If youre eating a western diet it takes extreme discipline to not be gluttonous because of how addicitng the additives, sugar, and carbs can be. America is 40% obese. the food and drug companies have propagandized food and demonized fatty meat. If your diet is primarily good fatty meat then fasting basically takes care of itself.
Exactly, I always thought I was a glutton until I upped the meat and vegetables.
@@hopefull61256 im full carnivore now. Did organic, keto before. Never going going back. It cured all my chronic problems.
@@off-meta-michaelinteresting! Maybe one day I will need to but for now I love my flavors too much. 😅

Honestly, the giving up variety isn’t a problem once your body realizes how satiated it is on fatty meat.
But, that’s when your talking about actual food and actual hunger, if you want something sweet, it’s not food your craving, but drugs.
@@dinasourprincessparty i agree with this. Your sense of taste and fullness work as intended when you eat carnivore. It's actually not possible to gorge on fatty meat that is only seasoned with salt and butter. You literally lose a sense of how good it tastes as you start to finish the meal and won't eat more than you need. If anything it will look like you didnt eat enough at first, but you wont feel hungry or crave anything, but you also wont feel really full and never bloated.
Father Pine, “yes life is sad, lonely and anxious… good, moving on” 😂😂. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Freaking love this guy lol
Respectfully-Too many words-get to the core.
Gluttony
Food category:
- Sumptuously - Too costly
- Daintily - Assisting on food being prepared too nicely
- Excessive - Too much quantity
Eating category:
- Too hastily/greedily: eating before the appropriate time and eating without the proper pacing
Effects of gluttony:
- Dullness of the sense of understanding (food coma)
- Unseemly joy (euphoria expressed when anticipating or consuming food)
- Loquacity (overconsumption leads to over-talk/over-sharing… a kind of immodesty almost)
- Scurrility (Humor from lack of reason in the way we comport ourselves)
- Uncleanness (the tendency of wet dreams for men)
Don't be described in animal terms (e.g. he eats like a pig, he scarfed it down, etc.)
That's helpful, thanks.
Pray for me as gluttony has been destroying my life for the last 10 years, I am in the middle of a healing, first time I am able to keep it up with the changes for so long, I really want to be free from this.
Put the fork down
Offering up Holy Mass for you, God wants to redeem us in our areas of Sin, through with and in Christ you will triumph and glorify him.
You don't specify what you think might be causing your struggle with gluttony, but if frequent food cravings and hunger is prompting it to any extent, I would suggest reading (or listening to) Tim Noakes or someone else who talks about high fat, low carb eating. It really does minimize the appetite and cravings that are caused by high carbohydrate eating. I have not struggled a lot with gluttony, but was having issues with putting on extra, unwanted weight with age. Drastically reducing carbs and consciously increasing dietary fat have helped SO much, and it doesn't involve chronic hunger, which I think is what eventually causes people to go back to eating more than their bodies need and/or being hungry and cranky. I prayed about what I should do to become healthier and God guided me toward Tim Noakes and back to weight lifting. Keep praying for guidance and you will find it. I will say a prayer for you as well and wish you well!
@@BrownOpsLeak stop giving in to temptation. Why do you keep sining?
From a physical standpoint- a lot of food tricks us to eat more- all the msg (or 50 other names for synthetic glutamate). Also, for me personally, dairy was a huge trigger- it always made me hungry. When I cut it out- my appetite went down. (dairy may not be an issue for you.) unprocessed foods are more filling. Try to keep your blood sugar stable. Praying for you!

Me : watching this video while eating 😟
To be fair, religious often have one of their brothers reading a book to them as they eat :)
I have found it helpful to think of gluttony in terms of the rhythms of consumption that one finds in the Old Testament. Most of the time the diet of ordinary people was quite simple, but there were also times of feasting, in which you brought out the fatted calf, etc. And there were times of fasting. To me, gluttony is eating as if every day was a feast day. This is not to disagree with any of the other aspects Fr. Pine mentions. I mentioned these rhythms, because I think it is possible on feast days to treat yourself to foods or amounts of foods that are better or more than usual, just as long as you then go back to simple and ordinary the rest of the time.
