L. J. Reynolds' voice sounds stronger in the 80's than it sounded back in the 70's when he was with the group Dramatics. I've always loved this man's voice... I've always thought that it was a powerful, meaningful, and manly voice. This man could sing the panties off the finest ladies...
Great! This is what real singing is all about LJ carried The Dramatics all these years, from the beginning to now. He has such a unique voice and style. He has the looks and movement to go with the voice and personality.
Reminds me of so many of the greats, why is he so under appreciated?? One of the great voices of our time - right up there with Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Walter Jackson, man, the talent is just amazing and timeless!
Larry Reynolds, has had an amazing career, but he has also had pain and struggles, I am glad to see this new side of him, I was there at his Jeanie and her childrens funeral. Glad to see that he has grown spiritually.
Thanks for this post! I still remember one of my last conversations with Larry (LJ) at Saginaw high, before he started singing with The Dramatics. Never knew it would span the world or test of time. You have charmed many Larry, thank you bro!
+Delores Bland i agree with you he can lay a song down everytime. i love the dramatics rip ron bur ron was sooo greedy he wanted all the attention im lj reynolds was and is not over looked, i love him, peace !!!!
LJ is the sh.. I love this guy and I am soooooo glad for the new cd it is on order. We will be steppin out at my girlfriend's daughter wedding reception in August. Calling out to all my friends from Saginaw who hung out at the Hide Out, Archies, J's Lounge and The Sportsman.
Just didn't know how good the good old days were. Then I put on some LJ and he certainly reminded me. If I could turn back the hands of time and know what I know now.I would have played my hand a little different. I'd da played my trump card when it was in my hand and not continued to hold it face down on my lap.
Salute to you sir...you a real player and I don't mean a player of women but a player of🎼🎤🎵🎶and you and the rest of the matics deserve solid gold bunny ears😇
Same here, I remember seeing them LIVE and found out LJ was doing a lot of the high notes that we thought Ron was doing. If you haven't already, do yourself a pleasure and pull up "Never let you go" The Dramatics. Lenny and LJ's back and forths are priceless.
I will always love ❤️ Lj not just his voice but he a man of character and a very sweet gentleman, definitely a voice from heaven right here on earth that God bless our ears to hear been along time Lj but I’m definitely looking forward to see you again. God bless you
Hey lj you know you have music for days and I love that fact that I have a selection of music. No matter what I select I always enjoy listening, this was the very first song I ever heard I was no older than eleven driving into Saginaw listening to 107 Your voice got me right then and there, and it its still got me.
Wonderful voice and a great song. LJ Reynolds made the Dramatics the great soul group of the '70's. They just did not get the marketing that they really deserve. LJ Is one of the greatest front-men ever. He can sing and is a good person too.
Clive Davis need to grab a hold to this man. You know I would like to see LJ, Sam of the Dells, Eddie of the Ojays, Dennis Edwards, and Austin of the Manhattans make a song together. THERE WOULD NOT BE ENOUGH PLATINUMS TO LABEL THE RECORD IF ALL OF THESE VOICES WERE TOGETHER. Wouldn't be enough digital in the world the press enough cd's to satisfy the demand.
The Reynolds rap is to me is the best living R&B singer out there. His range and power is 2nd to none, Reynolds and Ron were the best combination my ears have ever heard. A distant second would have been the great Eddie Kendricks and the great David Ruffin. RIP Ron.
Beautiful -- real soul singer, the kind of music that touches the heart and speaks to that deep love which most of us seek and desire. Just beautiful. Great orchestration and back up singers as well.
Craig Donahue -- Yes, it's so very lovely, just the type of love ballad I've always loved. L.J. is from Saginaw? You were so lucky to know the Dramatics and watch them rehearse!!! I was a big Dramatics fan.
Had a group (bac'in'da'dey) with a beautiful female addition, who could sang (I mean really sang) the highest note's that could be sung, we called her (Sweet'Mary) & she would have you in tears listing to her blow them note's of that song....
@Aushure articulate and well-expressed. I couldn't agree withy you more. The emotion in addition to talent -.this is what illustrates the real R&B/soul singer. I'll be listening to this for a while.
I meant cornbread gut singer. Makes you feel each word. Shake it Well, Me & Mrs. Jones. I am playing the dramatic right now. The Dramatics, Tempts, Dells, Ojays & the Manhattans R my favorite groups and I still play their music exclusively. I can tell the difference between Gerald & Eddie Levert. Gerald was an excellent singer, but he was not Eddie. It is somethig about those entertainers who had 2 get it the hard way. They made the sound from deep within & just dragged it out 2 slap you.
@ArielandKay You can't confuse them; they have the same name! (Cuba Gooding sr of Main Ingredient and Cuba Gooding jr sportsman.) LJ Reynolds has nothing to do with them. He's the Dramatics singer.
lyslinger, you are absolutely correct. LJ has that cornbread gut in his singer. The listener can feel beyond the emotion. I know people who can imitate David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, and Ron Banks. I don't know anyone who can imitate Eddie Levert, LJ Reynolds and Junior of the Dells, you know, the one who sings Stay in my Corner and Dennis Edwards. Nor do I know anyone who can imitate Melvin Franklin (RIP). Or Wilson Pickett for that matter. I based my opinon on the ability to imitate.
This is so moving. L. J. has the voice of voices. If your halfway human your going to some kind of way listening to this. Check out "I Got My Pride", on the Look Inside CD
Check Out this one by L.J. and the Dramatics My Ship Won't Sail Without You and The Dramatics and the Dells I'm In Love I'm sure that you will enjoy his remarkable voice in each of these. OldschoolM.M.

Mr. L. J. Reynolds...The voice of the famous Dramatics...
L. J. Reynolds' voice sounds stronger in the 80's than it sounded back in the 70's when he was with the group Dramatics. I've always loved this man's voice... I've always thought that it was a powerful, meaningful, and manly voice. This man could sing the panties off the finest ladies...

Detroit's on, one of the greatest singers from the great group The Dramatics, both underrated.
Reminds me of so many of the greats, why is he so under appreciated?? One of the great voices of our time - right up there with Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Walter Jackson, man, the talent is just amazing and timeless!
Thanks real love music

LJ has that great R&B/soul voice, the impeccable style, timing and range that makes classic R&B such a legacy.
This is my jam!!! LJ sings with so much passion, especially on "Tell me you will" and "I can't get over you". 🎶 ❤️

Hey lj you know you have music for days and I love that fact that I have a selection of music. The queen of soul would be proud. Aretha Franklin song. she made this in the 60's
L .J. Reynolds says he wants do a duet with Queen Aretha. Whatever they record together would be a GUARANTEED smash!!!
He song this at Aretha's Christmas party in 2016. She invited him to sing this song.

I like the song
Beautiful -- real soul singer, the kind of music that touches the heart and speaks to that deep love which most of us seek and desire. Just beautiful. Great orchestration and back up singers as well.
Beautiful song! LJ is from Saginaw Mi where I grew up in the early 60's-late 70's. I used to sometimes watch them rehearse when I was a kid!
Craig Donahue -- Yes, it's so very lovely, just the type of love ballad I've always loved. L.J. is from Saginaw? You were so lucky to know the Dramatics and watch them rehearse!!! I was a big Dramatics fan.

Lol. Not true about Eddie Levert, tho. His son, Gerald Levert, had him down pat! Gerald had the best Eddie other than Eddie himself! 😊
