    Brilliant,
    So grateful for you videos, I mainly do media and I agree 100% tv shows can do well. But I’ve sold single disc dvds for more than a 10 season Dvd set - I feel like you’re the only media focussed reseller on TH-cam that isn’t full of shit!
    Your videos have helped me so much, if I ever run into you at an Oppy I owe you at least a 24 pack of frozen party pies

      Thanks so much Leith I really appreciate hearing that. I'll always be as honest as possible. I'm not interested in leading people on for views.
      I'll definitely take a couple party pies if I run into you 😂

    I appreciate your honesty and how real you are talking about this. Some resellers on TH-cam talk about DVDs like “you should do this” the way you are is yourself and honest opinion and knowledge on it.

      Thanks so much Cassie! That's exactly how I try to live my life just in general

    I get asked all the time how to start selling DVDs or I get comments about how it's too hard. I made this vid just for those looking to get started selling media. Apologies for the terrible lighting I'll be less lazy next time 😅

    Thank you for your video! I've found the 'live in concert' DVDs do well for me. Recently sold 2004 Tina Turner concert DVD for $44! And thank you for helping me with an international postage question 👊

    Great video Wayno, and I totally agree movies are where it's at rather than TV Series. When you add up all those $10-$15 sales they really do count.

    Great intro lol
    So true with everything you said especially TV Shows are not that great.
    I've got a fair few DVDs for sale but have found Blu rays so much more profitable and quicker sell through rate.

    • @unclewaynosworld1708
      @unclewaynosworld1708  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I love Blu-Ray there's a lot that weren't available for long so there's gems everywhere!

    Great video Uncle Wayno. You are spot on with DVDs - there are "some" good TV series but there are so many discs to clean that a few single movie DVDs are just so much easier to list/sell !! ... and they are more interesting to watch (as recommended by Requiem for a Film) 😉

    • @unclewaynosworld1708
      @unclewaynosworld1708  ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely prefer single movies they're so much easier. Love the cross promotion 😂 Thanks so much Dave!

    Really helpful… will throw out all those flashback dvds lol. I did get all bar one season of ER once in a bulk lot which was great.
    Q- if it’s a blockbuster but sealed- would you comp it?

    • @unclewaynosworld1708
      @unclewaynosworld1708  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah definitely ditch the flashbacks lol. Yeah I would still comp if sealed. Some will still be under $10 but some will be over

    Thanks for your informative video. I have some dvds to sell. What happens when one or two have scratches? Does that make them un saleable? Or do you test them out? Thanks again. Oh and what do you use to clean them please. They seem to get blotchy using the wipes

    • @unclewaynosworld1708
      @unclewaynosworld1708  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends what kind of scratches. If they're deep scratches you won't be able to sell them. If they're light scratches/scuffs they should play fine. I don't test them.
      I use turtle wax scratch & swirl. You only need a tiny bit on a micro fiber cloth

    im brand brand new to reselling and just been looking around, i saw a listing of 3,000 DVDs for £100 GBP + £90 delivery
    im very very tempted to go for it since at that price point it will be about 6 pence per dvd, and ive looked up a couple at random and at least they are £1.99 each + postage.
    i just know that it will take so so long to check each, make sure dvd is inside, etc, check pricing, take pictures, and get them all listed
    (also they say they havent checked if each plays, but they have removed some with obvious damage)

    Thanks Uncle Wayno, some great and helpful tips there - particularly on the pirated stuff, because I’m always worried about that. (There’s definitely lots of it in the op shops.)
    I’ve done a couple of bulk buys so far - one lot was from a garage sale and another which was five boxes of DVD’s that the op shop was going to throw out. A lot were scratched but still a good place to start learning. I’ve definitely spent heaps of time comping. Do you use a scanner for listing, or do it all manually?

    • @unclewaynosworld1708
      @unclewaynosworld1708  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Getting a free lot is definitely a great way to start learning. I don't use a scanner but I use templates so most of the listing is already input

    If the disc is blue in colour on bottom side of disc, it’s most likely a pirated dvd. Nice upload with lots of good info, thanks.👍

    • @unclewaynosworld1708
      @unclewaynosworld1708  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Cheers! It's true that a lot of blue discs are fake however distribution companies are now printing on demand so they come like that. They're considered legitimate releases

    If I buy a bulk lot I definitely comp every single one, if you don’t want to comp it all then don’t buy in bulk.

    What’s your stance on Jigsaw puzzles? I think there is an emerging market for puzzles missing 2 pcs!!!!!! 🐙
