Thanks for another thorough review! Your hunch about the metal boxes is correct. The Chinese written on the top is Beini's personal brand name and goes with her own Penbbs pens (Niangao, Amber, and Silence). I agree with you about how unnecessary the ring and screw-on end of the barrel are, but I was thankful that it was threaded rather than friction fit like on cheaper pens. This pen is just fantastic and is my all-time favorite Penbbs pen, along with the 309.
Thanks for another great review Chris, I was looking forward to this one. Nice to see the nib comparisons too. Kindling in my heart I have a humble dream....a Penbbs Broad!
That is very pretty looking pen. I just bought Penbbs 323 Galaxy, can't wait that. Already got 323 purple cloud and I just love how that pen feels in my hand whit rounded medium nib what I swapped on. Also looked 309 sunset but I like eye drop my pens. But that just looks awesome too.
Since this is a review from 18 months ago, I'm not going to read through ALL the comments. I just wanted to point out, in case it hasn't been already, that the reason for that end cap that unscrews (although I agree, I would have glued the trim ring) is that somebody (and I'm sorry I don't remember who) has a pen designed like that with a tool that you can insert that goes on the end of the converter and you don't have to take the grip section off to fill the converter. You can just do it from the end opening.
Interesting, it then becomes a captured converter. I was not aware. For me, not a good design. Many of my Deltas have that. I want to watch the converter fill & check ink level. I also worry about losing the small end cap. Thanks for watching. Stay safe & healthy. Wish you a joyous New Year.
I don't have too many problems with the un screwable back, but I might just be negligent towards it regarding my love for the elegance of the flat ends design. But to my understanding, acrylic and resins are materials sesceptible to expansion and contraction due to change is weather conditions. It isn't Very major but keeping in consideration the fragile nature of resins, the slightly expansions and contractions might leave the pen in danger of some damage so metal rings are many times incoorperated to the backs in some way or another, it's a cheap solution to prevent it, sure you could perfect the design to avoid that like higher end companies like Edison have, but indeed they're expensive. For a $20-$30 pen using such high quality acrylic, I think it's forgiveable and the accents do add a little look keeping it from looking bland. I know penbbs 323 I think the name was has a smooth back, but it has a curved in back! I'm not 100% sure about the authenticity of this information but I read this at a pen Maker's comments section on Instagram which I forgot who's sadly
From my view & experience acrylic is a very stable material, much more than injection-molded plastic. Not sure what you mean by Edison designs being less prone to damage. From my view, the quality of the acrylic is the main factor in the longevity of the pen. Have you seen FIne Writing indestructible barrel? That is a good statement on the strength of resin. 323 watch my video - th-cam.com/video/JpNzmDxra-8/w-d-xo.html
@@chrisrap52 I really am attracted to the 323 it's a really interesting design and it does seem Very comfortable! Also I get what you mean, I'm not 100% about the truth in why I think the ring is incoorperated. And I have seen acrylic cracking, I know injection molded resin is weak but it is more flexible but I think about what we believe. Our opinions and also like I mentioned I'm not too concerned about the un screwable blind cap or the metal ring, I think the accent is definitely a look! If I feel the back piece is too annoying I might consider gluing it! That's exactly what I did to my 409 I think the name is, the Piston one, I really disliked the Piston mechanism like I've mentioned at your channel Earlier so I just glued the rubber seal to the protruding end of the blind cap for an extra seal and glued the screws in and converted it into an eyedropper!
That blind cap is what made me think in the Instagram posts that this was a smaller 355. Stinks that it unscrews like that. I love my 308 in cedar and the Niango is very attractive as well! Great review as always!
Thank you. Enjoy your videos too. Together we are The Channels to watch. Bobby's just added lots of interesting pens to Etsy. Especially a NATAMI that EDC loves. Also a Lorelei piston. Very hard to keep up with all these new pens.
If you are that afraid of it coming off then put thread lock on it. Otherwise, it *should* be easily removable because those who use them may drop them. If the acrylic breaks it's easy to replace.
Just ordered one on the Etsy shop: I had resisted, just eyeing the Cedar finish from afar since I discovered it, because 'I'm not buying anymore pens', but I just got pulled over the edge,,, again. I had heard it tends to crack,,, we'll see.
First: it is even easier to clean the pens if used in eyedropper Mode. And, more important: you can exchange the caps to create your own "Sailor-esque" designs.
Picked up this and a 308 in the #1 cedar finish in Fine from eBay tonight for $25 ea. shipped. It really is special. Thanks, as always. PS: saw a 309 demo in this too but I was tapped out. lol
I prefer the 352 to the 350. Different pens, one metal no clip, one resin STD design. The 352 is a very balanced pen that feels very good in the hand. I prefer the feel of resin over anodized aluminum.
Thanks for another great video Chris and the nib comparisons. I too am a medium nib guy and ordered the 352 Niangao with a medium nib which writes great. I have been looking for a fine other than the standard fine to use and the rounded fine seems to fit 5he bill from your review. I also have the Tiny Happiness and the Moon River in the 353. I enjoy the aesthetic and these finishes but prefer the extra weight of a 355/456 or even 308. Is it just me or do you think the 308s have slightly thicker acrylic than the 352? Hope the 352s are durable. Again thanks for a very informative video
I like most of the pens you talk about , but what about bigger nibs, Broad, 1.1,1.5 these are the ones I write with. Do the Chinese pens (penbbs) come with bigger nibs
Thanks. I appreciate the look at the 352 and the broader overview. Do you have a model in mind for a second pen in cedar? For me, the 308 in cedar is certainly tempting.

