    Here is a tip: You can route those USB cables from the head-unit down under the shifter trim and up through the bottom of the center console compartment....if you lift up the felt on the bottom you will see a hole in the bottom plastic...you can snake the USB cables right up into the center console compartment...No cutting required! :-)

      That's actually a neat idea; I might route a second USB cable in there, I have one more plug so I could do it. About the trim pieces; I'm really not sure how to do it but maybe just don't unclip them at all and hide the cable underneath the seal like I did it.

      @@whr_vlogs I had the same idea as you to cut the back of the small pocket but I ended up actually replacing the cigarette / 12 V socket directly. You need to remove the socket and its small trim (5 minutes and there is a clip for it) and then the USB will fit right in.

      @@whr_vlogs one more - running the cable under the steering wheel is not that traumatizing. You can easily disassemble the trim under the steering wheel. It is being held by 3 screws and you get access to the whole area

      Yeah it's a tedious process. Not hard to understand just a lot of work.

      Thanks a lot! It was a nightmare, yes. Recently the camera stopped working. Turns out a connection to the reverse light came loose, after I properly attached it again the camera started working again. So maybe watch out for this so it doesn't happen to you too haha

    Great video !!! Could you let us know which color of the wire did you tap into?

      Thank you! You can spot it a bit at 31:40; the brown one is for ground and the yellow one for positive.

    Well done! I feel your pain! I am going through a similar struggle with my 2003 E320. Any tips on how to remove those trim pieces near the floorboards without breaking the clips?

    how did you remove the backseat exactly? trying to do the same thing with my car!

    • @whr_vlogs
      @whr_vlogs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's pretty simple actually. You just pull up on the bench and it will lift up and away; the backrest can be unscrewed with a couple of screws and also taken out easily.

    What model COMAND unit do you have. Will this work with NG2 or 2.5?

    • @whr_vlogs
      @whr_vlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a aftermarket Android head unit, I don't know on what command it works. A co worker has a Vito and he could retrofit a backup camera to the stock command using an adapter. You'll have to find out if there's an adapter for your command.

    What’s on the left side of your trunk in that hole opened up? Is that the trunk fuse box and Sam module or is that on the right? You powered cam with splicing the reverse light or is that only a trigger to flip the display?

    • @whr_vlogs
      @whr_vlogs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That on the left is a fuse box, yes. And no, the trigger for the display is the reverse gear; the wire I spliced in solely gives power to the backup cam.

      Is posible to connect power +12V from camera direct on rear reverse light ? Because I have just signal wire from MMI to trunk, I must find way to power supply for camera

      Yes. Connect the camera positive power cord to the positive cord to the reverse light bulb.
