It was so fun to meet you!! I hope we can meet up again one day. Remember if you ever wanna bounce ideas off me or anything i am always here!! I enjoy my Alberta stitchy family!!! Its always a joy to share our passion of stitching together!!! Happy Stitching!!
Thank you Denise! It was tonnes of fun, and it would be nice to get together one day (maybe even with Lisa.. :-D) I'll also have to look into the google chat groups you were telling me about, I'd like to give that a try as well one day
I just finished watching all of your videos. Your projects are all breathtaking! The butterfly Chatelaine is just stunning. And I love your taste in patterns. You have inspired me to try some Jeannette Douglas designs. It's so great you got to meet her. I love the Drawn Thread also. I have the Autumn Garden in my collection, and I've been stitching on Give Thanks. I love stitching on it and learning all of the specialty stitches. Your retreat looked like so much fun. The projects you were filming were amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing more videos and more of your progress. Happy Stitching!
Thank you so much, You really should try one of Jeannette's patterns, I've been working on Acorn Stitches since I've been back and am hoping to have it finished by my next video. I would really like to try of of the Drawn Thread patterns, I have so many to choose from I might have to resort to drawing a pattern out of a hat :-)
love all of your goodies and your starts on your stitching holiday, sounds like you had a fantastic time. and thanks for sharing the tip in the hardanger wip, good to know. :) happy stitching
Glad you had a great time at camp! Your stash!!!! Those Drawn Thread patterns are just gorgeous they'll look so beautiful as companion pieces. Look forward to your next update :-)
Hi Jenn! Glad you had fun at camp. Great start on Acorn stitches, the fabric you chose is perfect. I really like that whole series, the vintage one is my fave I think.
Hi Stephanie. I'm really loving acorn stitches, it's what I've been working on since I've been home and I would really like to show off a finish in my next video. I have Vintage stitches in my stash as well and maybe I'll start that one next year... If too many other projects don't get in my way ;-)
Hello from a fellow Canadian! I found you thanks to Dee Stitcher. I really enjoyed your video. Stitching retreats are great, I'm going to one in England in February. The same one Dee attended last year actually. Love the pieces you're working on and yes you are correct about the alphabets missing letters in traditional samplers. Most reproduction pieces we see now still chart them that way and newer designers also do it as a homage to the traditional way of stitching. I think the new long dog sampler piece Death by Cross Stitch is also missing the J, Q & V. Happy stitching.
Hello! It's nice to meet another Canadian! Your so lucky to be going to a stitching retreat all the way in England. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Thanks for watching :-)
Your welcome, I wasn't sure if anyone else had themselves a mini meltdown, like I did, when they noticed. I was so glad to find out the reason behind it :-)
Great video. You are doing wonderful work, especially on the hardanger. I will never be that brave. You haul is terrific. I love the Jeanette Douglas By The Sea, but the specialty stitches scare me too!
Thank you very much. If you want to give specialty stitches a go try Bee's needleworks www.beesneedleworks.co.uk/ I have both her Great Escape and Tree of Stitches in my stash. The Great Escape is a 32 page long, with 29 pages of specialty stitch instructions. They really aren't that bad if you just go slowly :-)
Thank you for sharing your progress and haul from stitch camp! The camp sounds awesome, would love to go but I think I might be too far away living in Australia! 😃 it was very interesting to hear about the history on the alphabet samplers. It was lovely to see the video at the end too, so many stunning pieces. Look forward to your next video!
Thank you, I'm kind all over the place with patterns and go through phases of buying from various designers. I can't wait to get started on some of the new ones I've purchased though
Nice video! Glad you got an answer about the J. I am old history teacher plus I have done at least 100 samplers. there is quite a few without the J and w.
It really caught me off guard when I noticed it and I'm so glad to find out the reasoning for it. WOW, over 100 sampler? Your a stitching machine, that's quite the accomplishment!
I am stitching Gathering Honey. I put an I in mine because in years to come my family won't understand. I'll post a pic on Stitch Mania if you'd like. I love and stitch all kinds of bees
I would love to see your progress on gathering honey! I have another stitching retreat coming up in May so think I will be taking it with me to get some more progress on it, since I haven't worked on it since the fall. I went through a phase where I became obsessed over bees, practically bought every chart I could find with them. Lol
Everything looks so good! I have an idea for Gathering Honey...you could stitch just your initials and then add in bees all around them. It would kind of be symmetrical but not lol. I have all those garden patterns from Victoria Sampler on my wishlist because of Amanda also! I also blame you for making me add a bunch of Jeanette Douglas patterns.
I really like your idea for Gathering Honey, I've been busy trying to finish acorns before I pull out one of these other wips so I'm still have some time to decide what to do with it. I find Amanda a huge enabler as well she finds some really beautiful patterns. I also just placed another order to get the last Jeanette Douglas I need for her by the sea series, now I need to be good for a while ;-)
Great video. If you were using the millennium frame can you tell me if you ordered it from England or somewhere else? And, do you have the stand as well? Do you enjoy using this frame? Thanks.
Thank you! Yes, I do have a Millennium frame with the Necessaire Stand I ordered it directly from needle needs and I love it. However, I did have to wait 6-7 months for it to arrive and got extremely frustrated with the lack of customer service. I have heard amazing things about the Quantium Frame and probably would have ordered one if I hadn't paid for my Millennium at the time. OriettaStitches did a fantastic review of the Quantium Frame that you can watch here: th-cam.com/video/bXgVHFPdqq4/w-d-xo.html
It was a blast, 4 days of rest, relaxation and stitching. It is a cross stitch retreat organized by the Frame Corner here in Edmonton, the do 2 per year and it takes place at Deer Valley Meadows in Alix, Alberta. framecorner.ca/ The retreat info is out of date, but their contact info is still current
Wow, loving those Drawn Thread patterns, cheers for sharing. Happy stitching.
My pleasure, Thanks for watching :-)

