CHI-TOWN HUSTLER! NITRO OUTLAW! DODGE OMNI F/C! COOL VINTAGE TOW RIG! RT66!

Owner Troy Martin and crew along with driver Mike Minick, who is the grandson of the original driver of the legendary Chi-Town Hustler get in some test hits at RT66 preparing for Funny Car Nationals in Martin ,MI Sept 9-10. Built for outlaw match racing the Dodge Omni now has a new Canode 3 rail chassis along with a new 500 CI direct drive motor combo all done with the help of Tom Motry and John Lawson. First run was an 1/8 mile check pass of 3.95 @ 195mph. Second run was a 1000 ft pass 3.82 @ 201 in the 1/8 mile with an early shut off 5.91@ 213.

Thinking about doing a rap on the rear of my Corvette as a tribute to this car I'm running a blown small block with nitrous 5 point cage and Two NOS bottles and a intercooler by Tegue marine so i think it would be fitting ? Hopefully I have no trademark issues not going to make any money just my way of saying thank you for helping me grow up in the right way drag racing

They don't do it like this anymore! Flashy paint schemed bodies that were actually painted, recognizable Car bodies with shape and character other than wedge shaped billboards. Long smoky burnouts, the dry hops. All gone! Corporate and big money came in and really did a number to the sport I used to love so much! Sure, the cars are quicker and faster now but frankly I find today's drag racing with it's cookie-cutter race cars quite boring today. The teams are roped off now. You used to be able to rub elbows with the drivers and crews Where there were 4 or 5 people working on these cars, now you have 20 all working at ridiculously break neck speed to meet what I think is a ludicrous timeline Night racing is all but gone. Yes, I know, things change and growth is essential..... But is it, really?.... Always?!