Father God, my strength is gone. I am unable but your Word says I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me. Give me Your strength. Even as I constantly struggle to pay my rent. And I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my children! I trust you Lord! Walking with faith is the most important thing us christian’s must do. That’s why love compassion and prayers are all we truly need. As a single mom, things are tough on me. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m constantly struggling to provide for my boys. I’m overwhelmed and so ashamed and now that I’m home schooling them I’m having trouble getting their school supplies. Father God hear my prayers. Heavenly and merciful Father, I come before your glorious throne today, in humble adoration please help me overcome my struggles and my constant fear of homelessness. Please continue to give me strength.

As a Protestant, Gregory Pine has led me to have a great deal of respect for the Catholic orders. Always appreciate his perspective.
I have gluttonous tendencies and I know it’s not good so I have no problem with you talking about it. I’d love to conquer it.
Many of my family have been morbidly obese and suffered due to it. They loved processed and fast food. Corporations employ “food scientists” for a reason - make the food addictive with salt and sugar. Eat real food that your ancestors would recognize and cook at home. If you stick to it, your tastebuds will change and so will your desire for junk. I have eaten a low carb diet for many years. I don’t really think about food. You’ll overcome it and it will be easy.
I find it helpful to say grace before eating anything.
Pray for me as I seek to overcome this. This is a sin that I have overlooked massively since my reversion. I struggle in all forms of gluttony, but I particularly struggle with food-based gluttony.
Prior to watching this, I've always thought that gluttony is only about the amount of food that you take. Meaning, if you know you are full but your appetite is simply sky-high at that moment and you go ahead and have another serving, then that's gluttony.
I didn't know that there are other cases of gluttony, such as luxury?
Thank you for this episode!
Alcohol too, and drugs
The more i think about it, the more i feel like God really wants us to be perfect....or more like, intend to be perfect. Im trying not to complain and id rather stay with Him, but dang. This walk is legit hard.

Que le Seigneur vous bénisse!
For so long I ate in order to satisfy my mouth. I am an amateur gourmet cook and love good food. I was 100lbs overweight (255). After a prolonged illness and 105lbs weight loss I changed how I eat. I eat to live. For me this means one small meal per day and one day of fasting per week. FOR ME this means I maintain my weight now at a comfortable and healthy 145lbs. It also lends to the necessity of exercise which is more difficult at the higher weight. I’m 5’10 (bio male). Part of my purpose was health but also I wanted to “pummel my body daily” in order to drive me closer to the Cross. The limits I set on myself and the disciplines I now enjoy started as a physical thing and become spiritual. I think that is the right direction for each of us.
Bio male?
@@Malygosblues It's a sad day when you see this kind of crap infiltrating Catholics... He's probably been told to say "bio" male by teachers, parents, etc. He's male. A man. Not a woman, or female. The only 2 there is.
I am very thankful you discussed this topic. I am desperate for help from Christian leaders when it comes to gluttony. It feels like every other sin gets talked about in excess and this one never is and I feel so lost and like I am drowning in this sin. This video has given me a lot to think about when it comes to my eating. Thank you. I will probably listen to it a few times to make sure it sinks in. It’s a lot to take in. I’m so desperate for a way out of this sin. Please help me Lord.
A good idea would be, at some point during Mass, to Pray for all those who comment on TH-cam asking for Prayers... following a bereavement, people who struggle with all kinds of temptation (who doesn't!) People who are just lonely, or sad, depressed etc.. A huge chain of Prayer.
It’s especially challenging for caregivers. If you have a growing 15 year old son and an anorexic 92 year old mother to care for, life becomes about food more than if one were alone. I’ve just started a protein only diet which in one week has changed my perspective on eating. Wow I can’t believe it. I am full most of the time, I’m more aware .. and can see how fasting will be much easier.
I don’t eat a lot but recently I’ve been become aware of a definite pacing problem so this video is timely.
I started intermittent fasting and find that its nearly impossible now to over eat or eat when I don't need to, since all the "problem eating" was snacks. Its very helpful :)
Definitely helped clear up a few things . thanks fr. Greg.👍😎🇮🇪
I wish I listened to this sooner
This has helped me so much
Thank you Father
Rev. Fr. Gregory Pine, thank you for your message. Just to reinforce your point about simple food, Psalm 78:18 "... And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust." Seems that the manna, a simple food, was not enough even though it was a miracle in the wilderness to have manna in abundance. At times, I eat too much food, working on this. (Read this Psalm the day after watching your video.)
