I have a Clash II 2500 and a 4000 on Star Seagis rods. The 2500 is blast inshore. But the Slammer III is one of the best reels that's come out in some time. Those drags wow! Indian River Lagoon System
I agree Dixon. The performance of my Slammer drags are up there with my Saltiga drags and the carbontex drag upgrades we offer in store. I think the point of the Clash is light performance, offering a blend of good drags, a light stiff body and pretty nice styling. While it is always my intention to put new reels through there paces with solid fish, this particular fight was a brutal test for such a small reel, due to the amount of bullying it took to stop the fish getting down to the reef in such shallow water, high current and heavy wind. I feel confident that most Penn folks are going to enjoy fishing with the new clash reels. Thanks for taking the time to comment on the vid. Cheers. OX
I already own the Battle II combo ur2.pl/2314 and decided to try a Fierce II combo to carry out to the pier. Works great and for the money they are hard to beat.
No my friend. That is the original that came with the reel. I always test reels in there original state, with standard drags, handles, factory grease levels etc. That way I gain genuine insight when I test what I am going to sell to my customers :-)
@@karniskavva That is the handle that arrived with it. I'm in New Zealand and sometimes we get slightly different variations to suit our market. The other possibility is that you may have been seeing media of the 2500 clash. As with many reel manufacturer, Penn often change the handle size and sometimes the shape of the handle knobs and handle shaft lengths between 2500 and 3000 size reels, to suit the change between the biggest of the finnesse size reels (2500) and the smallest of the heavy inshore/power size reels (3000). Hope that helps
That is the Penn Regiment 701lm 7' 1 pce 4-7kg from 4 seasons ago. It was made with Fuji silicone carbide guides and composite cork/eva grips. Not a heavy rod but it has accounted for 23 Kingfish now, with the best being 22kg. It seams to have a lot of luck attracting them :-)
Hi Manuel. I haven't used a Saragosa yet, but I have serviced them and they are well made. I think both of them should fish well for you and last well with maintenance. Cheers. OX
Thanks for the tip. We are not sponsored fishermen and we are really not going for the highest quality video content when doing our field tests. We are genuinely out trying to find the best preforming products, so that we can sell them to our customers in store with complete confidence. We also usually try to stay off the water when it is blowing over 25 kts for safety reasons so that isn't something we have had to put a lot of thought into, and we usually just run the go pro naked. It is always nice to try to continually improve though, so I will take your advise on board. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Cheers. OX
Which rod is that I would like to pare my clash with that rod.

You'll be blown away by the performance of the Pursuit III range then. As far as value for money goes, they are outstanding.
What kind of rod are you using? Medium, Medium Light?

Did you change the reeling knob?

You feel it better than saragosa?

Dress you microphone in fur when you do public test, so we can listen what you are saying!
