I sang with LJ in Detroit at the old 20 Grand in 1981...when he was doing his solo thang. LJ could always sing and still can sing his behind off. He was a good boss as well. We always rehearsed in his home in Southfield. Thank you LJ....I have sung with alot of people after singing with you and those stair steps got me where I am today. I have sung with the Original Shirelles, The Marvelettes, The Ladies Formerly of Chic, Lionel Hampton, Wayne Newton, Lena Horne and with my Platters guys now for over 15 years.

I was a young 21 yr old Marine stationed at Selfridge 15 miles outside the city. L. J. Reynolds came on. Few seconds later a beautiful queen grabbed my hand to dance. I didn't know what I was doing. Yep, no shame in it at all. I only discovered this a few weeks ago while searching for the 80's reggae version (by artist Ruddy Thomas) that was blasted everywhere when I was a child, by my older siblings or their friends. Love it; THIS is the kind of Soul music I was raised on.