Thank you - I learn so much from these teachings
Food is addicting for sure. If I stay away from sugar and carbs I do better with the addiction and gluttony problem.
Thank you, Father, for discussion of this important and difficult subject.
God bless you dear father!
Thank you, Fr. Pine. You have the kind of personality which makes me want to explain why I find such joy in my life. You make me laugh, but I bet I could do the same for you, and it would end in a relaxed and good confessing for me, not you.
Thank you for this video Fr. Pine. Just thank you 🥲
What a good speaker! Wow!
I actually asked for this video when you did a call out for topics, so thank you! Well done.
The development of a desire to eat more frequently or certain types of food is a physiological phenomenon which can arise from upregulation of hunger hormones (e.g. by malnutrition/poor diet, poor sleep) or actions of other hormones (e.g. pregnancy, the luteal phase), not the spirit of gluttony/demons. What is the Catholic take on these little guys, hormones? Are they not also creations of God?
I’d like a follow up that touches on the diet of bodybuilders who eat at a caloric surplus to gain muscle. My assumption is that it is excessive and greedy? Actually, a video about the morality of bodybuilding would be good to examine where bodily self-care can lead to vanity.
I think a slight calorie excess can be maintained without gluttony.
This was a great talk. I will watch this a few more times. Made me really acknowledge my foodie problem ❤
Just by eating a carnivore diet it’s impossible to be glutinous. I’m weight training and trying to put on muscle so I’m trying to overeat. It’s work to consume more beef or eggs when you are already satiated. The problem with carbohydrates is that they do not make you feel satiated so you can overeat them easily. For me the best way is to just not consume any plants at all. The original sin was turning the pastures into farm land and consuming grains. We lived for hundreds of thousands of years eating mostly nothing but animal protein and fat. Our body’s metabolism functions normally when we eat that way. People are not sinning they are just eating the wrong food. Sugar will make you want to eat more sugar. Your body doesn’t need it because it can make its own sugar out of fat and protein. Peace.
As someone who also weight trains and over eats to gain muscle I disagree. Over eating is gluttney. We are eating more than we need to survive for self gain.
Well, if that is the case the fact is you don't have to be a weight builder - your choosing it and so your choosing to over eat just as if I choose to loose weight by vomitting ( I think they call it anorexia) I am choosing to harm myself physically and spiritually by not eating or eating and getting rid of it unnatrually. You can't blame the weight building.
My "work from home" routine has become one trip to the fridge after another. I can water fast a whole day with zero discomfort. The sin I think for me is that I go right back to the routine for weeks. I don't make the small sacrifices i admire so much in St Therese. I see it is good. But I don't do it. St Paul ...what is that ?? I still have a sense of humor, don't worry Father !!
There is food being wasted that I would not have a chance to buy. I take it when I can in a somewhat frenzied manner. It is a sin to waste food and to be gluttonous. I chose between the lesser of the 2 evils.
This was very interesting. Thank you.

Matthew 23:8-10
New International Version
8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah.
@DarkArcticTV
Joseph tells his brothers of a special fatherly relationship God had given him with the king of Egypt: “So it was not you who sent me here, but God; and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt” (Gen. 45:8).
Job indicates he played a fatherly role with the less fortunate: “I was a father to the poor, and I searched out the cause of him whom I did not know” (Job 29:16)
God himself declares that he will give a fatherly role to Eliakim, the steward of the house of David: “In that day I will call my servant Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah . . . and I will clothe him with [a] robe, and will bind [a] girdle on him, and will commit . . . authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah” (Isa. 22:20-21).
Are you saying God is wrong?
If only all other vices caused immediate change in one's looks...
Thankyou for this ebliggenibg talk.
Please pray for me. I have been over-eating for the majority of my life.
What does this mean for organic vs non organic? Or raw vs Pasteurized. Farmed fish vs wild.
When pasteurized milk does more damage than good when drinking it is it wrong to spend three times more for raw milk? Or heavily sprayed berries. Is it better to just eat food that can cause harm rather than eating a healthier bit more expensive option of the same kind of food? I struggle with this seeing how pesticides are cancerous and I don’t see why one would consume food that is not great for you.
If you can afford organic or healthier foods, then I think it should be fine to get it.
