As someone who very much does dabble I love running it in a WINE sandbox and not worrying about something that cannot execute on my host. Don't need AV software over here.
@notjustforhackers4252 it'd be a real shame if some ransomware decided to access your z drive... or of it started doing stuff on the network to other devices, among other things that would still work under wine. Wine's not exactly on the level of running in a virtual machine. You can configure access to make it more sandboxed but it's not 100% foolproof against stopping malware spreading/affecting. You may also get a false sense of security if a malware's payload doesn't run correctly in wine. Also, if you are using a cracked .exe for a program that doesn't run correctly under wine, how can you validate it?
Have you used ClamAV before? I'm genuinely curious to know how this ono competes. It is a linux based AV, but I'm sure it can be used on Windows machines :P

I would love to see a video on both of those. This is just a request of course and I enjoy your channel for mitigating malware and putting security first!
Another great video. Just wondering whats the best way to find out if there is some sort of info stealer or a keylogger on your system.
Is it possible for you to do a dive into Kaspersky and determine if it's collecting data and sending it? It looks so good, but I'm completely scared to use it because of the accusations.
Microsoft is already doing that xd if you don't want anyone to spy you just don't use technology
