- I love waakye and make it very often for my family and friends. One thing you can count on when I serve you waakye is that I will most definitely give you the real waakye experience. Try this experience and you will be so happy you did.👌🏾❤️
Ingredients for stew:
3.5 lb goat meat
1 lb cow skin
6 lb fresh tomatoes
10 oz tomato paste
1.5 cups cooking oil
1 tablespoon curry powder
2 habaneros
1 Maggie shrimp tablet
1 teaspoon aniseed
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
Ingredients for Waakye:
3 cups rice
1 lb (2 cups) black eyed peas
3-4 full length sorghum leaves aka waakye leaves or about 7 cut ones
1 teaspoon baking soda /bicarbonate of soda
1 teaspoon salt or to your taste.
8 cups water

Having visited Ghana multiple times, I always enjoy eating Waakye, so it 's definitely interesting to see how it's made. It's very similar to West Indian rice & peas
