15:23 Fun Fact: Primo Desiderio originally installed deck rails on the side of his board to help him primo slide. He would actually use a jigsaw to cut out the side and then drill the deck rails in and poured candle wax into the screw holes so that way the wax would melt the further you slide.
The guy who invented the primo slide, Primo Desiderio (not Rodney Mullen) actually put deck rails on the side of his board. He cut a piece out of the deck to make the deck rail be flush
So many good looking parks to skate. I wish it had been like this in the late 80's. We became DIY masters, we had to. Imo If he had made the Primo it'd have been by pure luck. It's far too hard a trick to do consistently on such a thin bar.
@christopherespinoza-darnel8514 what has where I live got to do with the price of cheese? U sound incredibly up urself man. I know what I said, I said what I mean. Get over urself.
Primos are not that hard 😂. Primo SLIDES aren't even in the upper echelon of technical tricks, its just one of those tricks that aren't considered a trick you do outside of freestyle so its why you ever see people do them (that and outside of having cube wheels that over your bolt, grinding down your bolts so you can't get your nut off/back on isn't ideal) And learning them and doing one on accident is a different thing. I don't think you live in LA, Cali where the average skater is better than the best in most cities around the world. Also, don't underestimate Julian. He is cracked and a pro for a reason.
@christopherespinoza-darnel8514 He's not jst trying to primo a pad, he's trying to primo something 4 inches wide. It's too technical to make every time. Any one of us, given enuf time could make it once. But seriously, what's the point in nailing something once in 50 attempts? It's not as though he can put it in a line with those odds. U glanced at my comment and immediately started in with the "u must not live in Cali" bulls**t Correct!! I live in Scotland. What u more or less said in the comment u deleted was that outside Cali noone has a clue about skating. I can't agree darnell, jst can't agree at all. Stop seeing others as lesser than u. Are u that conceited that u look down on the rest of the skatepark? Most folk can't be bothered with the negativity u have on full display. If the asshat fits, wear it darnell, wear urs with pride.
@Dadbot Yeah, given long enuf he'd have pulled it. But compared with doing a primo across a pad or something, doing it on a grind bar 4 inches wide is a different thing. Let's say he did pull it, how many attempts untill he pulls it again? All I'm saying is that imo apart from being hard as fk to pull, it has far too many things that can go wrong trying on something of that width. It could never be incorporated into a line, and is there any point making it in one out of 50 attempts? He didn't pull the trick for a reason mate, there's too much risk factor to commit to it. Sorry if u can't accept that but it's my opinion.
I think from a physics perspective you have to ride in directly behind the rail and almost do a rocket kickflip to keep all force headed in a straight line.
The bump to rail at Tempe Skatepark (AZ) might be possible. It's a girthy round rail, I agree with you that that kind of rail would make more sense for a "lock-in," vs. a flat/square.
15:23 - bro, Primo Desderio himself did that. and he would melt wax in the screw holes and make more so that as it slid and heated up all of it came out.
Its funny seeing you skate with Nathan "Bev" Yo (not in this video) realizing in his part for FP he did the 360 walride that Andy Anderson was trying as well as had the sickest line on the that long downhill curb that comes dkwn from that parking lot/garage top you were skating with Decin Bagnoli. Made me really appreciate Bev 😂
Majority of those fakie manny fakie flips looked really good.. loose and mastered looking. You’re really hard on yourself. And primo grind if it’s ever been done it was probably accidental which is crazy too.. and a big round bar probably really would be the best thing.. that square bar we could definitely consider it a grind.. if the square was too wide people would be like oh well that’s basically a ledge or a pad. But yea that tricks pretty much imaginary. He makes it look possible though.
Theory: Cali skate parks are smooth cuz it barely rains there 🤔 Here in Canada we dont have that problem. They do paint over graffiti tho, and thats slippy af 😒
Hey Dan- serious suggestion… the only time I’ve ever actually grinded a primo across a rail was when I was trying to kickflip 50-50 a 5 stair wall rail… it must have gotten into Primo like three times and made it all the way down before I jumped off confused. It can only buckle one direction… Makes it more doable. Just kind of slides across the wall. Something to think about. If someone could quarter flip it, the wheels would be against the wall.
sorry dan but “that johnny giger kid” would destroy you in a game of skate even in your prime mr.corrigan you wouldn’t stand a chance against that “kid”

"That Johnny Giger kid" lmfaooo
Ikr lmao Giger is a fking beast, one of few people who can recreate old school Mullen tricks and do them legitimately clean
But also he's pretty old like upper 30's or atleast 30's
@@nateloomis8380 Which makes his skills even more impressive!
@@nateloomis8380 Thats not even somewhat old bahaha
@@LevelUpDaily434 He's 32 I think and yeah that ain't old, but it sure as hell aint a "kid" either.
11:08 - 11:16 had me cracking up
the dang dog in the back actively trying to take a dump while the owner like
nah not now 😂
I love it when you make world class skaters have fun on a skateboard. Yet another great video.
I love at 5:43 Ariana Ollied on a upside down skateboard made it do a 520 kick flip to up right and no one said anything about it
Thought the same thing was like OK that was cool AF and nobody said ish wtf 🤷🏽♂️lol

5:42 Ollie popcorn flip? Looked pretty cool.
The play back in .25x show it primo smacked the corner into the kickflip many and I agree with Dan, that was sick

Switch nose manny fakie flip looked gooood Dan!

That park looks so playful and fun, seems like a good learning park

The clickbait caught me hook, line and stinker...
A primo-grind on a rail is some next level insanity.
I love those trees in the background
damn bobby lee rips !
It feels like you should do that primo grind there, on that specific dumb double rail just to stack weird tricks done on it like the one you did.
I just realized those rails are supposed to be sunglasses. I've always wondered those flatbars were designed to be so difficult to skate.

i think we found Julians 2025 cover: primo down a street handrail 🔥
Im so jealous of the weather.. Havent had a dry day in months. Oh Canada
Nice! I like the question format for a title. Gets the click but doesn’t feel clickbaity.
primo grind the vertical side of the flatbar. wheels locked in on top :O Is it possible?
lookin great out there!
Cannot forget from the original having never been taught. A.I. that is.
If anyone can primo grind a rail , it would be Mr. Amazing Andy Anderson!
Bro no fucking way.... lmao he's got that on a indented rail for sure I feel like if it's fatter it will slip
🐉 🥜. Dragging nuts!
A primo slide on flat ground would be impressive enough.
could && do a primo slide on that rail???? If I attempted that I would be sure to wear 2x pairs woolen socks
Avocado Heights has a nice thicc round rail for that primo
Have you heard about people being stung by bees and it curing their lime disease somehow. Some crazy stories out there.
Never heard this before, but I hope it benefits Dan
LMAO. All I can picture is Dan coming out in his next video covered in bee stings and still having lymes disease 😂.
I seen her this summer at Thrasher weekend and didn't even know who she was🤦🏽♂️
What about a rail on the side of a 4 stair hubba. Let the wheels roll on the wall on the backside.
Why’s bro pulling that dog while he’s poopin?!
What park?
Jason Park
Is that trick called a Nut Slide?
That’s what we called it haha

Shoulda just cave man it. I’ve seen it done by bye bye skateboarding I think. He did it more like chopper style on the skinny round rail
