A Journey to the Battle of Britain Bunker - Walking in the Footsteps of Heroes

Welcome to a visit to The Battle of Britain Bunker Museum in the Uxbridge section of London. We viewed the museum exhibition, learned about the Dowding system, and then descended 76 steps to see the historic underground bunker. We also stopped by the Polish Air Force exhibit and the Polish Air Force Heritage Trail to learn more about the contributions of Squadron 303.
This site is home to a pivotal moment in WWII military history that helped to win the Second World War. It lies 60 feet under the ground in West London. Here, in Hillingdon, is the famous Royal Air Force (RAF) bunker where Britain coordinated its defense against the Nazi invasion.
This military museum is a hidden gem in London and a great place to go to walking in the footsteps of heroes!

Hi both I've not heard of this bunker but it looked like a must visit place. It was great to see and go into the bunker and hear about how it all worked with the systems used in WW2 and Art if I remember, you have Polish ancestry so you especially must have been fascinated to hear of the Polish connection. We really enjoyed learning about the history presented at this site - very nicely preserved. My dad served as a teenager from Poland in the RAF during WWII - so that connection was wonderful to explore. Cheers!
