Delbert is a Fort Worth Texas blues legend. He always utilized world class musicians. The guitarist here is James Pennebaker, also from Fort Worth is such an unheralded multi instrumentalist. The organ is a Hammond B3.

The keyboard is classic piano, like a real wood and string instrument that from the late 1800's to 1960's were in most upper middle class and higher homes. Excellent that you are listening to Delbert, top blues harp player and song writer. The Blues Brothers covered one of his songs on their first album and many others have covered him. Being in a blues band for the last 20 years, it's a fairly niche style.

I've seen Delbert countless times over the last 40+ years and he always brings it!! He's always got just monster players in his bands and I've never seen a show that was less than fabulous. Delbert's interactions with the audience are pretty fun too ... he's been known to let a pretty girl or two get up and sing with him, with mixed results. He was playing the Kansas City Blues and Jazz Festival in the mid-90s and had a hot babe up on stage trying to sing (poorly) and one of the guys in the band said... "Hey man ... ease up, you're embarrassing her" ... to which Delbert replied "I'm not embarrassing her, she's embarrassing herself!" Good times!!!!

Delbert is a blues/rock/ honky tonk legend out of Austin Texas. He’s had a great career and has written songs for many people. He always has top notch, grade A musicians in stage with him. Funny you mentioned SRV. I have to believe they knew each other. Great song and so glad to hear him on your channel. I loved your comments on this one. 🔥

Back in the day all TEXAS blues musicians knew and supported each other. And we all shared the stages with each other without arrogance just love and respect.

The bottom keys are set as an upright piano sound and the upper keys are for Wurlitzer organ sound.

Hurrah. Love me some Delbert. A musician’s musician. He does it from love not for fame. He’s originally from Fort Worth not Austin and cut his teeth on the tough north side bars up and the old Jacksboro highway. Thanks

@WILBURNREACTIONS ❤ I’ve seen him live more times than I can remember and he’s ELECTRIC live!! My parents introduced me to his music when I was in elementary school and he’s been the soundtrack to my life for 50+ years. My husband and I bonded on our second date because I found out that he loved his music too. Delbert is a Texas blues legend!! Great reaction! Please do more!!! ❤❤❤
