In one aspect they are quite similar; ie immigration. Both are extremely low, Niger no-one wants to move there, Japan no-one is allowed to move there.
well for japan it will become a problem if they will still let so few people in
@@extazy9944 No, it wont. their population will decrease. stabilize. and eventually stay roughly the same.,Poverty or more space and cheaper living will increase birthrates. those "country will have population by 2065" thing only include current growth with very minimal change for dozens of years. which countries wont have. thats why they are almost always wrong on the longer term. If Japans economy stays good while decreasing., more people will have more childeren.
If their economy collapses and they have their "great depression" once they recover the population will pick up again.
No need to change the culture by adding mass immigration. A countries people are responsible for itself.

@@svbahs6091 it's probably much easier to be allowed to move there if you can show a nice fat bank account to prove that you won't be a burden on society.
So what did I learn from this interesting video ? Put a Japanese person in Niger, and he'd be shocked by the lack of general infrastructure, sanitation and daily convenience, resulting in a heart attack. Drop a Nigerien into central Tokyo, and he'd be shocked by the futuristic looking vending machines on every street corner, resulting in a heart attack.

I think it's New Zealand and Afghanistan
Geography: One is temperate archipelago in the southern Hemisphere with very distinct characteristics, other is dry, landlocked highlands region with vague borders that don't match the geography
Notable demographic differences: 1) Population Pyramids 2) Education/Urbanization rate 3) New Zealand has one dominant ethnic group, while Afghanistan is very divided by ethic groups 5) They're also very different by culture traditions
Politics: One is one of the most democratic, prosperous, peaceful, developed countries, while the Afghanistan is in the civil war, with no to little developed social institutions, and the Taliban is pretty authoritarian to say the least, and the country generally counts the worst in suck things like GDP or human development index
History: Afghanistan is ancient historic region with old records and ancestry. Afghanistan was never actually "Colonized", although it's borders were defined by regional powers. While the New Zealand is fairly new country, which was settled by English colonizers as some kind of frontier, and never actually been to any war or political instability
but they are both mountainous, also their people are both Caucasians, furthermore their languages are from the same family
new zealand is a very ethnically diverse country with many people from asia, the pacific, and europe. Also, afghanistan has lots of mountainous regions like new zealand.
@@jeffjones114 None of Afghanistan's languages are anywhere near English, which is a Germanic language.
Many of Afghanistans languages are Proto Indo European languages which are in fact stil, related, albeit distantly. The languages of Niger and Japanese are totally unrelated in all senses@@davidz3879

1. Japan/Niger
2. Qatar/DRC
3. Canada/Burundi
4. Switzerland/Somalia
5. Iceland/Ethiopia
Both Switzerland and Somalia have pride in their will to fight and have no ethical questions when doing business.
Canada and Burundi both have French as a second most spoken language (the most spoken language is English in Canada and Kirundi in Burundi).
Qatar and DRC both have noticable populations of muslims and natural resources. Both colonized,
south korea / north korea have nothing in common in terms of country building
Qatar and DRC are rich in natural resources. Canada’s and Burundi’s histories are defined by the conflict and compromise between the two major ethnic groups- English/French-Canadians and Hutus/Tutsis. Iceland and Ethiopia are very mountainous and they control an essential resource for their more powerful neighbors, causing conflict. Ethiopia controls Nile river water which flows to Egypt and Iceland had cod wars with the UK.

Loved all the points that were made here. The conclusion is very reasonable and I fully agree now. Before this video I would've thought that the two least similar countries would be North and South Korea but this makes WAY more sense!
Only different politically and economically. North and South Korea have the same racial and ethnic groups, same language, many similar traditions, etc. They were the same country in the past after all.
@@Nutty151 That is absolutely correct, those are the types of things I didn't think about when forming my initial opinion
I disagree Niger was colonised by France for decades but Japan was never invaded so it’s does matter
but isn't that also what make them so different? one was a colonized country and the other was the colonizer.
That makes them even more different, proving the Creator's point.
No, it doesn't matter, plus Japan was destroyed in ww2
We Americans occupied Japan for nearly 7 years. This after sinking virtually the entire IJN, firebombing every city to rubble (except: Osaka (spared due to cultural importance), Kokura, Hiroshima, Nagasaki and other cities planned for nuclear attacks), nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki, invaded the Japanese Island of Okinawa, and following the surrender aboard BB-63 USS Missouri, soft invasion of Japan's mainland.

Well even though you got the two most different countries, both Japan and Niger still share a lot of similarities. Both have very low immigration rates, both countries are homogenous, both countries have severe, harsh punishments for crimes
Niger is homogenous? There are plenty of different peoples of Niger. Fula, Hausa, Yoruba, Kanuri, Ijaw, theres tons

@@carljohnson4320 are the Fula, Housa and Yoruba different on a cultural and linguistic level or are they also different on a genetic level? French is the official language of Niger, but it is almost entirely spoken as a second language. It is also only the third most widely spoken language. South Korea was poorer than almost all the African countries. South Korea wasn't a developed country until 2005. Also, Korea has social problems and some economic problems as well. Their society is very judgemental and very superficial.
