybe just frame the corner with the scalloped edge.
Sounds lovely. Maybe frame one and make bunting or a valance for your sewing space with the rest.
