I saw Darrell at a concert at Calvery Chapel Downey, Paul Gilbert was playing guitar with the band. Great period for the band, tho all periods were great also enjoyed the concerts they did after the Get Ready album was released. During this period I saw them at Calvery chapel West Covina. What can I say Darrell Mansfield Rocks !!!!!
I think I must have attended about 100 Darrell Mansfield band concert. I still have my Darrell Mansfield band jacket from back in the day and a The Vision Pin. Can't fit the jacket anymore but maybe my wife can.
Oh yeah. We went to the Friday nites @ Downey. Know what? As many times as I've seen Darrell and his various bands, I never, EVER had to pay. He has an amazing story of dealing with mental illness

Yes the solo on this video is Paul Gilbert. Saw thm in concert and, while it wsnt as good as Gilbrt, Eric did an admirable job with the solo. Paul also did the lead on "After the Storm" from the same album. More legato, but some really good runs in that solo as well.
Revelation was like my 3rd or 4th Christian metal album along with Messiah Prophets "Master of the Metal" and Barren Cross' "Rock for the King". I believe Paul Gilbert was a guest guitarist on one of the tracks.
Darrell said when I talked to him at one of his concerts said , they found him in Hollywood and somehow hooked up with him , not sure of any other details, could be guitarist Eric Turner who met him first- I know Paul was teaching at GIT in Hollywood for a while. Anyways he started playing with the Darrell Mansfield band for a while at concerts around Los Angeles, I saw Paul with the band at Calvary Chapel Downey. Then Paul did two guitar parts for the Revelation album. Hope this was helpful bro !!

It was cool seeing Paul Gilbert before his Racer X and Mister Big days. The band planted a seed in his life I'm sure.

I later saw Paul Gilbert at a couple Racer X concerts at the Country Club in Reseda. Of course we know that Paul later went on to play with Mr. Big.
