What a fantastic project. I've just started a mere 5 acre rewilding woodland project in West Sussex. We are doing lots of hedgerow work. My love is birds. Thank you for your inspiration.

10% of England should be possible, so that would be 3.2 milion acres in a wild natural state. I can't see why that is not a realistic goal for England.
We are always going to need to import food, so importing a little more dosent seem to bad a price to pay for this.

Turtle doves, hoopoe and great grey shrike visit my lanzarote wildlife ponds... So many warblers, barn owls, linnets, stone curlews, bluetits, nightingales , nightjars and pippets like Kent when I was a boy... Occasionally a huge visiting flock of bee eaters.. Lanzarote is surprisingly diverse, all very threatened sadly.. But amazing what a good wildlife pond draws in.!! In a semi desert a pond is magical... The day I completed one pond I counted 13 baby bluetits most using my boots as a perch!

excellent video and essential viewing for wildlife recovery , shame prince Charles and Queen are still refusing to rewild Balmoral the most nature depleted biological desert in Scotland but he does make good speeches on saving the environment !

Any wat er bodies need to be honored as the functional aspects of hydrology where function includes downed woody debris, realizing various potentials of Vernal ponds very unique indeed for Riparian or Wetlands where amphibians, reptiles, insects, Native ants, insect food sources, will convert available energy.

You have many grazing animals, however they are still not grazing in a natural pattern ....because there are no predators to keep them moving.

So.. No predators? Just our guns,? Yellowstone benefitted hugely from wolf reintroduction... Can I join the small band of gatherer hunters you'll rewild with ... Let me go native?!

Knepp it up! BUT How long before we get the bears and the wolves and the lynx back? WRONG MEETING?
How about the German rebred AUROCHS? Tarpan? Wisent? I remember the British mammal society, Derek Yalden et Al have a list of 16 large mammals made extinct in Britain... I'm sure you're doing your best.. The law is an ass not the konink... Best wishes