Thanks for this, and the comparison. The 600s and C1 are probably next on my list, but I love the look of the 352s.
That cedar one! It's beautiful!
Thank you, it is a good looker.

Chris, thank you, you are the king of comparison. Well done, sir..
Best to keep everything in perspective.
I have a 308 in cedar (in gold trim too). Dear God is that acrylic amazing.
You lucky dog.

@@carolevilleneuve7411 We'll see in a few months.
I like the fake blind cap, as it makes the pen easier to clean.
No reason for ink to be in barrel. Not an ED model.
chrisrap52 yeah, but if the converter becomes loose ( that has happened to me before) or cartridge, it is easier to clean some ink out.
That can be a challenge.

Hadn't thought of "create your own pen". As for eyedropper, need to insure no leaks, use lots of silicone grease as there is no o-ring.

You are welcome. ☺️
chrisrap52 Whoops. I lied. Just found the 309 for $22. I can do that. Now I have a trio on the way. Excellent.
If you had to compare the 350 and 352 in terms of size and comfort? Thank you!
I prefer the 352 to the 350. Different pens, one metal no clip, one resin STD design. The 352 is a very balanced pen that feels very good in the hand. I prefer the feel of resin over anodized aluminum.
Can't wait for my Moonman C1 and M6 to come in the post.

I agree 308s feel more substantial. They put on new clip, added dumb finial on barrel. Maybe they were going for s lighter pen.
I've heard that Wing Sung have released their vacuum filler 3013. Will you be getting one and reviewing it?
Yes, ordered last week.
I like most of the pens you talk about , but what about bigger nibs, Broad, 1.1,1.5 these are the ones I write with. Do the Chinese pens (penbbs) come with bigger nibs
Unfortunately no, but can swap in your favorite #6 nib from Jowo, Bock, Know, etc.

As strange as this may seen, at this time I am satisfied with one 352 Cedar. And I've said that before.
@@chrisrap52 No doubt. Must just be me with that on the brain.
As much as I look at other cars, I only on one.
Love the comparisons
Always enjoy your reviews... Do you know how many pens you own? I'm amazed, and just curious,,, but it's none of my business!
Counting my vintage, over 5,000. But I've never counted. One cannot have too much of what one enjoys if kept in perspective.
@@chrisrap52 Your wife must appreciate it so very much!
So much that she turned a room into a Pen Room. My fortress of solitude & quiet. At least I'm not collecting cars or motorcycles.
@@chrisrap52 You have a point there, it could be much worse!!
Thank you, Chris.
Thanks Chris .
