It wasn't till I watched this that something my mum and Grandma said made sense. My mum's side are Scottish, my dad's is Irish. Protestant and Catholic, respectively.
They commented how such a thing used to be frowned on - and I didn't understand. As a kid, I thought 'That's different religions. What's that got to do with love?' Seeing this, and the stuff I've learned in recent years about the Troubles ... the 'scandal' makes more sense. Though both my parents and my grandparents grew up in Australia. I didn't think such a thing, from our ancestors should mean much ... but it does. Still.

While searching for my roots, we visited Derry, there is a little museum there that we toured, it brought me to tears, I remember watching the riots on the news here in Canada and my Irish Granddad being so sad to watch what was happening and not being able to do anything, it brought a flood of emotions through 2 generations almost 40 years apart.

A lot of northern Irish moved to Canada to escape the troubles and start a new life, it’s incredibly sad what poor working class people had to endure back then. My mother grew up on the falls road in Belfast and their home was constantly destroyed by the British soldiers doing random searches for weapons. Thankful they moved and raised me in the peaceful south of Ireland. I live in Toronto now and meet plenty of northern Irish here.

Heard about it from the TV? Not even from a person first?
      That's cold.

It would be helpful to viewers if one knew in which order the segments should be seen. For instance 1 of 7; 2 of 7, etc)

His natural color is such a beautiful rich coppery auburn, I wish he'd go back to it. Maybe it's been dyed for roles since he started graying, but that dark dark brown lately doesn't suit him as well

Politics... do like to split and divide. Time for us to see it. And change it.

The ruling upper classes pulling the working class apart and making them fight among themselves, it’s the same the world over.

As part Irish, I haven't been able to understand why this feud between Protestants and Catholics has been going on for so long.

He’s Church of Scotland. In fact, I believe his dad, who is a minister, was Moderator for a few years.

The protestant side is portrayed really badly in this videos. Sad that the BBC aren't doing impartial reporting. Both sides suffered.
