- So excited about these entries for the Paraoke Contest! I decided maybe I should share my own video with you guys. This is literally the entire first vocal take I did for "Still Into You" in the studio last year. I took it on my iPhone and was saving it for the right time to post. Hope you like it! Sorry about all the weird faces and the dancing awkwardly all by myself. - Hayley

Tracking - you do multiple takes a stitch together the best of each. This would be followed up with auto tune and minor tweaks to her already great voice
I hear the instrumental in my head hearing her sing this. You also can hear her vocals had almost no mixing at all. Insane voice, the fact she did this in one take is out of this world..
The instrumental is actually playing very faintly in the background
This isn't the final take, the real song has multiple tales comped together, vocal tuning, and a good bit of mixing on her vocal.

It's def plausible that, unless the producer insisted on multiple takes, this is the raw, unspliced vocal used for the final album track. But if we really want to know, we need to ask her.
Most singers sing the whole song atleast once, the song could have been 30 takes chopped down to all sound perfect.

Eh. She’s in a closed space where her voice would sound ok. But if she was in a larger place with no microphone and a pair of headphones it probably wouldn’t sound as good. Lol. But of course it’ll sound better with a microphone and some autos to go with it on stage.
@@trevorlaporte5951 definitely I standard in the industry as it just fixes those slightly offkey notes if needed. Even if a singer is near perfect its just a safe bet to fix any issues. I think its more acceptable because it isnt full autotune like when TPain cranks it up full and you get that robotic effect

This is one of those once in a generation songs, man. Paramore isn't even my favorite band and this song is just pure passion for music and love, obviously.
1:26 on is just such fantastic lyricism. "-and to your favorite song, we song along, into the start, of forever". Just perfect.
As a musician/artist, it’s wild to me how she recorded that song in one take. Her talent is genuinely unreal, if you make music you understand.
Recording a 3 minute song takes hours and days to complete. And she nailed it on the first attempt.

It’s an amazing take, and she is unreal, but don’t be under any illusion that this was the only take that was used in the final recording. You can easily tell by listening to this song on the album that there are parts cleverly edited in.

How? The final product is perfectly in tune and this isn't, not that it's not a great take, it is. 99% of big recordings will have some degree of pitch correction.

jarold jarodson i’m not sure if you’re trying to be sarcastic but the person said that because they expected it to sound worse than the release. For example, many rappers use autotune so the studio recording would sound way different from the actual release.

Being a singer myself and an absolute perfectionist, it makes me feel so much relief to hear Hayley sing this take. There are the same tiny (miniscule really) pitch imperfections in this take that I beat myself up about in my own singing. I always get so in my head about singers that I love, thinking their takes couldn't possibly have those little imperfections - it's so comforting to hear them here. They DO happen to all singers, even ones I idolize. Makes me realize I shouldn't be so damn hard on myself. This take is an absolute masterpiece, and it only took a few mixing tweaks to turn it into what we hear in the final rendition of the song.
10 years later, and Im still captivated by her voice.
