    Zamma has a stair tread system that I typically use, it is by far the fastest and easiest way (in my opinion). Especially if someone does not like the look of the transition from the plank to the nosing. Great video though, love it!

    I would recommend peel off that rubber backing though prior to glue up for better adhesion

    The life proof vinyl planks I got have the underlayment underneath. I
    purchased the stair nose and it came with tracks that need screwed down.
    Can I still use the vinyl planks with the underlayment for my stairs
    and risers? What adhesive do you recommend?

    Just to be clear, you cut the male connector side off to have a clean edge on the bottom and then you trimmed (ripped) it to length (height) on the top edge of the riser and capped it off with the corner edge (nose) piece?

    Hey Boss, great video! Our supplier said we can't do the stairs to match with vinyl plank. After seeing this video I say you proved them wrong. What is the material called that you used for the bull nose or to cover the corver of each stairs? Or maybe a link to one so I get the general idea? Thank you!

    From the top edge of the flooring do you leave a space for putting the nosing? Should The flooring be finish first before the work on the stairs start? That’s why I need to know how much space from the edge of the flooring for the top nosing to be put?

      @@miguelmurray6509 depends on the glue you get, but I recommend a least 12 hours. In the case of this video we let it dry over night.

      Was thinking the same thing. Never showed putting down the tread either. How much space did you leave for the nosing. Is the nosing glued to the vinyl plank or the subfloor or both?

      @@TheScandalTV glue a piece of flooring to the riser and then just butt the stair nose to it use a construction adhesive and done step on it till it's setup

      Using product that is fairly popular always had options for matching stair nosing and evening matching quarter round sometimes

    damn, I wish I saw this video before using a mitre saw and table saw to cut almost all my plnaks. I have some gaps on the sides, a lot of mess to clean and vacuum and wasted pieces from making incorrect cuts. This method looks way cleaner, both in mess and precision and probably a lot faster too!

    I have VLP on my downstairs floor and I wanted to add it to the stairs. This is one of the best videos that I have found for what I want to do! Only difference is that I want to have white risers. I'm going to look for that template tool! Also, what is the cutting tool you used?

      Thank you! I love white risers. It gives it a clean look! The tool you can find it in amazon as well. You can type Vinyl Floor Cutter. Recommend to get the one that has a curve. It allows you to make long cuts. Like the one you see in the video.

      Those are called bullnose. You order them to match the plank. They take about 4 to 5 weeks to be made sometimes.

    Overall a good job. I think you should do another but be more methodical in your approach to the video so that you include the steps. I messed up when I did mine as I didn't realise I should keep that gap for the bullnose. You should have shown the bullnose going in. Also on the half landings why did you leave that bit of baseboard there - it would be better to have removed that and put it in place over the flooring - just saying. Great job though

    This is a floating floor, and this material expands alot when it gets warm in the house then contracts small again when it's cool. Even when your gluing you should have a little space on each side do it can move. If iui t cant expand to vfc the sides when its warm, the only way to go is up. And can make the planks all come apart

      Vinyl plank barely expands, nowhere near as much as wood, won’t have any problems with expanding and contracting

      Lvp doesn’t expand if it’s spc or rigid. Wpc might a tad but it’s not wood. Your comment applies mostly to wood

    Starting this project now but having a problem with finding vinyl planks without a backing. Anybody know if you can still use glue even with an attached backing?

      I would either peel the rubber backing off which is sometimes can be an easy task or belt sanded off with 60 grit
      This provides better adhesion overall

    Can i make a suggestion that makes it faster. Instead of using a pencil, scribe with a sharp knife on both sides and break the ends after. You get a perfect cut

      Yes it goes over the tread. It is an Overlap Stairnose. There are overlap and flush stairnoses.

    I only use my measure tape , a square and dewalt knife to score it and then you just fold it and there you have it

    What are you using to score/cut the planks? I was thinking of doing miter saw but this looks like a much better option

      You can definitely use a miter saw. But in this video I am using a vinyl flooring cutter. You can find some in amazon. there is a lot of different kinds. Vinyl flooring cutters have a better clean cut and less mess.

      A utility knife will work too on vinyl flooring, it will be a little harder but you can crack it down pretty easy. Always use the proper protective equipment.

    dont u need to leave a little gap at the edges of each step for expansion. Like they tell u to leave a 1/4 inch gap around the perimeter of a room if i am not mistaken

      I believe since the steps are so small in length and width that it is not necessary plus they are glued. I'm not 100% but I had the same question and this is what I suspect.

      No because it is not wood and synthetic doesn’t stretch plus it’s got its own glue on the back of the tile the extra he has put on probably so it doesn’t bubble

      I don't think is necessary on this case. Plus there have been tests online that this vinyl flooring doesnot expand with time at all. I agree to that.

      I also do this for a living and on steps you do not need expansion but in a room especially near a sliding glass door you need expansion because the heat from the sun makes this material expand its happen to me one time learned my lesson.

      No need.

      If you leave the padding attached it will eventually breakdown and pull away from the adhesive. You should absolutely remove the padding (at least from the risers, the treads will probably stay put)

    Do I still need to use the template if I don't have a wall on one side? I have one step in living room that needs lvp. Step it's against one wall but no wall on the other side.

      Just hold a board there flush against the step and measure to that. Then you can add a nose around that wide of the stair as well, and add a corner piece connecting the two nose sections.

    The stair nose, it's bullnosed correct? Do you leave that bull nosed edge void? What I mean is, is there open space in the round edge? Does it move or flex when kicked with a toe or stepped on?

    Did you use the same glue for the stair nose overlap? do you need to use nails as well? Also, when you start a stair do you start with riser, then step then the stair nose so it can overlap? thank you again on a great video

      Yes I use the same glue. Power grab. It is very good. You always do the risers first.
