Porter wrote 'You Do Something to Me' for his 1929 musical 'Fifty Million Frenchmen', in which it was first performed by Genevieve Tobin and William Gaxton. It has also been sung by Marlene Dietrich, Frank Sinatra, Mario Lanza, Sammy Davis Jr., Perry Como, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, Jerry Lewis, Rosemary Clooney, Dinah Washington, Helen Merrill, Jack Jones, Julie London, Etta Jones, and many others.
