When I was 30 (in early 2000s), I was head cashier in a store. I had to stay every night with the closing member of management. (I usually did the work; they supervised.)
I was closing with a 22 year old assistant manager. She was bored and looking at the help wanted section of the local paper. She saw an ad for a dancer at a local 'gentleman's club. She called to ask about the job on speakerphone as I did the paperwork.
She was setting up a time to do an audition dance. She asked how small of a bikini she would have to wear. The club manager told her it was a full nude club. She said she could bring in good money for them staying in a bikini. He told her it wasn't the right job for her and hung up.
She asked me if I would pay to see her dance in a bikini. I refused to answer. (No I wouldn't, for anyone wondering.)
The next day she filed a harassment claim against me for 'saying she was unattractive'.

It’s so bad that with a lot of these stories, they tell management that someone is being inappropriate and they’re met with “are you gay”
Like seriously!? Their sexuality is irrelevant they just simply don’t appreciate being sexually harassed in their place of work, and they shouldn’t have to put up with it. As they said in the video it’s serious double standards. If a man did that to woman, they would lose that job immediately, but when it’s a woman doing it to a man they don’t even get told off.

My female coworkers are always complaining about men who cheat and the number of times they are objectified in a day. No problem there. But when a male customer hits on me (I'm married to a woman and openly bi) they always go 'aw', or 'that's cute', or 'that's hot' or 'why didn't you get his number?' WHAT?! You were just complaining about cheating men and being objectified! Why is it suddenly okay if we both have dicks? I certainly wouldn't say that if it was you being hit on by another woman! No one should objectify you, and you shouldn't do it to me!

Damn you know this just reaffirmed my stance that creepy people who don't know boundaries are just a type of person and not a strictly "male" or "female" thing some people are just creepy and rude. And unnecessarily aggressive. Definitely sexual assault for a lot of these stories super not okay, and most of these women should be fired and possibly charged 👀
    Pulling up someone's shirt? Jail
Repeatedly pinching someone who's told you to stop till they bleed? Fired possibly a charge.
Hard-core flirting and PHYSICALLY touching during work while they tell you to stop? Fired and jail.

The whole bathroom story reminds me of one that was stated before. A work place decided to renovate the employees bathrooms and started with the males first. All the male employees had to go to a gas station down the street if they needed to use the bathroom. Yet when their bathroom got fixed they started on the women's bathroom. Yet the women were told to use the newly renovated mens bathroom until theirs were finished, and the guys had to continue to use the gas station. They didn't even get to use the bathroom when it was brand new. Talk about unfair.
Also another story. A single father had his son's birthday coming up, and had requested the day off a couple of months in advance. Yet he was denied being able to get that day off. Note he was with this company for a few years now. Around the same time a single mother wanted a few days off around the same time he asked, because she planned a small trip with her child and she got approved for it. She had barely been with the company for two years. The father was mad at this. Yet he soon found out through the rumor mill that she got approved for the days off because the manager in charge of scheduling believed single mothers have it a lot worse than single fathers and believed she deserved that time off with her child. Sadly, he couldn't prove that and couldn't do anything.

Never really had this issue with coworkers, but back in high school for some reason a lot of the females in my class felt that it was OK for them to come up and touch me without my permission. And then, when I would tell them not to people, including family, started circulating the rumor that I was gay. I’m not. Just because I don’t want to be touched, does not mean I have no interest in women, I just had no interest in those particular women. For the record, I do not like human contact. My fiancé is one of the only people allowed to touch me, and other than her, hands off. I’ve also had females stroking or grabbing my arms to “feel your muscles”. I have no problem yanking away, and I do not care if it hurts your feelings. And I know this isn’t cool, but I’m not above using my blindness as an excuse to slap somebody’s hand away when they touch me. Someone touched me and I didn’t wanna be touched, well, they just came up and grabbed a blind person who didn’t know what was going on and I reacted defensively. Not my fault I ended up slapping somebody. I don’t care if my hair looks fluffy, that does not give you the right to touch me, especially after I already told you know when you asked. Sorry, this is a long rant, but I need to get this out there. And I had other people do this to me besides at school. There was one old woman at my church who refused to listen to my do not touch me rule. It got to the point where I actually had to hold my cane up between us, and essentially push her away with it to keep her from putting her hands on me.
And one more thing, you’re I’m just an affectionate person, or I just like to touch people excuse is not a good one. Just because you like touching people does not override the fact that I don’t like being touched. KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF ME!!!!!

The strange disconnect between male and female office dress expectations - women can look like they’re going partying, a suit jacket and mini skirt is quite acceptable (business up top, look at me below) but a man can’t wear tidy jeans or start a beard. The Pence rule is a wise precaution for men as you are always presumed to be guilty in a me-too incident.

These are insane. As a woman I've been luckier than these poor guys. The worst I encountered regularly is back when I was in retail/fast food, middle aged or older male coworkers (and even customers) who needed to pass by in close quarters would do so while saying "excuse me" and putting their hands on my waist, lower back, and/or shoulders, as if to hold me steady or shift me out of the way. Like, you KNOW you don't need to feel me up just to get past me! Just because you act like touching me all over is somehow some polite gesture doesn't make it true.
Younger men seemed to know not to do this. They always moved their arms in another direction and/or faced their body away from mine.

I'm shocked and sad to hear these. I'm a woman and an engineer, so I mostly work with men. I couldn't imagine any of this happening in any office I've worked in. I want to be known for the quality of my work and so do the men. Yes, some of them are very attractive and I think several have been attracted to me, but I've never wanted to ask or risk it messing up the office vibe. But, a lot of these stories don't have anything to do with attraction, but are straight up people doing crap because they can. It's really disappointing after all the steps forward we've made.
I also think we should go with gender neutral pronouns in the office because our gender has nothing to do with our work.

One time a female coworker came up behind me at my desk as I was working. She didn't touch me, or anything, nor did she do or say anything flirtatious. She wasn't wearing perfume, but some kind of pheromone came with her and it immediately caused arousal in me before I even recognised who it was. I'm certain she didn't know what happened (I didn't react, for one thing). Nothing like this had ever happened before or since, with anyone. It was very weird.

I think most of this comes from the notion that "men just want sex" mentality.
For the most part, men like these things. It's getting more and more common that they don't like it though and the stigma about it works against them.
I'll admit, I'm one of them that does like it. That's just me though, you don't like it that's fine too.

PS: It’s mindsets like that that lets people of any gender get away with it.
