Anyways, I was looking at stuff and filling my basket and this lady and her husband walked by and she is telling him how some people buy this stuff and list it to sell for like double the price. She was saying it snarky and made sure I heard it. I just smiled to myself and kept going. I thought it was funny.
Doing this is literally the same thing that every store does lol I don’t understand why some people get upset over this at least your trying to make money for your family
Leather purses can be cleaned and conditioned with saddle soap and a fine nail brush, the Leather will darken a bit in the process but could lighten up with air and sun exposure. 💞💞🙃💞💞
Contact a Puerto Rican art gallery. If you can locate the museum with his focus - a private sale may be much more profitable as well as allowing far more people to see his gorgeous art work. The fragile glass was a good indicator of age. Go for private sale before ever eBay
On the drawing, if you can, peek under the mat, and see if it's yellow...acid burn from the cardboard. If not, it was properly framed. If it does have the acid burn, that's part of the condition. I would try to show it to an auction house in your area, or online. Get it appraised. Also, when I sell original art, I always start high and run it as an auction. Instead of glass, I would pick up a piece of plex-i-glas which costs more, but is lighter and won't break in shipping. It can also be a selling feature. Good luck!

I was an art historian in my younger years (now a full time mama), and I wholeheartedly agree with earlier comments…get it authenticated. I would look up who has written articles about the artist and where they work/teach, then shoot them an email with an image of your print. Most will be able to tell you if the print seems to be generally correct (not a forgery), and let you know if it worth it to pay for a full in person authentication. Authenticated pieces can get higher prices, but it may not be worth the price for a charcoal drawing. If you want to go for the quick sale, I think your instinct at 500.00 for a listing sounds pretty sound. Another possibility is to look for an art gallery that might sell it for you on commission. It’s all a bit of a gamble. Personally, I think it is charming and I would have it professionally framed and hang it on my wall. 🥰
For the handles of your Toole leather purse w/ the horse-try using horse saddle soap it’s a wax that conditions them and also works as an oil (like furniture polish) the word is on the tip of my tongue but I can’t think due to my disability. Best wishes Margret

11:34 Here (DC Area) some of the auction houses that do fine art auctions will consult with you over the phone and let you submit photos. Then they will tell you if it is their kind of thing. Auction houses generally take 50%.
I had that Sithmas mug, it got broke this year. Good luck with that drawing. I have a piece of art I'm struggling with at the moment. Picked it up at an estate sale, it's signed obviously an original pen drawing of a train conductor. I found 1 artist it might be. He has 1 other pen train drawing but the signature is different on some pieces and I can't zoom in on that one. There aren't very many prices. Ugh, it's frustrating. I'm about ready to price it at $50 and just call it macaroni. I only paid $1. 🤷♂️ maybe $75 or $99 with best offer. You have found better pic for your artist than I have plus he's an ethnic artist which I think can be a bigger draw sometimes. Sure go high. Maybe try an auction with a semi-high start price you'd still be happy getting, see if it goes for more. Good luck, keep us posted!
I used to work at a thrift store and there was a few times where we got in shoes like you described where the top is in HORRIBLE condition but the soles looked brand new and ones where the top and insides looked like they were NEVER worn and the bottoms were so worn down the rubber was almost gone! Weird!

Seems like you guys live near Austin which will be good for selling the charcoal drawing. I'd try to find a gallery that would sell for you (make sure they are insured, contract, etc) or even look into selling it on a specialized art auction. Wonderful find. You might also consider keeping as an investment. If you do that make sure it's acid free matts and GLASS not acrylic as acrylic will pull off the charcoal with time due to static electricity. Also research the artist. Try to find museum exhibitions, museum collections he is in. Take care-mary

I briefly researched drawing by Juan Deprey (sp) He was in an exhibition at the WHITNEY MUSEUM ☆ big deal!!! He died in '62. His work is during the MID-CENTURY MODERN time period of decorating which is extremely hot! Personally, I'd keep this drawing and ride out the price increases. You guys are young. Do not hang where lots of sunlight will hit the piece. Also don't hang or store in a hot, humid room. Take care-mary

It will take months and months of research and you will always be learning something new daily. Most look up items on EBAY then go to solds then go highest with shipping. Margaret has been doing this for years!
Mercari told me someone reported my Cocomelon soft musical book with the baby on a tether was fraud and they took it off and if I ever think about posting fraud items again, I will be removed. I was so mad and confused because it was not fraud. Has anyone else had that happen to them?
Yes. On Ebay I had some tarot cards for sale. Somebody, I guess the creator of the cards, reported them as Chinese counterfeits and Ebay took the listing down. Ebay said they were going to give me the benefit of the doubt that I didn't know.

I always check the purses for money even check the ones hanging. Goodwill hardly ever checks the deep pockets 🤑
