    Very informative Joe. Very well explained. Have a set of Beeftubes in my MST CFX. You inspired me to also add a set of Beeftubes to my Wraith. Thank you.

      Joe Conti don't worry, they will do the job. Beef tubes make your axles bomb proof!

    great video buddy....very well explained... now what is the advantage of under drive gears?...

    • @JCRC
      @JCRC  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ramsay R/C ah finally - a question lol
      There are 3 different gears you can have in your diff for the Wraith - I'm pretty sure (without checking) that it is the same for the SCX10. You have the over drive, the under drive and the stock gears. The best setup for performance if you are a crawler is to have the rear diff with the under drive gears (they make the rear wheels spin slower that the ones in the from if the front diff has the stock or the order drive gears installed) Ideally you want the front ones to spin a bit faster so they can "pull" the car up a hill before the rear wheels try to flip it over itself - Imagine yourself climbing a wall (maybe not at our age lol) Well, your hands will pull harder than your legs will push otherwise you will throw yourself back off the wall, get it? Same principal applies except something its cool to watch the Wraith flip over itself front over rear but I don't think it will be nice seeing you flip over yourself off a wall :) lol
      This time I made both front and rear the same again but preferred a lower ratio gearing for slower crawling :)

      Joe Conti again well said brother...I fully get what you are saying...I might have to do a little more research on these gears...thank you for your input Joe...love the beef tubs also...might have to look into a set myself

      Ramsay R/C The following are compatible with both the Wraith and the SCX10
      AX30392 - Stock gear - Axial Bevel gear set - 38/13
      AX30401 - Overdrive - Axial Heavy Duty Bevel Gear Set - 36T/14T

      Joe Conti and having the diff gears wont bother crawling the way that I crawl ?

    • @JCRC
      @JCRC  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ramsay R/C If you like slow motion crawling then go for the over drive up front and under drive in the back .. but don't bash it like this as it will put a LOT of stain and stree on the drive train .. that is why I installed both front and back with the under drive, so at least I can crawl at an even lower speed and when I feel like bashing the thing, I do a lot less damage (less stress and strain) in the drive train :)

    I cant insert the beef tubes on the rear axle. Please help

    • @JCRC
      @JCRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had a similar problem on both my cars with AR60 axles, however, with a bit of happening you will get them in .. make sure you remove the screws holding down the shock and link mounts!

    what are the advantages of beef tubes?

    • @JCRC
      @JCRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Additional static weight at a very low point in the RC - help when climbing - and strengthening the axle housings .. if you noticed mine are plastic. Also keeps the C-hubs screwed on tight as the screws now thread into metal not plastic.

    Under drive in the front why?

    • @JCRC
      @JCRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because I like my cars with underdrive both front and rear. Every time I had overdrive up front I trashed the gears! We do a lot of side crawling here and having overdrive up front did not help! Matter of taste I guess.

      @@JCRC no one shows the wraith axles going through the tubes . There is the skirt on the axle shaft that blocks it from going through the tube.

    • @JCRC
      @JCRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh you mean the shaft. That "lip" on the shaft on the side of the gears? Needs grinding down!
