Rare Flathead Speed Equipment and 32 Ford Parts!! - ITG Pacific Northwest Trip Day 2

  • Matt's tour guide Rick has two more amazing spots to check out on day 2 of the Pacific Northwest Adventure. The first stop is at a Father and Son's collection of amazing early ford cars and parts. The father who is 95 has a 1934 Argentinian Built Ford Phaeton and a COMPLETE Flathead Kr Wilson tool set. Not to mention rooms filled with Ford literature and the telegraphs from when Edsel and Henry Ford died. Oh yeah and a wall with all kinds of aluminum flathead parts!! Stop #2 is with Dean A who converted his late fathers home, into a Early Fords parts store. Dean's father had one heck of a parts stash and Matt instantly starts digging. Matt finds some chrome suspension goodies and even a few 32 Ford parts. We would like to thank everyone that has opened their collections for us to see so far and thanks to Rick for helping set it up!!!

Agreed since they were production quality, not high end nut and bolt restorations using better materials. Sad part is, the stock 1920-40s Fords are mostly garage art in collections and not on the road because they are not equipped for modern traffic and idiots. After years of white knuckle driving, i upgraded to disk brakes and radials to give me a chance against people who don't realize I couldn't stop as well as their 2019 Civic.

Hey Matt, Nice addition to your Trip videos.
Sure was nice of that fella to take you around.
Also nice of the people who let you purchase items you wanted.
Some of the collections old school hot rodders have now are amazing.
Keep it up and you will be one of us old duffers someday !
But do it while you can !
When you get old you have the time, and in most cases the money.
But the energy just doesn't last like it used to.
So we watch guys like you and drool over some of the finds as well as dream about what we would like to do.
I still have several projects in the works, but they get less and less time because I have to take breaks way more often than I used to.
    Please enjoy your trip !
See ya in the next video !

The '32 hood side panels have 20 louvers, which make it an early one. The way I remember it, Ford added another five[?] louvers later in production in an attempt to address an overheating problem. Of course, running the exhaust passages through the water jackets didn't help much.
    Oh yeah, Hi from Australia.
