There nothing wrong with it. But there is a vast difference between temper and passion. Passion should be unbridled expression, but not an excuse for having a temper without control. It’s like, if you paid good money to see a concert, let it be a concert, if you want to spend the same money for politics, by all means, do so, attend a fundraiser or a debate. There is room enough for both, but don’t mistake a musical venue or stage for a personal soap box.

The members of sad wolves did not write their new album it was all written entirely by Tommy vext.
First of all can you prove he wrote all of it? Secondly even IF he did, did Tommy play guitar, bass, and drums too? No. So therefore it doesn’t make the songs exclusively his.

Only one member of BW was in God Forbid and that’s Doc. Everyone else has been around the scene for well over a decade though. John was a founding member of DevilDriver. Kyle was a member of In This Moment and Joey Jordison’s side projects. Chris was in Bury Your Dead. And now they have DL who was a part of The Acacia Strain.

Moody even alluded to him laying his hands on the other guys in BW. If you need further evidence, go look into why he was kicked out of Divine Heresy. It was over a decade before he became political. Hell, he’s been kicked out of every band he’s ever been in. No one is perfect, but there seems to be a pattern going on with Tommy.

I actually like Tommy although don't always agree with him he speaks his mind and people hate that. I really like 5FDP too personally but for what its worth my friend who has opened up for them who i wont name for obvious reasons said that they were the furthest thing from humble, opposite of what the fans say. He used to be a huge 5FDP fan and now he hates them because of his interaction with them at the show. That being said i'm going to see them in September, i'm pumped!
5FDP is my favorite band of this generation. I also like Tommy Vext and Badwolves. I’m so glad that Ivan got clean and sober, and he seems to have wised up a lot.

Living the dream video was very political a lot of patriotic symbolism in 5FDP music and videos. Pro military pro police those are very political things especially now. So really not sure where he has a problem with Vext. Is it because Vext took it a step further, and was basically like fuck it this is who I am, this is what I see, and I'm calling it out? People say don't discuss religion or politics but those are 2 things that really make a person who they are, and musicians show it all the time just maybe not as blatantly.
Sounds more like he's closer with the remaining Bad Wolves guys and doesn't like seeing his friends get attacked, literally and figuratively.

I personally believe it’s mixed messages between the entertainers and fan based. On one hand, I can see Ivan’s point of “play music, don’t talk about BS (politics).” But on the other, music has been an open-ish Avenue to spread certain messages both good and bad - dependent on the individual.
Additionally, the fans are egging it on. Ya got the groups that only wants to hear the music, but there’s also those that want the dirty secrets or “authenticity” from the bands. So what wins out?
And since Better Noise also produces for FFDP, I can’t help but get the inclination that if Ivan stepped out to defend Tommy at all, then it’s curtains for him, Zoltan, or whoever, too.

I used to love Tommy but I do feel like he's gone off the deep end a bit. I agree with some of his positions but definitely not all of them. Ivan is definitely right in saying the stage is not the place for political speeches. Does Tommy have a right to do that? Sure. But it's not the best platform for it.

Both artists are immensely talented and very passionate about how they feel. It's not my place to judge or side. I mean ..why side? Ivan is talented.. outspoken and passionate. Tommy has undeniable talent and the most powerful vocals I've ever heard..and he is also talented and outspoken. What happened with BadWolves is ones word against the others. Only they know the truth but I have mad respect for Tommy for his follow thru with his label. In the end we still have two amazing artists who say what's on their mind. Tommy is too talented to not have a very successful career. I think it will take a little time but it's going to happen. 🤘
I think Ivan took the wrong stance on this one. His own music has often been quite political; it's just that he's taken his own position as a given, as though he hasn't taken a stance. Sure, Tommy was over-the-top, and it wasn't to my taste, but the whole "just play a song" point is moot, as they played plenty, lol. I'd just leave it to the fans and await their feedback, rather than forcing anyone's hand.

What Ivan is talking about is something that I think unfortunately has been happening to far too many people in this country. They start to get into politics more than they probably ever have and then they allow those politics, and the people they're listening to about it, warp and twist their mindsets into making everything about the political beliefs they either had but never openly expressed, or never had before into their personal identity and then they lash out at anyone who for even a split second disputes, critiques or disagrees with what that person has become. You're fine to have political beliefs and other things associated with that, but you can't let it become who you are as a person. Unfortunately it seems like Tommy has allowed his political beliefs to become just that and part of that is what has led to the events we've witnessed over the past year or two between Tommy, Bad Wolves and BNM.

Gotta say, as a young guy that loves ffdp, Tommys bad wolves is the first time i bought cds, albums, etc, I support both artist, i understand where Ivan is coming from nd i respect, but im was and can still be a young hot headed guy that will take a mfs head off for disrespecting what i believe in, idk Tommy or ivan personally, but for me who does stand more on Tommy side, its not about the politics, the politics are the thing destroying the culture and traditions we believe in, so that is where our anger nd frustration tend to be aimed, then the hothead comes in when a confrontation arises. It passion, just not weilded properly, and i can apologize for myself in that.

I like a person that stays away from trash talking on social media and if there's an issue go talk it out. There's so many people washing their dirty laundry in public on fuckin Facebook (piece of snit that is) and forcing their political or religious beliefs on others and hate anyone who disagrees with them. Gone are the days we're you TALK to people, having meaningful conversations and building real relationships and that's truly sad. I worked in a nursing home for years and I gotta say I loved it, I built friendships there and spent hours talking with them. The best conversation I had was with an 87 year old dock worker ,he had such a rad life and I miss the guy but I never had a conversation as meaningful as that since. I tried Facebook when it first launched, deleted it 2 years later as I found that platform so toxic, it just kills me that children are using it. Sorry everyone went off on a tangent there but I stand by the spirit of my words.