I have been struggling with an eating disorder for 40 years. Hospitalized twice for an eating disorder. Through the years it has taken on different forms, anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder. I can not stop. I am assuming this is a mortal sin. I have asked for help from God many times, yet I can not stop. While my reason for stopping has changed from a superficial one to one focusing on not being in a state of sin, the addiction has become much more intense. How do I stop? How can I find help from the Catholic community. Support from sources outside the church do not understand the aspect of my Catholic faith which should be central to my goals. Do you have any sources you could pass on from the Catholic community which can help me. I am desperately in need of help for this problem which bars me from growing a relationship with God.
Have you brought this up in depth with a priest/your confessor? You might find that helpful. God bless you Judey!
I also learned that it’s also the way we eat as well. If we sit at the table and just shovel food down our throats like animals and not take the time to process and actually eat the food, it is a sign of gluttony. Eat like a pig so to speak.
Lots of room for scrupulosity here.
Is it possible to be a fine dining chef or a food critic AND not a glutton?
Lobster tails were first a food of the poor before they got marketed as fancy. The same thing is happening now with cuts like tongue and tail.... Nothing inherent to the lobster or the cow changed, only the marketing changed. I could imagine a priests sermon in gluttony changing wildly depending on the state of dietary science trends of the moment.
Perhaps best to just leave it at "I'm going to avoid overindulging"
Lion Diet is the proper human diet.
What happens when you go to the movie theaters and you eat snack? Do I sin venially?
I now have yet another sin. Father I’m certain God intended this podcast for me. Thank you😢
This is the single most Catholic question I have ever heard
One misunderstanding I had: feast day = gluttony day. Now I know feast day is about food quality, not quantity.
17:40 was a new insight for me. I do treat eating as perfunctory. It is dehumanizing. I can see this especially in my family. Sadly, as a father I've never emphasized dinner time as family time, for various reasons. But that's the point I see - it's unreasonable, hasty
Wow 21:20. So it's not just me. Yes, I stop eating by 4 or 5 and I have empty bowels and bladder by bedtime. I now rarely have nocturnal emissions or lustful dreams. I also eat less and have lost weight. I believe it's by the rectal vault being empty overnight - doesn't rub the prostate = less stimulation while sleeping. Id be interested in Fr Pine's analysis of nocturnal dreams if hes not yet discussed. Some say not sinful or polluting, but Fr Pacwa gave the insight of our Lord remaining awake in the Garden as the High Priests remained awake before Passover to avoid that very pollution. Not sure FrMitch was taking a stand one way or another, but Ive always confessed Nocturnal emissions (to consternation of some confessors). Doesnt hurt I think. They say not willful ergo not sinful but are we really not willful in our dreams? Sometimes in my dreams now I adamantly refuse lust, which makes me doubt that we get a free pass to lust in our dreams
Not sure but whatever it is I probly have it
😂
Just give the body a little bit less than he needs and always make a little sacrifice on every meal. Probably this is the right measurement in regards of food.
Presumably if you're always eating less than you need, you'll eventually suffer health problems? Maybe if you need to lose weight this is okay for a time, but I don't think this is sustainable, and fasting isn't supposed to damage you.
Context - written by someone who has struggled with being UNDERweight her entire life
For someone who struggless with being over weigth, I can say this makes perfect sense. It feels much better to be able to get up fro the table having room in your tummy, instead of having stuff oneself so much that its hard to get up from the table.
At work, I usually have lunch on my desk...and so, do some work at the same time. What do I make of that? Am I sinning because of that, or am I not growing in holiness because of that? 🤔
Is gluttony taught in the seminary schools?
Watching this while eating dinner :^)
There is also the error of so much "self-abnegation", but not enough Christ-centeredness, so that the "self-abnegation" is not truly self-abnegation, but just more self--it ceases to be a good, because it is not being done for or with Christ, but for and with self. Then, trying to correct it, you can swing to the other extreme of license, and it seems like there is no answer. It's idolatry, plainly, and the question that must be returned to is, "What is Monotheism?" Yeah, Christ died for our sins, but when do we connect to God? Nothing else will satisfy, or compare to that joy.
Why is it not a sin to consume things that are unhealthy? Like junk food?
And then she drank it. Thanks for that. Do not listen during breakfast 😰
Thankyou for this enlightening teaching.
