On Page 3 of the downloadable instructions, there is a statement that the unit can get power from the data link connector & fuse tap "or the USB cable to the laptop PC." Was this your experience? I am reading some instructions before I purchase. Thanks

Yep it’s all self explanatory in the instructions for me although I did have some connection issues with it on mine