Thank you very much, I'm glad to know fixing an unwanted cut thread is much easier than I originally thought as well
That art work takes my breath away, so beautiful. Loved your pieces as well : )
Thank you :-)
Thanks for the sharing the camp finishes-some gorgeous work. Your new Jeannette Douglas and Drawn Thread charts are great. Another fun video!
Thank you very much, I'm hoping to get a few smaller finishes by the end of this year now :-)
Glad you enjoyed your retreat and nice to hear all the news from there. Love your new stash ! Tks for sharing !
Your welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for sharing all those gorgeous pieces! Excited to see more of your progress!
Thank you, I've been working on acorn stitches since I've gotten back, I'd like to finish it before I pull out one of the others to work on
Lots of lovely projects and patterns! 🤗🙋🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!
Glad you had a great time at camp! Your stash!!!! Those Drawn Thread patterns are just gorgeous they'll look so beautiful as companion pieces. Look forward to your next update :-)
Yes, I can't wait to start one of the Drawn Thread patterns, I might have to add several into my list of starts for next year
You got loads done on the retreat!
Thanks, although you would think that having nothing to do but sit and stitch all day I could always accomplish so much more!
Glad you had fun on your trip. Some wonderful patterns you picked up.
Thank you, now the trouble is deciding what my next new start will be... :-)
Sounds like you had a great time and I enjoyed seeing your new starts as well as the show & tell from camp!
Thanks Michelle, I'm already counting down the days until the next retreat!
everything is so beautiful! glad to find you!
Thank you, I'm glad you found me too :-)

great update! love your new starts and the new patterns you bought. so cool you met Denise, she is visiting me in Italy next year :-)
Thank you, Dee was mentioning going to visit you, that would be so exciting. I'm sure you ladies are going to have a great time
Very interesting about the alphabet in older samplers. Thanks for sharing. Great progress on your new starts!
Your welcome, I wasn't sure if anyone else had themselves a mini meltdown, like I did, when they noticed. I was so glad to find out the reason behind it :-)
great progress on your new starts, and those drawn thread charts are so beautiful :)
Thank you. I've never done a Drawn Thread chart before, I might have to make one of them a new start for next camp :-)
Great progress. I saw Dee's video camp looked like fun!!
It was so much fun and it was awesome to meet another floss tuber!

Yes, I think Australia light be a bit far away, too bad :-( Their were many talented sitchers there, it's so nice to see a wide variety of work
I really love your pattern aesthetic, it matches mine! Enjoy your videos.
Thank you, I'm kind all over the place with patterns and go through phases of buying from various designers. I can't wait to get started on some of the new ones I've purchased though
enjoyed your video .. love the pieces your working on

The serenity piece do you know who the designer is?
I could be wrong, but I think it's Erica Michaels www.123stitch.com/item/Erica-Michaels-Serenity-Cross-Stitch-Pattern/09-1145
Hope this helps :-)

By the way, just went into read about the alphabet, very interesting, never knew that !
I was totally unaware of it myself, I also never thought I'd get a history lesson doing cross stitch either :-)