I'm a bit confused at 18:35
You can't eat food while doing something else? Do circumstances affect the sinfulness? What if you legitimately have little time to eat at a lunch break? Can I watch this video while eating? If I'm understanding this wrong, please correct me 🙂!
Well i belive that in traditional Sense that food Is eaten on desk withoud technology that's moustly un family so we concertrate on meal we eat! May Lord bless you AND your family Amen thanks to Lord For answering you I hope this helps
@@sebo3e Ok, so you're saying that it is better to concentrate on eating a meal rather than scrolling around on your phone, etc. What about snacks? Can I eat a snack while studying?

I would apply the same rationale to matters of sex. . But you never hear them excoriating "chastity nuts". . Or " fanatical virgins" . .
How about choosing the donut instead of the carrot? Is this fine?
So moderation in all things. I like the understanding to eat responsibly, simply without haste and in this way to glorify God. Lord Jesus I pray for the grace to overcome food gluttony. 🙏🏻
Should this say "WHAT is Gluttony?" or "When"? God Bless.
I started to wonder how he sounded during homilies...🤔
Gluttony and St Thomas Aquinas... In short do as he says not as he does. 😂
St. Thomas Aquinas was not fat.
St. Thomas Aquinas wasn't fat. He was well known to be a very strong man who spent hours and hours of his time traveling on foot, he ate little food, and the descriptions of his body are of him being large, not fat (rotundus). Broad shouldered and tall.
@@sebastianofmilan I am going to respectfully disagree unless you present some evidence . He was known for being obese. "Dumb ox" had multiple connotations.
@@sebastianofmilan can I have the citation?
I just double checked and G. K. Chesterton who wrote a wonderful book about St Thomas Aquinas even called him fat. This is the story I have heard all my life from multiple sources, I am open to new evidence though.
"Health-nut-itude" 😂
St Teresa of Avila had bulimia.
What would you consider eating when you aren't hungry, but as a form of discipline for the art of body building?
You have an objective to build muscle. God has created a way in which muscle is built. He also made muscle objectively beautiful if built within his laws of aesthetics (proportional, healthy, balanced etc).
So lets go with the assumption building this body is a good pursuit if done for that end goal of working through the disciplined rigors god created as the means to pursue an end he authored as objectively beautiful, which means good. Lets ignore the notion of building only for vanity or to pursue lust, or worship yourself.
In that case you may have to eat when you are not hungry in times of sustaining growth. No, this does not make you fat. If you get fat doing it then you are using the bulk as an excuse for indulgence. But to build muscle you need a caloric surplus and the resources to do it, within reason to do it in a lean manner.
How would you rate this type of relationship with food. Its temporary, you don't bulk forever. Its a few months. It can be argued to remove god from the center but also not as it centers on discipline and observance of his laws. And its not the biggest thing in your life...its just some muscle.
Interested on your thoughts of purposed driven eating and when that goes off the rails.
Eating when not hungry is only gluttony when it is boredom eating, ie, eating not to feed but for self simulation
I assume focusing on calorically dense will help, if "satieity" gauge remains constant, healthy-calorie-dense foods can aid with meeting caloric intake goals without feeling overly stuffed. Like healthy fats. And your body does typically adjust hunger cues if you are expending more by hitting the gym.
Wow us catholics have become so soft.
On the sumptuous point: should Christians avoid going out to nice restaurants? Would that be gluttonous, or is it okay to do every once in a while, but we shouldn't make it a habit?
I think it falls under when the Bible says "a time for feasting and a time for fasting" I think once in a while would fall under the feasting category.

What the heck is a snow family?
He made different snowmen of a wife and kids etc.
@@celiamergen2091why though? How did that help? No shade on st Francis. Obviously holier than I am. I’m just curious how that helped his temptations at all
@@Eilonwy95 I wasn't sure of the whole story so I looked it up and found a really cool commentary on the situation. So basically, Francis was tempted to be unchaste, so he decided to make himself a snow wife... Well, if he has a snow wife, he has to have snow children, well now he needs to make snow servants. And, how is he going to feed everyone? How is he going to make the money? He basically took living a non-celibate life to its realistic end. Well, having a wife means providing for a family. When he realized the reality of what taking his temptation to it's extreme would be, he found that it wasn't something he wanted at all. Now, it's not that he took his temptation and really thought about the temptation itself-- one does not fight a lustful thought by thinking it over... He distanced himself from it by the ridiculousness of a snow family, so he could think more realistically, more practically.
