One of the greatest movies ever made. If you look at the top 10 highest grossing movies of all time, Titanic stands out for a number of reasons:
    - it’s the only movie from the 90s
-it’s not a sequel/reboot or attached to a franchise in any way.
-it’s primarily a fictional period love story based on a real event.
The cultural impact Titanic had back in 1997/1998 was phenomenal and I’ve not seen any movie repeat it since.

      Agree 100% on cultural impact.
Movies of the past 25 years open big, then fall fast, while Titanic’s popularity grew and grew, and was maintained over the period of several months well into 1998.
      Titanic was inescapable and everywhere.

Same here. It was a phenomenal time and I remember some girls telling me I looked like Leo and following me around at school giggling so can you imagine what his life must have been like at the time 😂😂😂

Bernard is teary eyed. These actors knew the importance and significance of the real life characters they played. My fav character is actually Thomas Andrews. I have a personal, family connection to Harland and Wolff.

Same with Danny Nucci (Fabrizio) and Ioan Gruffudd (Officer Lowe), I have seen in different interviews. The importance of telling the story and adding authenticity to it.

That first transition shot from the wrecked Titanic to the new Titanic in Belfast is my favourite part of many of course but I love that part.

Victor Garber was a good Thomas Andrews & I remember the scene when Rose approaches him on the staircase to ask the question. The look on his face says it all. He played the part SO well. Many actors in this movie deserved Oscars but U can't give one to everyone but the 11 Oscars did it all & the movie deserved them all. The Titanic will never die.🚢

This is 25 years later? Impossible. Garber(Andrews) and Hill (Smith) have not aged a DAY.

That’s exactly what Gandalf said to Bilbo Baggins: you haven’t aged one day. I wonder if it has something to do with Hill having been cast in LOTR. 😊

The class struggle aspect of this story is particularly fascinating.

Yeah it was truly layered. So many stories within the story. The funny thing is that the priceless necklace drove the story initially, then you kinda lose sight of that story line until right at the end when she throws it into the sea. Just masterful storytelling.

especially for those born in the late 20th century, or early 21st century and did *not* experience class struggle like that.

Great interviews, especially to hear something from Victor Garber and Bernhard Hill.
Who edited the underlying music? Is it too hard to create something without silence spots that feel like stops? It’s obvious and not well done unfortunately

Aint no way in hell people were asking for more of the first half of the movie, and less of the sinking. A very common criticism of the movie is that the first half is too boring and cliche. The last 90 minutes are by far the emotional driver of the movie.
