Nice fiver packer. I got this one today. I rarely buy the five packs but I couldn't pass up this one. The Coronet and the Impala sold me, but I wanted the Speed Bump and the tow truck too.
Nice! The Coronet’s paint job is probably in the running for best $1 car livery of the year. It’s really good - the Impala is rad too. Very solid 5-pack all around!
Picked up this pack a few days ago. My fav is the Superbee Coronet folled by the Enforcer which is probably meant to keep everyone in check during the derby. Geat to see a Smash car make its 5 Pack debut. so actually plastic body usually means better track performance. To me it makes no difference. I buy what I like. There are a few licensed plastic body counterparts for a Corvette Stingray, '57 Chevy and quite a few others. ..That perform great on the track.
The Superbee is awesome! The rest of the cars are good to but it’s hard to beat the Coronet’s paint job. I feel like the plastic body/metal chassis cars do pretty well on the track too, and I don’t mind the plastic body either. Actually, I find the plastic cars usually look better after a long day of racing as the paint on the bodies of the metal cars usually ends up getting chipped at some point, where the plastic cars hold up pretty well. I know most collectors prefer metal, but a few licensed new plastic bodied cars wouldn’t be so bad!
I like the idea, but the Cruise Bruiser casting would make more sense than the Enforcer, which I found in a police 5 pack from 2019. It's been awhile since the last derby 5 pack, and if they've used Speed Bump, this could mean that future derby sets could include the other crushed cars, which is good news for those who want just the car and not the monster truck.
Agree - the Enforcer is such an oddball choice for a derby pack, unless they were going for more of a Twisted Metal type vibe. I really hope we see more of the crushed cars outside of the monster truck line too. I collect monster trucks, but since they aren’t two pack exclusive trucks, you end up duplicating trucks you already have just to get the crushed car.
Yeah I don’t know why the Cruiser Bruiser wasn’t included bc it is literally a demo car - my only guess is that they used it in the Zombie 5-pack and didn’t want to use it twice?
The Impala is a metal body with plastic chassis😎 Most of the licensed castings are metal, very few are plastic as they put more money and time into the licensed stuff to make manufacturers happy ha.
It’s more for fun/wreck effect bc they are fun to “play” with ha. Of course you can really drive them but it’s cool to have a smashed car for monster truck and demo derby playtime you know?
All of the cars can be hooked onto the tow truck by the front rivet holes on their underside by the way.
I got this set and the Batman 5pack together a couple weeks ago. I love these a lot better than the Batman ones. These were a lot more fun

Picked this set up yesterday. Think the '69 Dodge Coronet superbee is the best casting hands down but I love speedbump too
Absolutely! It’s definitely hard to choose between the two, but the Superbee’s paint job is amazing!
Missed opportunity to add either a cruise bruiser, time attaxi, or the time shifter instead of that military buggy casting... still a good pack tho.

I wish it had better cars like cruise bruiser of maybe like actual derby cars with the hood stacks and like damage to it with good painf jobs

I hate when they add crushed car castings cause it like in real life it wont work anymore so like why is that in the pack?