Also, if you really think about it, it's kind of hard to have a lustful thought, if you're cold in the snow trying to have the mental presence to do a physical and creative task like making snowmen, so it helps by distracting, and also by addressing the psychological and spiritual beliefs underpinning the temptation
Is bulking (for weightlifting) sinful?
I think it can be done in moderation. An epic dirty bulk... probably best to avoid 😂
Is it "gluttony" if someone has depression, or stressed out and doesn't have (never learned) proper coping mechanisms or has a food addiction? Is it gluttony of we create or go out for special meals for Christmas and Easter or birthdays/anniversaries? What of the wedding at Cana? Jesus had no problem keeping the wine flowing - in fact made it better than the expensive wine served earlier in the reception. I don't think being a "health nut" is problematic since we are 1. taking care of the body God gave us 2. eating natural food and taking care not to over eat... unless it fuels pride or is a pre-occupation.
We are allowed to enjoy a feast (celebration). Just make sure we don't overindulge.
Greg, this video is hella scrupulous. No steak and lobster? No ketchup and mustard on hot dogs? No multitasking? This doesn’t make sense. Gluttony is a lifestyle. It is a disordered love of food. God is not going to condemn you for using ketchup and mustard on Memorial Day.
Hella like fr fr
The examples of “holy” behaviors that St Francis and especially St Catherine engaged in would be classified as compulsions or delusions/mental illness
Well, he basically said as much. He's also not saying we have to copy them.
And perhaps sins against the fifth commandment. If some priests want to argue that smoking a cigarette is such a sin, then certainly drinking infected pus would be as well
Jesus was classified as a glutton, a drunkard and as a possessed as well. Many atheists today say that the belief in God should be classified as a mental illness. My brother (who is an atheist) believes I'm an ignorant delusional retard because I'm Catholic.
In a nutshell, I'm doing my best to be a saint. The world is against me because I'm not following its ways, but God's. I am not ashamed of the cross. I embrace it with all my heart ✝️

Gluttony is to eat more than what is necessary to be full too full and then throw up and then eat again! Then it becomes a mortal sin ‼️😮

yeah as with other human weakness, it's simple until you see the human under the sin. It's like the parable of the wheat and the weeds, Jesus wants us in our weakness, so He doesn't uproot the weeds. You could easily say "if it's a weed, it has to be uprooted. Simple." But God wants people who are too weak to survive the weeds being uprooted that simply and brutally, and He wants to take the consequences on Himself. It is simple to you because you are strong in a way that obese people aren't, and in that way you're an image of God's strength. I'm most certainly not as strong as you in that way but I believe I'm meant to be an example of God's humility and mercy. Every victory I have over overeating is completely God's victory, and I wouldn't be able to understand that if God didn't make me weak enough to fail utterly for the majority of my life. I only can succeed with the intervention of God's grace. Today after many hard years, I'm healthy enough to run and not get tired, and I legitimately believed that was impossible for me for many many years. I know that even if I was the perfect weight it would be totally empty without God, and being healthy would only fuel my pride and ego, but if God makes me healthy, then it is amazing, explosively powerful, fruitful. And for me in particular, it is impossible without God. It is as simple as you are saying, but my weakness is just as simple. Making sense of it without God is where it gets over complicated.
@@Aaalllyyysssaaaaa it was meant as a light joke with some truth. I pray that I didn’t offend anyone. That wasn’t my intention. God bless and good luck to all in whatever areas they struggle with.

Can’t get use to your facial hair. You’re more handsome without it.
Ya know, I don’t think he should worry about what is attractive! If he liked the beard, and it makes him less attractive, that’s probably a gift!
I would argue that he is more handsome right now! But it comes from a man that isn't able to grow proper beard like that
Thank you, Fr. Gregory!🙏
I would also say the beard suits him, from a strictly objective standpoint one could say it makes his face more symmetrical
His beard makes him look better. I’m a woman and say it in brotherly fashion. Not that it’s important to him how he looks as long as it’s least distracting to his catechisms and preaching
get rid of the beard.
I like the beard!
I like it, too!
As a Protestant, Gregory Pine has led me to have a great deal of respect for the Catholic orders. Always appreciate his perspective.
